American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing (2023)
Bias and hate
Typical leftist garbage. They take every opportunity to trash conservatives and talk about how peaceful that certain religion is. These are the same people who now blame Trump supporters each time something goes wrong. It's pathetic.
What a tragic day, with the only joy being that the Boston police did what might be the best investigation ever conducted. That's your story, Netflix. That is what you should focus on, along with the impact of the tragedy incurred by victims and their families.
Occasionally Netflix has great documentaries. This isn't one of them. Leadership in the media used to mean telling what happened. Now it's making up angles to point fingers and shape ideology.
Zero point zero.
El Fotografo y el Cartero: El Crimen de Cabezas (2022)
English or NOTHING!!!
Why, oh why, do producers think those of us watching the English language versions of these want to hear the native language in the background. It's infuriating! I refuse to watch any programs that do this. They should all be thrown into a room and forced to listen to Madonna songs for fifteen hours with some random person speaking Arabic in the background, not loud enough to overwhelm The Virgin's horrible voice but just loud enough to annoy the crap out of you.
Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer (2021)
Better than scores suggest
This production doesn't rely on the tired straw man format which makes for a focused, informative series. It's the perfect length and I would give it a ten except for occasional decay into the gender wad that no one needs.
The Pharmacist (2020)
Stupid
Too much weeping and chest pounding and at the end, you have no idea if this guy made an impact or not. It's short by miniseries standards but it's still four episodes too long.
Inventing Anna (2022)
The WORST of Hollywood
It's an interesting story ruined by bad acting to some degree but more so by the far left woke nonsense constantly shoved at us. These...people...have no appreciation for those that don't view the world through their narrow hypocritical, nonsensical eyes. I don't mind those with the alternative lifestyles, but I wanted to watch a documentary about Anna and the writer, not about them. Throw in Trump bashing that has nothing to do with the story, and there you have it. A group of activists leveraged this remarkably troubled yet brilliant tragedy of a young woman in order to yet again shove their agenda at the rest of us. It's pathetic. They're so inclusive and embracing, which I guess explains why they dismiss anyone not living on a coast as an uneducated hillbilly from "flyover country". Arrogant, stupid and wrong.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017)
Not as good as touted
Enjoyable flick but the storyline has a few considerations that make absolutely no sense from a logic standpoint, as well as some unrealistic components. The ending isn't stellar.
Bully (2011)
Harmful and contrived, PATHETIC.
It's easy to get sucked into a documentary and forget the process of how it's made. But not for me, maybe at my expense. I can't get passed the cameras around these kids as they go through the day and it's hard to imagine that the "day in the life" portrayed isn't impacted by them. My greater problem is the future impact on these kids, especially the fragile ones, but also the others. Imagine as an adult having footage that appeared on Netflix showing you as a child, being a dork or a bully. No kid should have the decision to appear in such a thing made for them. They should have used actors and made it a docu drama based on the real stories.
The Blues Brothers (1980)
Horrible
By definition, a classic comedy works across eras, with films like Animal House and Fast Times at Ridgemont High generating laughs to this day. I'm not sure if this movie was ever funny, and today it's unwatchable.
Thanks to SNL and Aykroyd and Belushi's popularity, along with famous cast members from all sorts of professions, when released this flick drew huge audiences. I don't know why I watched it again last night. I wish I hadn't.
The acting is terrible, it vacillates poorly between being a comedy and a musical, there's no compelling plot and it runs too long. I get the impression that Belushi had to just show up to draw an audience, and it shows.
Thinking of watching this? Find something, ANYTHING, else to do.
