Gargi (2022)

Sai Pallavi delivers another Terrific Performance.

Sai Pallavi delivering great performance is becoming just a norm. She delivered a great performance in Virata Parvam recently and I am very exited for future Movies.

Gargi is really good Movie. Kaali Venkat was really really great, I loved his performance. The Dark Tone and the Comic relief was well balanced, could have been better. My Major Complaint with the movie is The Screentime , the Screenplay felt really dragged .The Story did not need 2+ hours, the movie would be perfect if the Movie was 90 to 100 minutes. The Womenhood Lines spoken in the movie at the end Ohh Man, I felt emotionally touched.

Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)

Pushing the Limits of Silliness

The Latest instalment of the MCU, Thor: Love and Thunder is a delightful and fun movie which pushes the limits the silliness and at times feels like the movie is making parody of itself. The Comedy at the very beginning is really good and slowly as we enter the end of first act, it becomes goofy and there follows the silliness. That being said I laughed at 60% of the jokes and they were really good and at the other 40% the whole theatre was silent and gasping and it felt really Awkward. All the weird sounds made by Thor in the trailers have been cut as they might have realised it was too silly. Also at times I really didn't like the editing of the movie.

The Mighty Thor, Dr. Jane Foster had most of the silly jokes which was weird and made the arc of the character by the end little unsatisfied and underwhelming for me because if the writing had been right, it would have impacted audience emotionally and would have been beloved by the whole fans.

Gorr was really under-utilised in the movie. I really can't judge the character and performance as there was so little onscreen time, 10-15 minutes more would have made a lot of difference and made him beloved Villian like Thanos. Maybe the Gorr stuff was too graphic & dark for the tone of this movie, so they had to cut him out ,I don't know.

With all that been said ,this was still a really good movie. Chris Hemsworth really owns the Thor role. The Action was really good and fun. The Cinematography was really good , the monochromatic scenes were greatly executed and when hit correctly, the comedy Scenes were really funny. If not for the silliness pushed too far it would have been a 9/10 movie because it really had that potential , great story and story arcs , redeemable minor characters , great action & soundtrack and cinematography as mentioned before.

I really hope Taika Watiti to pull down some of the over the top comedy for Thor 5 it happens and keep the balance and he is really capable of that as he showed it in Jo Jo Rabbit .

My Score : 7.3/10.

Don (2022)

The Movie I Needed

College Don is the movie I needed to see . The first half of the movie itself is Comic Relief of the Movie ,laughed all the way through Intermission. Some scenes are straight up absurd. The love story was good .S J Surya gave a great performance as Principle but the highlight of the movie is the father son relationship between Sivakarthikeyan and Samuthrakani.

Oh my... Samuthrakani's performance is top notch and I understood why is he so hot right now as he's in every other movie I watch. The second half slowly turns into drama and by the time of the climax it takes complete 180 and turns really dark in a good way. This type of Father Son dyanamic is not new but this movie is different in my opinion ,it is so relatable and at times I was watching myself on the big screen and by the end made to think and appreciate my father a bit more.

My Nitpicks are some absurd scenes and a few characters which I was not into and my main nitpick is Anirudh's music , which is not bad but I felt it was basic and generic. I had high expectations from him after the massive success of Beast(by the way I keep the Beast Album on loop at night while sleeping every day since past month) and his consistent great music albums which are completely new and different from each other. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations , maybe this movie really didn't need Beast or Master level Albums whatever ,the fact I didn't like the music remains...

Feel Good Movie

AVAK is the feel good movie we really need every now and then in these times as action ,drama genre movies ruling the box office . The characters are good and some are obscure which made the theatre to burst out in laughter.

I really had no intention of watching this movie before but after the TV9 incident , I decided to watch all the Vishwek Sen movies here after and support him and be a small part of his success in the box office and the inevitablity of him becoming a Big Star.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata (2022)

Inconsistency Inconsistency Inconsistency

SVP is an inconsistent awesome entertainment. There are inconsistencies in the plot and the storyline and mahesh babu's character are half baked, For example Mahesh Babu at the end stops Financial Business and starts Construction Business or whatever even if it is meant as a joke it still doesn't make any sense . We heard that Mahesh Babu insisted the director Parshuram to change the climax so it proves the point I'm making here. I mean the Billionaires taking Loans and paying back is not new in any cinema but here the director touched some good elements about banks and it's influences .

Coming to Hitpicks Mahesh Babu's performance and Looks are awesome and felt just a little different than the other films which I loved. The Love track between Mahesh Babu and Keerthi Suresh are really good and the Comedy Scenes are really great .Title song and Kalavati Songs are great. Even though the Screenplay in Second half is slow paced and boring at times, I enjoyed the Movie throughout it's runtime and had a good experience.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)

Not What I expected!!

Doctor Strange 2 is a great movie but not what I expected. Wanda Maximoff (Elizibith Olsen) and Sorcerer Supreme Wong ( Benedict Wong) are the real highlights of the movie as usual Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) rules.

Although there are some questionable choices were made in the film. The main criticism for me is pacing which is really slow for my liking , when the movie's runtime was announced as 2h 6m I was worried how they would fit all the multiverse stuff and now after seeing the movie I think this would have been a great movie if the runtime was between 1h 30m to 1h 45 m as the story doesn't need more than that.

