Twisted Metal (2023)
It's just awesome
I went into this show not expecting much. To be honest I didn't even realize it was a series until I decided to watch it.
Best decision I've made in a while. I was born in the 90s so obviously the nostalgia gets to me. But besides that the show itself it's very well done.
Great acting, not just from the lead roles but even the people with smaller parts do an outstanding job.
The music is 10/10. As soon as I heard the Thong song I knew I had to write this review.
Surprisingly they don't use as much CGI as you'd expect considering todays standards, which is great to watch and keeps you wanting to watch more.
Even if you never played the game you can watch the show. The game(s) were fantastic but there wasn't a story, so given the fact they had to come up with something on their own they did a great job.
I'd give it a 10 but it's only been one season.
Fear (2023)
The only thing to Fear, is how bad this movie is
This movie is one of the worst things I've ever seen. From the acting to the dialogue to the overall plot, it's just a train-wreck from beginning to start.
It's essentially cabin in the woulds but the virus is COVID. I think one of the worst parts about the movie is the fact that they could have possibly done something ok with the premise of everyone's individual fear. However they choose to avoid that completely and go with a pretty lame and already done concept instead.
Also I'm not a fan of when movies try and save money by making all the night scenes so dark you can barely see anything. It's not scary it's just frustrating to watch.
You People (2023)
Kenya Barris just needs come out and say he hates white people
I was wondering why this movie seemed like so many other terribly most black casted movies or shows, and he's the reason why.
Can someone tell him you can't fight racism with more racism.
The whole movie is painful to watch. If you're white you're wondering why every other line is a dig at white people.
If you're if your black you're wondering why did they portray us as people who blame white people for everything.
If done correctly and in moderation this can be very funny. But it's not when you clearly have some deep rooted hatred that you need to express in every single movie or show you make.
I'm giving it a 4 because even though Jonah Hill was a writer and could of done something to change this... he really couldn't of. So he just had to sit there and take it.
I feel bad for him. I feel bad for anyone who watches this movie. This stuff really sets everyone back and does nothing positive for race relations. And at the very least if you're gonna do all this at least make it funny.
Kaleidoscope (2023)
Its just ok. Not great but not horrible
It's obvious that Netflix has decided to just stick a few plots when creating series. One of the most prominent being Heists.
I may be a bit biased because heist movies to me follow a cooker cutter formula. The twists are no longer twists because it's all be done before.
The positive about this series is the acting. But I think it stops there. Apparently you can watch any episode in any order and you get a different experience every time - this is not true.
The episodes essentially just show the characters bask story as to why they're doing this, with about 15 minutes of police work to stop this heist.
In the end, it all ends the same. I appreciate what they tried to do but they didn't do it well.
Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)
How do I give this a negative rating?
It's really become a shame what production companies are doing to cult classics.
There's a million terrible reviews already and rightfully so.
My biggest thing with this movie is I'm fairly confident if 95-100% of the movie is filmed behind a green screen. And since no one ever seems to use practical effects anymore, they just CGI the rest. And it is bad.
You have to be immersed into a horror film in order to build suspense and fear. How is it possible with terrible CGI and clearly being in front of a green screen? Nothing is scary because it's so obviously fake.
Please please for the love God please just let Jeepers Creepers die in peace. They're notoriously "bad movies" but that's what makes them good.
This is simply bad in all the wrong ways.
28 Days Haunted (2022)
Imagine actually believing any of this is real
So the show is so bad it's not that bad. I can't stop laughing the entire time.
These people are "experts" and have "done this for over 20 years"
Sometimes I feel like I've wasted a lot of life. This show made me realize I haven't. I'm not stupid enough to waste my life investigating something that is 1000% fake.
Ghosts aren't real. And they are they're definitely not on this or any show.
Basically if you fall for any of this there's something wrong with you. All the stuff that happens because of the "ghosts" is just the people saying stuff happened to them.
Examples:
- "Something just touches me" yet you see no movement on clothing of the part they were touched
- the investigators tell you everything the ghosts are saying. They also have "ghost equipment" that perfectly says stuff like "leave now" "get out" and for some reason "no escape" (why the hell would the ghosts say leave now and no escape right after LOL)
All in all if you wanna laugh at how stupid this is by all means watch it.
