Alien Autopsy (2006)
Could've been better but still very enjoyable
This movie is a lot better than most films being shown in cinemas the same time as its release. This film was marketed as a comedy but it isn't that funny. It does make you laugh but the jokes are not that strong and are far between. However, the tone is there which makes the viewer feel the fun that the cast and crew had making the movie. What I found interesting enough that kept me engaged was that this is a true story. It is amazing how many people were fooled by the 'autopsy footage'. And it does make you think what is out there, especially after seeing the footage that started the chain of events. Ant or Dec will not be winning any awards for their performances but still do a very good job that makes me want to see them do more acting.
Great Performances: Jesus Christ Superstar (2000)
A Masterpiece!
This production of the classic JCS is a masterpiece. The whole cast and crew have done a great job. Rik Mayall brings mischief, but evil, characteristics to his character, King Herod. Jerome Pradon is fantastic as Judas. His acting and his voice super! Ten out of ten for the casting director. The direction and use of lighting is done brilliantly. For example, during Jesus' cruifixtion the lighting along with the silence gives a very dramatic effect. The music is fantastic, you'll be singing a bar or two long after you've seen the show.
Out of My Head (1995)
Educational and Entertaining
This is perfect if you want to know about drugs. The people interviewed are real people who have taken drugs and know what the short and long term effects are. They tell why they took the drugs and what happened to them. Fun and entertaining Rik Mayall plays three different roles; a doctor, Ricky who wants to take some drugs and a 'posh' character who says that drugs are 'cool'. This programme is different from other drug educational programmes. Usually, they just keep on telling the viewer that drugs are wrong, you shouldn't take drugs, etc. This programme is different in the way that it gives all the information known about drugs and allows the viewer to make up their own mind on whether it is worth taking drugs, allowing people to have free will.
