While the costumes and settings are gorgeous, it tries too hard as it aspires to recreate what has already been accomplished by Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Murdock Mysteries, any Agatha Christie movie or series (especially the FANTASTIC Poirot) or even a James Bond wanna-be, to name just a few which were done far better. I wanted to like it, but simply could not as there is nothing here that is the least bit original. Absolutely nothing original. I agree with other reviewers about too many chase scenes, too many scenes which dragged out and nothing original. I am stretching this review just as the movie stretched needlessly due to this site's requirements of a minimum number of words....ugh!
