Rap Sh!t (2022)
Praise for black writers
Issa Rae's humor and talent shines once again through black comedy series writing. Representing female rappers, friendship and ad(dick)tion Rap Sh! T plays as a watchful day to day comedy drama through the double entendre of a camera and an iphone camera.
Christina P.: Mom Genes (2022)
Carina P's New Special Deserves 10/10
I can't believe Hitler got me to cry about her mom this special. I've followed CP for years and seen her 2019 where she worked out some material that pops into Mom genes! Really a wonderful woman who advocates for resilience and farts in the face of the Man. Tommy's really going to love on her big sloppers after this killer. Heyyyyy Christinnnaaaaa!!!
Jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy (2022)
We are Kanye
Really well narrated and captivating life of Kanye. After seeing him through a more transparent lens on Rogan I gained much more respect for the artist who set the foundation for Hip Hop as we know it today. His trajectory is astronomical and should not be ignored. We are not more normal or more "sane" than Kanye. We walk his same earth, sing his songs, wear his clothes, chant his gospel. We are Kanye. We watch him with an ultrafocus of judgement and blind eye to his presence that what we're forgetting is he doesn't see us watching- and yes, it's because he chooses not too. Kanye is doing what we all wish to accomplish in a millennium. However, most of us don't know how to turn a blind eye to judgement and criticism. So the one who does not hear the noise inevitably and deservingly gets to see their dreams flourish.
Taylor Tomlinson: Look at You (2022)
Go Taylor, Go!!
I'm so happy for Taylor! She so deserves a Netflix special. It's been real great watching her grow and understand herself. Her comedy has evolved admirably and as an individual has grown wonderfully from her guest appearance on Your Moms House to Good For You.
Euphoria (2019)
Season finale flop
Another season finale flop. Seemed rushed and in your face. I am happy an 8 minute musical didn't cap the last episode. Since we're expecting a season 3, why did it end without a cliffhanger like all 7 episodes before?
Bel-Air (2022)
Terrible start to a prequel
An Idris reference by Will at a young age? Strange.
Live instagram?
The plot opens too quick. Why do Jazz and Will already know each other?
Weed ... ok.
The Power of the Dog (2021)
Syked out
I was bamboozled
Me- not expecting the movie to end: "I wonder what the rope is going to mean."
TPOTD- cut to black.
Welcome back Kirsten Dunst and of course an outstanding Cumberbatch performance that is Mc-Caun-A-Hee level.
Ricky Velez: Here's Everything (2021)
10/10 the review below are trash
I don't know who's drinking the kool-aid in the comments below but this special is outstanding. Tickles to stomach that erupt into bursts of laughter every bit. The stories are relatable and clearly true. This is an underrated special. Anyone who doesn't get it should leave.
The Unforgivable (2021)
Sandra cries for 2hours
I don't think a 7.2 is right for this movie. Popped up as #1 in US on Netflix. Another Sandra Suffering film? 5 stars. The final scene isn't compelling nor does it wrap the storyline that well.
