Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)
Please use historically correct horses!!
I was looking forward to seeing this I always enjoy this type of movie. But the first scene set me on edge and I started to grit my teeth because this is ancient Egypt. There were no Friesian horses in ancient Egypt. The horses were extremely regionally incorrect they were too big for 3500 years ago. Friesian horses did not exist back then neither did any of the Iberian horses that they were using from the location that they were shooting from. Friesian horses weren't developed until the 17th century and Iberian horses were developed from the Barb and some from the Arabian. And here it is l, all horses that had been used in this film should've been Arabians. All pictographs show Arabian horses. It's a simple as that there are plenty of Arabian horses in that part of the world they wouldn't have been that hard to ship in and use. So, instead of watching the movie, I sat there, greeting my teeth and rolling my eyes because they couldn't even use the correct horse for the Era and location. And whatever happened to Aaron?? He's pivotal in the story of Moses. You can't just make a movie to make a movie you have to do a little research to get things Ethnically correct, not go by pulling a rabbit out of a hat, and think the audience is stupid they won't notice. Big fail.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Wasted Time and Money
Absolutely one of the stupidest, waste of time and money movies I have ever sat through. I was so disappointed and frustrated that "I" wanted to commit suicide by the time it was over. They wanted to concentrate so much on The Peacemaker, such a stupid character, they killed off all the good characters and hardly focused on Harley Quinn, at all. I should sue the filmmakers for the loss of time and money that I will never get back. I refuse to see another one of these filmmakers movies or shows. You know, it's expensive to go to the movies and have to sit through this kind of trash. I even bet Margot and Idris were ashamed, as well, with the final product. It's a no wonder it 'tanked'. Awful. I give it a Big Fat "F".
Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023)
Frivolous
What a frivolous, childish disappointment. The "Superhero" main character's acting was just ridiculous and I struggled with the whole movie. I wasn't going to watch it at all, but, I love Dame Hellen Mirren, and so hoped it was going to be a good watch, but, alas, even she couldn't lift this children's take from the bottom. I kid you not, even the Saturday morning children's show I watched while growing up had better acting and content. And that was AWHILE ago!!!!!!! I managed to watch the first movie, it was hard to get through that one, too, but, I greatly enjoy seeing Djimon Hounsou in anything. He is a chronic scene stealer. Unfortunately, he couldn't save the day in this film. Thank heavens I didn't have to pay for seeing this movie. That was all on my date, who didn't like this movie, either. MASSIVE thumbs down, and a waste of time I'll never get back.
My Christmas Family Tree (2021)
One of the BEST...........
One of THEE best Hallmark films I have seen in a very long time. It's sure to be on my list of favorites and I will watch it over and over. The chemistry with the entire family was wonderful and my heart was full the whole while I was watching it. The casting was perfect and the dog was as cute as a button. It had to be good with such an adorable canine!! If this move doesn't put you in the real spirit of Christmas, I don't know what ever would. I just finished watching it for the first time and I'm getting ready to start it all over again. I was I terruped a few times, but, this time I'm turning the tv up and locking the door!! 💗💗💗
The English (2022)
Emily Blunt is the BOMB!!
Emily Blunt is by far, the best actor in this day and age. She can play anything and convincingly. What an amazing performance. I was heartbroken for her on several occasions and when I realized there was not going to be a happily ever after, I wasn't disappointed, it fit the story and characters and it was a fitting end. . I have never seen Chaske or noticed him before, but he was allowed to show off his acting skills and he made a powerful performance, as well, and they played off each other better than I've seen in a long time. I was happy that I could watch all the episodes at once, I couldn't pry myself from the tv until it was finished. They both were magnificent and both deserve awards for The English.
Predators (2010)
Very worthy.......
I have been a fan for many years and I felt this movie was completely underrated. It had great scenes with an ensemble cast. I was very satisfied with it and was very disappointed they didn't consider a sequel. It deserved one, as, there was an opening at the end for it to continue. Now, with "Prey" getting good reviews, this movie was every bit as good, if not better, perhaps they would think about it. I'll be in line to see it!!
The Princess (2022)
Just chill......
I'm a 56 year old woman, and had no expectations for this movie. Let me tell you, it was a blast. I had fun watching it, it was very entertaining and I enjoyed the story and visuals. Folks, stop picking movies and shows apart. Sit back and just enjoy it. That was what this movie was meant for. Enjoyment. There is a shot load of garbage out there that needs ripping apart, yet, they somehow get good reviews?? I don't get it. This one was worth my afternoon. So. Just chill and watch it.