Important Note: Don't go to the movie just for the movies. Don't let your speculations be your expectations .Expectations are the theft of the joy.

Overall a solid entry and I'm not quite sure how all the fans would treat and feel about this movie.

8.2/10.

Beast (II) (2022)

Not a Beast of a Movie

Vijay's Beast is not that beast of a Movie. Nelson's signature dark comedy is present in this movie , while I unapologeticly laughed at it most of the time ,it doesn't fit into the tone of the movie. In fact I believe it doesn't age well in the future. And the terrorists in the movie must be the nicest guys in the world, as Vijay infiltrates the terrorists within themselves and kills them , the terrorists asks the hostages nicely without hitting anybody to reveal the person, and that's it the movie falls apart from there itself as the viewer can see there are no real stakes in the movie, as we knew very well every one would be safe except..ok not going into the spoilers territory, you get the idea.

However the Action sequences are awesome, and the soundtrack and background music was literally an ear-gasm for me. It really moved my soul and shook me and next to The Batman , this is really the greatest soundtrack of the year so far.

The Batman (2022)

"THE COMIC BOOK BATMAN MOVIE"

When the Batman flies from the pages of Comic Book to the Big Screen is THE BATMAN movie.

My God ,Robert Pattinson is so awesome and nailed it as Batman. Zoe Kravitz and Jeffery Wright were expectional. Michael Giacchino music is the soul for the film. And Paul Dano killed it as Riddler. Can't wait to explore more of this particular Universe.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Homecoming of the SpiderMan franchise into our hearts.

This Movie was really good. I really lost the trust in the franchise as it was rebooted so quickly two times and was pleasantly surprised . Tom Holland killed it as Peter Parker. I thought this movie would outshine with Iron Man and to my surprise it had just the amount of Robert Downey Jr in it. Also I was getting worried through the course of the film that Peter is so dependent on the suit Tony gave it to him and I felt really redeemed when Tony took away the suit and Peter was back to square one and he fought the Vulture all by his own with his DIY suit that was a great moment in the film.

The twist of Micheal Keaton being Liz's dad is good and all but the last small twist that Zendaya is the MJ , I lost my mind and was effing awesome.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

Greatly written Superhero and the Worstly written Villain(s)

Oh my Oh my if only this movie had better villains , this had everything going for it. Hans Zimmer Music is such a pleasure to the ears. The Chemistry between Peter and Gwen is beyond words. Andrew Garfield will always be my Spiderman for the rest of my life. Andrew Garfield is such a great actor and what a shame he got off so quickly as Peter Parker.

Side Note: I cry really so much whenever I watch the Gwen dying in the hands of Peter even though I have watched the movie like hundred times and know that It's coming , I can't hold myself, What a performance by Andrew.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

An Underrated and Underappreciated Comic Book Movie.

The Amazing Spider-Man is vastly underrated(Man Of Steel is still the greatest underrated Comic Book Movie) , this movie is really great .It is "Almost" as good as SpiderMan 2. Music Score is brilliant, Acting is Top notch.

Andrew Garfield is my favourite Spider-Man . I love Tobey Maguire's and Tom Holland's versions as well but Andrew will remain as THE Spider-Man in my heart and was a shame he got replaced so quickly.

Eternals (2021)

The Most Ambitious MCU Movie ever and not lived up to it.

Hear me out , the single most disconnection in the Movie for me is I couldn't connect with the characters well .Yes the story is in slow pan and we are jumping through the decades in mere few minutes sometimes seconds ,just when I thought I was getting what's in the mind of the characters and understanding them BOOM flashback, or to the present.

I think the single element that could make the movie OK to great and perfect would be making this Disney+ or making the runtime to 3hours or more because like I said this story is very ambitious and have the moral and ethical questions and the Character Development would so great than that we got which is the weakest point of the film, So we could connect to the characters more.

What do I mean I couldn't connect with characters is Why The specific Eternal is connected to the things on the Planet and why loves specifically the other Eternal. For Example Why Gilgamesh wanted to protect and live with Thena & Mikkari and Druig adore each other (By the Mikkari expressions were adorable and the way she looked at him ,should have got at least more than few seconds) . Having more screen time with the characters would make me connect with them and also would make Great Character Development. And also Thena was the weak character and I was greatly disappointed I thought she was gonna be fearsome warrior and be awesome.

Still the movie has great things like Cinematography, CGI Styling and the Art Director did a great job. The Character Karun Patel is great comic relief. And I'm still eager to revisit the characters again.

I'm really sad the movie getting the reception it is (maybe rightfully so, IDK) had the potential to be not just one of the Greatest Comic Book Movie but one of the Greatest Movie.

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

Unbelievably Great Movie.

This movie has high octane action and really great story. This movie had no right to be this good JK. Great storytelling. Excellent performances from Tom Brady and Charlize Thereon.

It's really a shame that this movie had an underwhelming Boxoffice run, really putting brakes to the Franchise. Can't wait to see the sequels and the spin-off .

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Watch the Ultimate Edition(Synder Cut) only

Please watch the movie objectively . You will appreciate the movie , but by no means even the Synder Cut is perfect . The movie has still has it's flaws . My advice is to watch Man of Steel (which is underrated and underappreciated) first and then watch the Synder Cut of this movie , you would definitely be on for a Ride.