Chainsaw Man (2022)
I don't care if it's just the first episode, this show is amazing
I was really worried about this when I first saw it was coming out. You never know what to expect when they turn it into an anime.
They did not disappoint.
The animation is top tier. Its so fluid and the way they combine that with the cinematography it just leaves you wanting more.
Not to mention the obvious. There's a decent amount of action in the first episode and they nailed the it perfectly.
The only other show I can think of that got me this hyped after the first episode was AOT. But to clarify this has much more action.
Maybe I'm being a bit premature and presumptuous because it's literally just been one episode but I'm willing to put money on it; this is gonna be amazing.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
I'm so bored....
Maybe the 1 star rating is a bit harsh but two episodes in, nothing has happened.
Visually it looks great especially the cgi but it's incredibly dull. Maybe it gets better but it hasn't done enough to get me excited to keep watching.
Everyone kinda talks in this "I'm better than everyone" British accent which gives the show one tone throughout all the dialogue despite what's happening or who's speaking.
I think the best thing to do is either wait until the entire season is out, or maybe just don't watch this at all. It's really hard to get through, but great to watch if you want to fall asleep.
Tekken: Bloodline (2022)
The only problem is they need more episodes
Let's start off by acknowledging how often Netflix ruins video game series. Resident evil is a prime example of how terrible they can be.
This is not that. It's exactly what Tekken should be. I like this style of animation. Fight scenes are well animated. It looks like (so far) they put actual effort in and did this right.
Only issue for me is it's only 6 episodes. So far so good but it's a small sample to judge fairly.
Side note: although they do usually ruin video game adaptations, PLEASE do yourself a favour and watch Castlevania on Netflix. Easily the best video game adaptation they've ever done. Maybe Tekken in time will pass them.
Time will tell.
Day Shift (2022)
Surprisingly Good, Fight scenes are very good
Positives:
- recognizable actors, good acting
- plot isn't completely insufferable to get through
- the fight scenes are dope. I mean seriously the scene where they join the two brothers and fight a good 15 vampires in the house was very well choreographed and filmed.
Negatives:
- it's a vampire movie. Nothing about is original. It's basically a normal movie combined with any movie where partners who don't seem to get along at first become best friends by the end
- kinda confused about the sunlight situation. There's certain parts where the sunlight should kill them and doesn't. It's never explain why.
Overall thought definitely worth watching even if it's just for action and fight scenes.
The Bear (2022)
Jeremy Allen White needs and Emmy for this
The show is great. It's not overly complicated, the cinematography is fantastic, and every actor does a great job in their own way. Nice added bonus (so far) haven't noticed any extreme force feed wokeness because it doesn't need it.
But we really gotta talk about JAW. This is easily his best performance ever, and he did amazing in shameless. As someone who watches way too many cooking shows I can assure you he nails the chef character perfectly.
If he doesn't win an award for his performance it would be a damn shame.
My only point against the show is there's not much to expect for next season. The entire season is good but I'm just wondering how many seasons a concept like this can last.
Community: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (2011)
Why is this banned Lmfao Netflix is a joke
I love the show. I think it's extremely underrated. I was just rewatching it and noticed that (on Netflix) the episode is removed....
Why not remove every episode??? Someone had to help me here, how is this offensive. Because Chevy Chase isn't nice to fat Niel? I mean FFS they have bullying in seminar a street... and in the end every works out so why in earth would this episode be banned????
Seriously is this episode is offensive than everything is offensive. Which means nothing is. Don't think people are just rating this episode high because it's banned; it's really is a great episode and if you've never seen it and can't now because it's banned on Netflix find it somewhere online and watch it.
Woke community is grasping at straws, when will companies stop bowing down to them?
Nope (2022)
Every single movie with the race stuff Lmfao
Can Peele make a single movie and not heavily involve race?
It's become his crutch. Every single movie he puts out, he has to include that aspect in it. And I think the reason is because he's not good enough to write a movie without it.
He relies on the fact this is what's popular now and has been since his first film in 2017. You never want to be one trick pony and this confirms he is. Sorta like how every Michael Bay film is just a series of actions shots and explosions with no plot.
Or how M night thinks the more twist the better the movie.
Just try something else once. See if you can do it.
Prey (2022)
So many holes
I get that it's a movie about an alien so you have to assume there's gonna be inaccuracies, but the stuff that should be accurate isn't.
