Just Right. (in some areas)
On February 13th, 2009 another horror remake was brought to the new generation of horror fans. As there are ups, there are downs that come along for the ride.
The storyline that is hidden under the CGI graphic violence and hot co- eds is an interesting plot outline that has not been used yet. I am a fan of the old classic ones and this version isn't one but at least the first four films joined into one feature, which I mentioned earlier "has not been used yet."
Five young adults that end up camping near the infamous Camp Crystal Lake have no idea the dangerous machete-wielding maniac Jason Voorhees living there is unhappy with the intrusion and dices them all but one victim(Whitney) who Jason takes as prisoner. Six weeks later the older brother of the girl(Clay) comes to seek her, then in the meantime another group of young adults come to spend vacation in a cabin also near the camp which once again makes Mr. Voorhees unhappy. Later when Clay comes to the cabin to get any information on his sister, reliable Jenna offers to help him search. But when those from the group of young adults start getting slaughtered, Clay, Jenna, and the group face great danger which is for some where the fun begins.
One of the positives I see is an acceptable script, the negative is the nudity/sex that is way over the top explicit that I certainly wasn't expecting. The violence was just right where I expected with a few bizarre bloodbaths (the screwdriver scene).
It will be best to keep this away from the kids, not recommended for everyone so the very squeamish should move this along but horror fans should give it a chance.
Rated R for: Graphic Violence, Adult Language, Adult Content, Nudity, Strong Sexual Content.(HBO advisory)
Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Cave of Two Lovers (2006)
A true love story
This episode is one of my favorites in the whole series, basically because Aang and Katara travel alone through "The Cave of Two Lovers" and we see their relationships being revealed. I love the part where they both kiss and the cave lights up a path towards the exit. In the meantime Sokka travels with a bunch of hippie-like nomads who he gets annoyed by, since they always sing and who aren't very smart.
Also this episode is like a reference to William Shakespears "Romeo & Juliet". Since this episode tells a story about two lovers who meet each other and both fall in love. One problem for the couple is that the two villages each one is from both hate each other which makes the relationship between the lovers very complicated.
I hate to spoil the rest so I will leave it at that. But this is a sweet and funny Avatar episode which should be known as "A True Love Story." 5 stars!
Pet Sematary (1989)
Okay film
I am a big fan of Stephen King, and this film was okay i would say. The only problem with the film is that nothing actually happened until the end. Except that this film was very well done and also the film gets depressing at some parts and also creepy. I will give a 7 star rating.
I tried to read the book once but i never got to finish it mostly because i forgot about it i guess. i would say that the graphic in it is not as good as Sleepwalkers though, yet another Stephen King film about creature like vampires that are afraid of cats who are also very strong creatures that can rip you apart. U should also see this film as well if you like graphic violence and gore.
The Sandlot (1993)
how can i have some more of nothing?
I totally love this movie, it is one great film for the whole family to enjoy, at least for those baseball lovers. I have watched this movie dozens of times and i don't get tired of it.
The one part i like in "The Sandlot" is when they're roasting marshmallow's in the tree house.(i shouldn't spoil it for you people that haven't seen this movie yet, but it's so great and funny)
There are some funny parts and gross parts like the boys chew tobacco and puke on a carnival ride, trying to get a baseball that wen't over a fence and try many different things, and also Wendy Capricorn. You will find out about her in the movie.
This movie is based around 1962 and shows a lot of baseball and learning how to play.
This is one of my most favorite movies of all time, plus "James Earl Jones" makes a perfect Mr. Mertle. (also if you like adventure movies i would recommend checking out "The Goonies")
