Ragnarok (2020)
The awful ending is much worst than just an awful ending.
I am still in shock. So you make a show about Norse Gods living amongst humans in modern world, which obviously will have a fantasy lover's target audience, including Thor fans... and in the last chapter you drop the bomb that this was all a product of his childhood fantasies because he was reading too much comics and he got mentally ill because of that? It's like inviting your neighbour for a nice meal to tell him that he is an idiot during the desert. Telling people that in order to become adults they need to get rid of comics or whatever was what forged their childhood is beyond absurd. So dissapointed of what started as a great series and took a horriblebturn in the last 2 chapters. I understand that it's hard to create an ending that pleases everyone. I would have been ok with mediocre, but not with despicable.
Gran Turismo (2023)
This movie is so much fun!!!
Between all CGI packed superhero movies, 7 part of something and based on best sellers, watching something like this is the most fun I have had in a while at the cinema. I went with my kid who loves cars and videogames, so he is ecstatic after watching it obviously. But I found myself hyped from the beginning to the end. There's nothing too surprising or pretentious. It doesn't pretend to win an Oscar. It tells an inspiring story and entertains you, making you hold your breath in a few occasions. Shout out to Orlando Bloom, who finally got rid of the "I am a pretty boy" rol and after the first 5 minutes made me forget that it was him acting.
Highly recommended.
Patria (2020)
Already a masterpiece
I swear I wanted to go to sleep early yesterday... But this series is just too good. It shows that there's always two (ot three, or four...) Sides of a story. It's naked of all the clasdic American ornamentation of drama. Barely any music, just plane great acting and directing. It puts you on the skin of the characters in every second... It should b shown in highschools...
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
Will become almost a cult movie for some of us
I will start by admitting that I never liked Ferrell (at all), but after this movie he has earned my respect! The movie is relaxed, funny, cozy... And fuuull of details for Eurovision lovers. I have followed the contest for a long time and this movie was just purely Eurovision, and I can imagine purely Iceland too. It made me feel the Icelanders. The bad ratings come for sure from people who doesn't follow the show, since they re missing a lot of details. Looooved the end song, especially the part in Icelandic!!! And I loved that the festival was hosted in my beloved Edinburgh. I had a blast from begining to end. And so did my 6 year old!
