David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet (2020)
The limited view of one of us many humans
Longtime life dedicated to showing the whole world the beauty of this planet. Legit that he wants to preserve it, just like many of us do. He was privileged to travel the world but he didn't do so on a sailboat. He used the same fossil fuels he condemns as one of the primary reasons this world "is being destroyed". Superficial solution to using solar power, wind power etc. Without talking about how much fossil fuels are used to produce these "nature-saving" devices and no mentioning about how polluting is their maintenance and how it is impossible to recycle them once their lifecycle is over. Also, windmills kill birds. Moving on, was it fossil fuels that made the walruses commit suicide down a cliff? Or is it truthful to show steam that comes out of a nuclear plant and make that pass as pollution, levering on the ignorance of the watchers? What's with showing tribal people living sustainably when he himself doesn't want to live like that. Who does? The documentary lacks objectivity, I assume in the desperate attempt to do something meaningful (but shallow). Although he concluded with a positive message, the rest of the video was quite the opposite and by default I don't believe the doomers.
Don Juan DeMarco (1994)
Enjoyable and so different
One of its kind. Well written and well played. If you're not a fan of romanticism you'll still be able to appreciate the subtle humor and the unique storyline if you keep an open mind.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Why is everyone weeping?
Half hour in the movie I would have rated it a 6 or a 7, and really just for the presence of Dr Strange. But then the plot got overly complicated. It's like they don't know how to write anymore so they throw in a bunch of unrelated twist and turns and then mix in the fake morality dilemma ingredient, because we live in the era of "feelings". Everyone in the movie gets a chance to weep in the face of the spectator, appalled and unentertained. Hollywood, you're a failure.
Retfærdighedens ryttere (2020)
Awesome
I loved the quirkiness and the randomness of this movie. I also loved the characters, each very different and imperfect in their human nature. They were all credible, funny and well cast. No stupid political correctness or forced diversity, just a movie to enjoy. Perhaps Hollywood should learn.
Free Guy (2021)
Two stars at best
Two stars because there were a few funny lines. Other than that, it's a movie for millennials, the non-smart of them. Does anyone know why Hollywood keeps delivering garbage?
Guess Who (2005)
Enjoyable
When movies were just for fun and entertainment and people could make jokes about each other. No parts being offended. No victimhood and no political agenda.
Dune (2021)
Overrated
Slow, dead boring and a lot of special effects. To be honest the special effects were well done and looked realistic. That's about the only positive thing I can say. So yes, 1 star it is.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
No story
I've seen worse movies but was this one hard to get through. I found the first Venom refreshing, but this, this was painful. No story. Maybe a child could find it entertaining.
Alias (2001)
Infinitely long, becomes boring
I started by liking this series but it became painfully long and boring. I mean seriously, you can't base your entire series on a pretty girl. More so an unarmed CIA agent which lacks credibility. Okay, her wig changes were fun and some of the actors were entertaining...but give me something else...
The Pacific (2010)
Dull
When you see Tom Hanks' name listed amongst the producers you know it's not going to be good. There's no real story, it's lazy writing throughout the whole series. Long glares and stares of Eugene in particular, who is not one bit likeable. You end up developing no ties with any of the characters because they are all so average. Snafu was the only one with some kind of personality. A series for the herd.
Luca (2021)
Out of context
I'm Italian and I have lived not too far from Porto Rosso. There is no history of sea monsters there, neither anywhere in Italy that I know of. The red head girl with the freckles doesn't look any what Italian. The story is stupid and completely out of context, it has nothing to do with Italian culture.
Samadhi Part 2: (It's Not What You Think) (2018)
Repetitive and unauthentic
I really had to make an effort to listen to all this nonesense put together. I mean, I guess we are all delusional in are own way, including the maker of this movie. The mind is constantly over critisized by anyone who considers himself spiritual without realizing that it's a tool, not an enemy.
Samadhi (2017)
It's okay
I get the purpose of wanting a better understanding of life and of who we are, but no one, including the director/writer of this movie, owns the truth. It's a perspective, a collection of books, religions, movies and thoughts that he is putting together. Some things said are unfounded, such as hunger in the world is increasing. It's actually decreasing. In that sense we are better off today than we were hundreds of years ago. The tone of voice tries to be persuasive, tries to put you into a meditative state but instead comes out as annoying. Overall I give it a 6/10 because there are some thoughts that are worth exploring.
The Mexican (2001)
Entertaining and light
Some over acting and over reacting from Julia Roberts, but pleasant and funny overall.
Wonder Woman (2017)
Really?
I mean, the only good thing is Gal Gadot. The script is incoherent from the first 15 min. With Diana not allowed to becoming a warrior (amongst ALL warrior women), to Diana coerced into becoming one. Like, how contorted is the director's mind?
Ojik geudaeman (2011)
If you like Hallmark movies..
The Asian equivalent of a Hallmark movie. Not particularly well acted. Predictable plot.
Glass (2019)
Pathetically awful
Slow, boring, dull and terrible acting (except for James McAvoy and Bruce Willis). Holes in the plot, no budget to hire extras. Most actors wearing ridiculous wigs. Silly ending. Wasted 2 hrs of my life.