The Northman (2022)
First scene, I thought I was back in 1982 :
Don't get me wrong, I love Alex and a lot of the cast, but, I thought I was segueing into 1982's Conan The Barbarian. I could swear that was Mako's voice, and then, I was snapped into reality. I really wanted to loved this movie, the reviews were pretty decent, but, I only ended up barely liking it, and then the ending. Sigh. It has really great potential, and, Alex made himself the size of a bear. Amazing. This, I felt is was only an average movie, wishing it had been Conan, after all was said and done. Oh, well.
Mr. Holmes (2015)
Integral not adventurous.
I found this movie to be captivating, I'm sure all due to dear Sir Ian. This wasn't an adventure, per say, but an emotional journey of a once grand and famous man dealing with his dwindling age and memory. The characters were wonderful and I found this to be above and beyond the norm. If you're looking for an RDJ adventure, this isn't for you. If you are looking to watch true life and how people deal with it, here is your story. This one will stay with me long after I've seen it. What a pleasure to watch Sir Ian show off his craft. There aren't many like him, so, relish it while you can.
Malignant (2021)
80's Slasher Rises...........
Unfortunately, again. The direction was straight out of an 80's B movie, and, I felt like I was there all over again. Bleh. What a waste.
USS Indianapolis: The Final Chapter (2019)
Narrator not credited?
While this was a fine documentary and I enjoyed it, why wasn't Kyle Chandler credited for the narration? I've heard his voice plenty of times over the years to recognize it. This really bugged me.
Conspiracy (2001)
Utterly appalling.
As a student of WWII, I know how things transpired with 'The Final Solution' and the lack of complete humanity from the Germans, and some other European countries.
I suppose this was a movie that should have been made, to show the side of the inhuman criminals mastering this UNGODLY plan. The choice of actors for this film made it even more disturbing to me, as they are well liked, though, several didn't fit the description of the perpetrators. That was the purpose, I presume. That, underneath anyone's surface could be a cold blooded, evil monster.
Even though I only rated this a 6, as it was so disturbing, this could be a film shown to juniors and seniors in high school. Then, follow this up with the Winds Of War and War In Remembrance. If these don't shock the hell out of these kids, nothing will.
Sanditon (2019)
I LOVED it, then I got PO'd!!!!!
Found this show over this last weekend and loved it!!!!!! Couldn't BELIEVE there's not a second season!!!! I loved the characters!! I was SO upset, I stopped watching the last episode!!! Why bother??!!!! Amazon, PLEASE pick up this series!!!!
Zoe (2018)
Only redeeming quality......
Was Ewan. He can pull anything off. The rest was just bizarre.
Lying and Stealing (2019)
I want my money back.
What a waste of time. I think I've seen those premise a million times, and, this was weird. 👎🏻

Lost in Space (2018)
I was skeptical.........
I was really skeptical about watching this series, I grew up with reruns and my older brother, "scienced the hell out of it", this is in the late 60's, early 70's. I could hear him Poo Pooing in my head and I kept putting it off. Now, I'm not THAT old, but I remember the entertainment and was afraid this would tarnish my memories.
WHAT a mistake!!! I started watching it, finally, on a whim, and I was immediately hooked!!!! How did they do that?? Loved the cast, the acting was phenomenal, the sci-fi was terrific, and when you binge watch, it's constant action or tears. I wouldn't have had it any other way. Hoping for more in the near future!!
NOW!!!! Time to try to get my snobbish brother to watch the series. 😉
Van Helsing (2016)
Good, old fashioned fun and gore.
I just finished binge watching the first 4 seasons. I couldn't stop until I was caught up. There is some damn fine acting with several of the characters in this series, and I feel that Christopher Heyerdahl, deserved at least one Emmy for his portrayal of Sam. Simply astounding!!
Greyhound (2020)
Homerun!!!!!!!!!
As a student of WWII, this was the BEST WWII movie I have seen in ages and definitely the BEST movie I have seen all year. Tom Hanks and crew hit it out of the park!! The score was the final touch. 10 out of 10!!!
1917 (2019)
The Movie Goers are the Critics!!
This, quite possibly, is the best made, directed and acted film I have seen in ages. The one shot filming technique was phenomenal, it put the audience right there with the characters and it felt as we were actually part of the film. The music score was a perfect undertone and built to a crescendo at the peak of angst. I highly recommend this film and if it wins Best Picture, etc, it deserves it!!!!
