Christmas on the Farm (2021)
Sloppily retrofit to Australia
Admittedly I generally don't love Christmas films or romcoms, so this one probably wasn't my genre to begin with, but as there have been some great Aussie Xmas films (Mooney Christmas, a sunburnt Christmas) I decided to give it a go.
I think this film felt like it was written to take place in America and then quickly was slapped together for Australian production. The Aussie elements brought in more felt like cheap stereotypes then actual nods to Australian culture. Overall I felt like it was an Australian movie, but not made for Aussies. I'm not really sure who it was made for tbh.
Luxe Listings Sydney (2021)
Enjoyable, but in a laughing at them sort of way
Like a few of the other reviewers, I was a little disappointed that the show didn't focus heaps on actual houses and instead revolves more around the petty dramas of the three agents.
Despite this I did binge through all six episodes and probably will watch the next season. The short male realtor is a jaw droppingly spot on characterisation of a (slightly more polished) David Brent gone into real estate, which is pretty funny to watch. I do hope the show is as scripted as it feels though because his employees, particularly the girls, dont deserve his weird ego trips.
