Kimetsu no Yaiba Kizuna no Kiseki, Soshite Hashira Geiko e (2024)
Your own fault
If you didn't know that this was a half recap half welcome to the new season "movie" then that's on you for not doing your own research. The introduction to the swordsmith village arc did the exact same thing with entertainment district so there's no reason this should be a surprise. It was nice to get to see the ending of the last season in the theater. I'm an anime only enjoyer but I have heard a small bit about what's to come and I know that this next arc is not very long so I hope we don't get a 6-7 episode season when they maybe could've rolled it into this movie and cut out the recap. My rating is for the 45 ish minutes of "episode 1" hashira training arc. There is a lot of information and overall it's kinda slow. But it's not pointless talking. It's setting up what's to come very nicely.
Sangatsu no Lion (2016)
Good not great
Feels like a story written just to test one's ability in poetry. Could've been 4 episodes shorter in the amount of time that was spent explaining the color of the sky, a river, etc.. We also get backstories of characters that we have not come to love and/or care about that play no purpose to the story once we learn more about them. It's definitely a slow, long drawn out story but also has its entertaining aspects to it. The sisters along with Nikaidou are sometimes laughable but entertaining at the very least. I'm a fan of some psychological warfare in my shows or mental games, which i was kinda expecting to get from the shogi games, then it just falls back into its pattern of poetry, drawn out scenes, and simple narration of the games being played.
Yakusoku no Neverland (2019)
Uhhh..
I decided to ignore the comments and critics about The Promised Neverland, being someone who has never read the manga. I'm not a big reader ( yeah yeah I know ) so I gave it a shot and the first season did not disappoint. The story was perfectly set up, was thrilling, all the questions that were raised were answered in unique ways adding to the story. So I binged on and watched the first season and into the second and immediately hit a wall of questions, what the heck is happening? Who is that? What time frame are we in? When did that happen? I'm not sure how it goes in the manga but there are characters that are introduced to viewers that we've never seen before and never get an explanation about. A whole year gets skipped from episode to episode and the end of the episode was a cliffhanger. Season 2 was absolutely horrendous I do not recommend. But you could honestly watch season 1 as a stand-alone and have a few remaining questions but be content w the story.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku (2021)
Stop expecting this to be what it isn't
They told us before this "season" even released that it was the movie chopped up WITH extra scenes. It's not just extra scenes. If you see something that was in the movie you can't complain.
