H. P. Lovecraft's the Old Ones (2024)

Giddy fun.

:) A rollicking ridiculous cosmic horror road riff, this B movie gets an A. Tongue-in-cheek, timeless, pedal to the metal, with lore and gore and creatures galore, this unique daffy adventure put a goofy open smile on my face.

It's so enjoyable to see an independent genre concoction that feels like it's being informed by a filmmaker following their bliss.

As well as a fun cutloose star vehicle for great American acting treasure Robert Miano who can be in anything from THE BOOK OF DANIEL to FAST & FURIOUS to GIRLS TRIP to DEATH WISH to DONNIE BRASCO and anything in between.

Whether you're into Lovecraft or not, whether you've seen THE DEEP ONES or not, whether you consider yourself a fan of horror or not, whether you want to laugh with a movie or at it or near it or whichever preposition you prefer, there's 84 minutes of giddy fun here.

For real: If you like twisted, subversive, giddily lurid, dark popcorn entertainment, this is a new movie specifically for you in this uptight sociological climate. A savvy, audacious, triumphantly grotesque, politically incorrect concoction made by and for people who like movies, this is abberation-laced candy for the psyche, but you can handle it; you're a big girl/boy/person. You may resume proper decorum and good taste as soon as it's over. ;)

A riotously entertaining classic drive-in creature feature horror movie. Strange, fantastical, gripping, funny, head trippy, suspenseful, sexy, knowingly kitschy, nostalgic, this R-rated pulpy offering is a hoot. In this trying world, the public deserves and needs escapist fare like this that converts fear into fun. Watch with a friend.
