Sisu (2022)

The movie gets worst as it progresses

It was interesting at the beginning of the movie, but it gets less and less watchable.

In someway, Sisu reminded me of Rambo II. The protagonist was pitted against enormous odds but somehow he came out ahead at the end. But in Rambo II, even he got captured when the situation became impossible. But in Sisu, he just kept going with no regard to any sort of reality.

I think the movie can be made without these crazy unrealistic situations. He could have been made to be very skillful and lucky. But for him to have survived a landmine blast while on a horse is just too much.

Perseverance is all good but this is just too much for me.

All Quiet on the Western Front (2022)

Good but not great

The movie was well made and conveyed the "war is hell" message with great effect.

I don't know how accurate of all the scenes are, but I'd assume they are accurate enough. I do think it was clear that generals being far removed from the actual fighting, cared little about the welfare of his troops.

While I did like the movie, and again I think it was well made; I don't consider this a a great movie. Perhaps other war movies have dulled my senses (Saving Private Ryan, Generation War for example), so there isn't much to discover here.

I am rather surprised that being so late in the war, the headmaster would still make a speech like that to incite students to join up.

Significant Other (2022)

I'd give it a 6.5

It's a pretty good movie, while no Oscar material.

The plot is not new and has been used in many movies before, but Significant Other was done way better than average.

This is like the Blob 1988. A bit of a cheesy plot and OK acting but not a bad movie to watch.

The special effects were good, but not top notch. Really wasn't expecting multi millions CGI.

The misdirection was done very nicely. I wasn't expecting that; although it was somewhat obvious after the fact.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a sequel. The ending scene had enough hooks for the story to continue. It would be nice to see how the main characters develop.

Men (2022)

Decent first 3/4 but bad toward the end

The movie was interesting and engrossing as started. As the audience was led to the meat of the story, it began to get weird.

The last 1/4 of the movie just got more difficult to understand. Perhaps I just didn't grasp the symbolism or whatever the writers wanted to show us.

Dual (2022)

Very watchable

It's not for everyone, I'd admit.

If you enjoyed "the art of self defense", I think you would like this movie.

I think the title is clever, having a dual meaning.

Ambulance (2022)

Couldn't finish

I was looking forward to the chase scene, but just couldn't bring myself to continue watching the movie.

It just seems asinine that a lot of planning had gone in, but somehow everything just went wrong.

This movie reminded me of Reservoir Dogs but less than half as good.

Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)

I had high hopes before watching this as the rating was off the charts.

While the plot was easy to understand, I think the switching back and forth was too rapid and disorganized for me.

The Contractor (2022)

Decent action, which is hard to do. You want enough actions to be exciting but not too much to be boring. The plot is average; not totally believable, yet not too far fetched.

Moonfall (2022)

All fiction works require the audience to stretch their imagination. This movie takes it to another level.

When the suspension of disbelief is done nicely (as in Star Wars), the audience is happy to be led into a fantasy world. Moonfall, on the other hand is just annoying.

Deep Water (I) (2022)

Watchable but you'd feel a bit angry

This movie is like going on a date with an excellent potential, only to come home alone.

I found the movie suspenseful; I was engaged with the story and wanted to find out more. But as if the writers ran out of material to properly close out the story.

I enjoyed the 1st half way more than the 2nd half.

Fresh (2022)

Very watchable yet predictable

I would classify this as creepy.

Not really sure what genre this should fit into; not exactly horror or suspense but a combination of the two, I'd think.

This movie is a sore disappointment.

With a great cast of female actors, it's difficult to understand why such a weak plot?

It's OK if the plot isn't original, as long as the execution was crisp and good. This wasn't it.

Last Survivors (2021)

Halfway decent

If you have nothing else to watch, this is not too terrible a choice.

Not the best plot but not impossible, I'd think.

This movie requires the audience to have a leap of faith.

The Matrix Resurrections (I) (2021)

Not as bad as you think

No Matrix sequels were as good the the original. This one is no exception.

While this was a bit long, I think it will get better if you can watch it a couple more times later - there were just too much information. I thought the previous two sequels were not very good, but I have since changed my mind. They were still no as good but not as bad as some people claimed.

An excellent movie of late.

Not ha ha funny, but ironic and humorous at the same time.

Not much downtime or boring scenes.

The writers intention was to the point and is reflective of current events.

Like other have said, the first half was different and very good. Unexpected plot that turned into a mushy second half.
