Sackboy: A Big Adventure (2020)
Good gameplay but missing something
As someone who grew up playing the Little Big Planet games throughout my childhood, I was very excited when Sackboy: A Big Adventure was announced. After playing the game all the way through, I felt that it was fun but missing something. After playing the original Little Big Planet for a couple hours, it hit me. Yes the gameplay is good, but you had to pay in game currency (of which you could spend real world currency to acquire if obtaining it in game isn't your style) to get customization items for your Sackboy. What I'm trying to say is that this game is just going through the motions, it's missing the love, and child like wonder of the original Little Big Planet trilogy. It wasn't just a gigantic toy box for you to play in, I didn't spend hours trying to make the coolest costume before even jumping into the first level, and there is no hub world that you can customize for downtime between levels. Trying to see how much stickers you can put on the walls. It's a shell of what the original games were, with strong gameplay, but no substance.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023)
Horrible, but fun horrible
This movie is terrible, but it's so fun to watch, it's made so cheaply and it works out for them because it turns out being funny in that way. The Dhar Mann level acting and how slow Piglet and Pooh move throughout the movie makes this a treat. Filled with the cliche kill fodder with good looking girls in an off the grid vacation, all along with the unnecessary nudity. Every kill is horribly paced and painfully slow. They didn't make a bad movie to make a bad movie, they wanted it to be good, but they ended up making a 'its so bad it's good' movie. A torture porn movie if there ever was one. It's not a movie that you can break down for an essay in a film class or a YouTube video, but instead a movie to watch on a night drinking with your friends.
