La Brea: The Road Home, Part 2 (2024)
Fairly decent end to the series!
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Everything turns out as one might expect. Our heros find their way home and all back together.
They're have been other series finales that have left a lot to be desired. "Lost" I'm looking at you!
Exciting to the last, some sad moments of course. I'd said well done for the most part.
One thing did jar me a bit. When Maya gets what's coming to her, Petra was right there and nobody batted an eye.
If course a few moments before he was yelling about not caring what his mother wanted but still...
At any rate, I found it very satisfying.
Anyway, congrats the the cast and crew.
The Walking Dead: World Beyond: The Last Light (2021)
Two Months???
I was enjoying the show just fine, it was headed for what I thought was going to be an interesting conclusion.
However the opening of the final episode gave me pause. When the graphic says 2 months ago?
The idea that the entire series talked place over a scant two months took me out of the show. I'm sorry but that just completely wrecked the whole thing for me.
Ghosts: Viking Funeral (2021)
Great Dialogue.
Some of the dialogue is wonderful in the show. For example when the ghost kept referred into moving on as getting "sucked off" I nearly lost it!
That's potential here.
Dexter: The Getaway (2009)
What next for Dexter? (Spoiler)
With the shock ending of Season 4, what is next for Dexter? We now have a single father serial killer. Does he blame himself? Perhaps. Certainly if he had let Arthur die when he stopped him from jumping to his death on the Four Walls build, that would have been the end of Trinity, and Rita would still be alive.
Will we see Julie Benz show up ala Harry, as Dexter's guilty conscience? Frankly I think that the producers could do worse than to continue to keep this marvelous actress on the show in some capacity.
What about the chance in the relationship dynamic for Dexter and Debra? Now that she knows that Dexter and Brian Moser were brothers, will that color her perception of her brother? In the final episode one might not think so, but the emotion of discovery was too raw for her to have fully thought it out. Time will tell.
Lost: Tricia Tanaka Is Dead (2007)
Excellent Comedy touches
After watching this episode, I hope that things truly do change for Hurley. He is such a likable character that you want him to be in a better place. Sawer kind of surprised me here as well. He came up to Hurley all ticked off wanting his "stuff" but seemed genuinely touched by Hurley's welcome back hug. Of course the more we see of Sawyer, or James if you will his wall of being this tough-guy can artist is slowly crumbling. As for Hurley though it was interesting to see Cheech Marin show up as his errant father in the flash-back sequences. I always enjoy the Hurley-centric episodes for the comedy elements they bring to the show. After last weeks traumatic events, it is nice to have this for a little break
