Nowhere (2023)
Left an Impression
I'll preface this by saying that while many of the film's elements are implausible. I don't think it is a deal-breaker for this movie.
This film has made its case. It leaves an impression. It is novel and is about humanity, which we need.
As one other reviewer mentioned, it is the kind of film you put on to be background noise, but end up sitting down and watching from start to finish. It is tragic and quite beautifully shot. You will think about it the next day.
I found myself cringing for some of Mia's actions. I found myself yelling at her ("bail!..keep bailing!..plug that one!..crikey, get prepped for tomorrow!..") and there were several elements that were frankly, not needed (such as the phone calls).
But all of this aside, the beauty of the ocean, the logistics and tactics employed by Mia, the ever present worry for Noa, this film tempts you to plan your own survival.
Hunter: 62 Hrs. of Terror (1986)
Fun LA tour montage towards the end
This was a really fun episode of Hunter, towards the end there is a great montage tour of LA while Hunter and McCall tail the bad guy of the week. The two leads had really found their stride and the hand-offs between L56 and L57 were on-point.
