Mission Majnu (2023)
Bringing the moles out of their holes
Mission Majnu is a gripping and well-crafted film that tells the story of India's covert operation in the 1970s to extract a high-ranking Soviet official. The film is expertly directed and the performances are top-notch. The pacing is perfect, keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire film. The attention to detail in the set and costume design is impressive, immersing you in the era. I highly recommend Mission Majnu to anyone looking for a thrilling and well-made film.
This an excellent film portraying a morally and economically bankrupt nation and its people steeped in deep inferiority complex and ideology of terrorism.
Watch this film for the spycraft depicted despite the limitations of filmmaking portraying off limit sites such as nuclear installations. Siddharth is excellent in his role and so are much of the supporting cast.
The script could have been tighter and the film could have benefited from tighter editing
As to the low rating reviews, most of them are by residents of the nation mentioned above, the disgruntled pakistanis.
Vir Das: Landing (2022)
Too Comedian For Comedy
I had the misfortune of seeing this title land on my netflix homepage.
Thought of giving it a try and it was easily the worst comedy show I have ever seen, no exceptions. Not only were the jokes unfunny and stale, but he/she/her/they seemed completely disinterested in performing comedy and barely even tried. Most of the jokes are cheap tik-tok copies.
Agreed that it is not a live show but to engage more in rhetorical politics than to be genuinely funny is even worse for a scripted comedy.
The only highlight of the evening was when I decided to quit nearly three quarters in and spared myself any more of this politician's painfully unentertaining set.
Save your time and avoid this terrible politician at all costs.
Dobaaraa (2022)
Save two hours of your life
And watch the original Spanish version if you have to. Really bad actors in the hindi version and the sets look tacky. Story drags on insulting the iq of the viewer.
No Time to Die (2021)
Still kicking myself in he teeth for spending money on this mediocre film
This is not a James Bond film by any stretch of imagination. The villain is boring, the 007 is completely useless, the storyline is everywhere, the melodrama is too masala bollywood and Bond, well, he has retired, and aged, and it shows. For a full 164 minutes. Midway through, I was praying for it to end sooner.
Navarasa (2021)
why do they even hire siddharth?
For all its hype and relentless online marketing, Navarasa definitely scores quite low for its technical quality and production design. In fact almost all of its nine stories, put together has a runtime of 5 hours, and has a very few parallels on the rubbish technical side in Kollywood. The screenplay and writing has more misses than hits, no stories intrigued the viewers minds, while offering nothing new and are just boring and a makes a painful watch.
Actor Vijay Sethupathi's talents goes under utilised here.
Siddharth should not even be considered for any roles. He's the weakest link.
Madam Chief Minister (2021)
Good premise but let down by shoddy acting
Richa Chadha has as much acting skills as a wooden boat.
Sheer waste of talents like Nikhil Vijay, Manav Kaul, Saurabh Shukla
Available on Netflix. Don't watch.
