Surf II (1983)
Can You Relate?
This is one of the best stupid movies ever! Up there with Moving Violations and Detective School Dropouts (and my new favorite Dude Where's My Car). I loved the dual breakfast scene. And the Daddy-O greeting that Cleavon got whenever he entered the room. I think I'll have some Buzz Cola right now!
Seems Like Old Times (1980)
Anyone for some chicken pepperoni!
One of my all time favorite movies. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the real star of this movie - Chester. I like to watch this movie with my father and Chester always cracks him up. This is up there with Fletch in movie quotables and the dinner party scene with Benson is a classic. My favorite quote, when Goldie explains that the cops took that chicken that she had promised to bring him, Nick replies "What was it illegal chicken?"
Fandango (1985)
I thought I was the only one that loved this movie
One of my top 5 movies of all time. I caught it on cable late one night about 10 years ago and fell in love with it. I just watched it again this weekend after not seeing it for a while (even though I have it on tape). This movie was both haunting (the graveyard fireworks/Vietnam premonition) scene, touching (the daydreams of Gardner and his lost love), and funny (of course the Truman scenes). I had worked on a computer implementation scenario at work for a recruiting project. I named by recruiter Gardner Barnes (of course no one got it). Even though I was born in 1970 some of favorite songs now are Spooky, Too Late & Can't Find My Way Home (and the 15 Pat Metheny CDs that I have). And to close with one of the best movie lines ever - What happened to your car? You're drinking it!
