Miracle Landing (1990)
amazing movie, one of the best
This is one of the best dramas of a real disaster ever made and very emotional/touching. Very tense and thrilling and shows backstories for the crew and you really feel like you are there. There are times that are really nerve wracking and the film is just so well made. There are many 1980s staples who star in this movie as well.
The movie is based off the real incident that occured in the 80s on a aloha air flight which happened exactly like this movie. Sadly, like the movie, CB Lansing was sucked out of the plane when she went to investigate the crack after being alerted to it by a passenger. Rest in peace CB. This movie is how drama movies on air disasters should be.
Maude: The Household Feud (1977)
One of the reasons the ratings dropped and the show ended
Writing out Mrs Naugatuck is why the show ratings suddenly dropped and bea Arthur walked away from the show at the end of season 6. Terrible mistake and season 6 (the next and final season) definitely suffers from it.
227: Jackée (1989)
I can see why it wasn't picked up for a full series.
The overall plot and idea of a show surrounding the character Sandra (played by Jackee) would be a good one since she was the best character in 227. But all of her supporting characters in "Jackee" really brought this pilot down. Like NBC did with golden girls spinoff Empty Nest, the pilot should have been completely reworked and reshot with a different plotline and supporting cast. Sandra was great in the pilot, but the rest of her supporting cast was not. They were boring and didn't provide much to the show. And because of this pilot, Sandra is written out of the final half of season 5 which unfortunately was the final season of 227 which means Sandra just "disappeared" after a certain point. Bummer.
The Golden Girls: Not Another Monday (1989)
The best episode in the series
This episode is a very good wake up call to all who are suicidal. There are people who will listen you just have to find them (and they are there).
The scene where Sophia talks her friend Martha out of commiting suicide was definitely deserving of an Emmy award.
This is by far the best, and my favorite episode. I tear up Everytime listening to the conversations between Sophia and Martha.
