Moon Knight: Gods and Monsters (2022)
Confused
I don't really know how to review this episode.
First off on a story basis, this definitely wasn't as disappointing as let's say the "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" or "Hawkeye". At least the story felt mostly wrapped up. They also didn't do an painfully obvious "twist"-villian reveal like Sharon Carter as the Power Broker or Kingpin in "Hawkeye". The acting in this episode was as great as ever. I especially wanna praise the fantastic voice acting by F. Murray Abraham. He brings so much character threw his voice.
However I still have mixed feelings about this episode. That is for example because this episode feels like the most comedic episode in the series, which is jarring when following the rather dark episodes before it. Especially Episodes 4 and five were some of the darkest stories told in the MCU. Episode 2 had similar problems as the finale, however that felt more like a dark story with some badly integrated comedic moments. This episode felt mostly comedic, with some dark/serious moments sprinkled in. I'm also not sure what I think about them bringing Steven back. Although I do like him, it does somewhat take away from the emotion of his loss. The CGI was very lacking at points and honestly the CGI was already one of my biggest problems with the show.
I'm sure fans of the Jake Lockley character cheered during the post-credit scene. I unfortunately didn't get to the comic runs with his character yet. However as soon as I have the time, I will.
I will give it a 6.5 rounded up to a 7/10 on IMDB.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Cut and Run (2021)
A great episode
This was a slow episode, but I don't hold that against it. On the contrary this episode made us see the world threw Omega's eyes. This was the first time Omega was outside of Camino and her reactions to the most mundane things were very realistic, since this was the first time ever she had the chance to just be a kid.
I also would like to mention the amazing dynamic between Hunter and Omega. Hunter really stuggles to accept the role he now has to play on top of running from a forming empire.
Echo was unfortunately a bit sidelined again, but I don't begrudge the creators that they want to give spotlight first to the relatively new characters.
All in all I am excited for comes next.