Where are they? The Comanche tribe settled in what's now Texas/Oklahoma so the setting doesn't match at all. They also would of fought of Spanish settlers not French. So where is the movie supposed to be?
The tomahawk thing clearly was just put in the movie to look cool or something I have no idea. Basic physics makes it completely impossible and it didn't have much relevance to the story anyways so to be honest it's just really stupid.
Finally, and this is what really makes this movie garbage, is how the hell can she kill predator yet she couldn't even fight off a bear? Even the way she kills it doesn't make sense. Would of been better just to pretend it drowns in the mud and dies.
Just let the franchise die if you're gonna try and revive it like this.
The Sandman (2022)
If you liked the Witcher you will like this, and if you don't...
I wasn't really sure what to expect from this show. The ambience, the feel, the visual effects are 10/10 without any questions. It's very good show to watch but in a literal visual sense.
The acting as good as well, although it seems like they told everyone to sort speak in one tone the whole time. Bit dry.
The story again isn't bad but it just seems like it's a very slow ride and kinda leaves you wondering where this is going. I think a fair comparison to this is the Witcher.
Personally I feel the exact same way about this show as I did with the Witcher. So in the end if you loved the Witcher you should love this, if you didn't then this isn't for you.
Resident Evil (2022)
Everything about this is wrong
I've never wanted the zombies to kill all the humans when I've watched zombie shows in the past, then this came out.
You don't feel any suspense or fear because you can't get emotionally attached to any character. Its unrealistic and it's about zombies so that's saying a lot.
Resident Evil is a personal favourite franchise of mine but this might be the worst thing they've ever put out... which is also saying a lot.
The Boys: The Instant White-Hot Wild (2022)
I'm not mad I'm disappointed
This season overall has been pretty good. They built it behind the story of Solider Boy, Noir, and Pop-Pop (that's not her name but the head popping girl) but where the end off at the end of the episode doesn't make sense.
Noir was finally getting some backstory and depth. And they killed him off in an extremely anticlimactic way. Also why did he remove his tracker? I still don't get that. Seemed like they had something going with him and decided to be lazy instead.
Solider Boy didn't die. Ended up basically where he started. For someone who was in so much of the season they basically just had him go film circle. Very boring.
Pop-Pop was focused on a lot in the beginning and just fizzled away as the season went on. But at the end she's now running for VP.
So to sum it up, it just leaves you feeling like this was a waste of a season. They could pretty much start off season 4 where season 2 ended and nothing would of changed.
Tomodachi Game (2022)
The 7.4 rating makes 0 sense
I'll be quick here. Watch this. It's a mix of death note and squid game But it's unique in its own way. I wasn't hooked after the first episode I will say that, but by the 3rd I was completely hooked.
It only gets better.
Bill Burr Presents: Friends Who Kill (2022)
Why Bill? Just why?
This is as painful to write as it was to (attempt, I just couldn't force myself through all of it) watch.
Bill Burr is one of my favourite comedians and truly great at what he does.
This is just sad. Considering has really funny stand ups even just on Netflix.... This makes no sense to me.
He really needs a new special (by himself) to attempt to redeem himself and get back to the Bill Burr we all know and love.
Don't watch this. Im sorry if you did.
Ricky Gervais: SuperNature (2022)
One of the funniest things I've seen ever
This truly is top tier comedy. Ricky is very intelligent and articulate with his choice of words. He starts it off explaining, because in 2022 we need to do this unfortunately, that he's going to say extremely offensive jokes and why it's ok to laugh at them.
You know you can laugh because we as humans have the ability to determine right from wrong. A lot of other specials always seem to focus on political or current news which is tiring and overdone. It's refreshing to here these type of jokes.
I hope we see him do something soon like this again.
Jackass 4.5 (2022)
Don't waste your time, it's over
The heading says it all.
The .5 movies are already not so great.
This one is basically 90% talking and 10% boring stunts.
I get they need money but they need to just let jackass die.
You're welcome for saving you an hour and a half of your life.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
I never thought a bad movie could make me hate the entire series
It's really that bad. There's no plot. Nothing makes sense. It's basically just the original matrix horribly rehashed to try and appease people in 2021. If you could use one word to describe the movie it's easy: Cringe.
Dave: Dave (2021)
One of the greatest episodes of all time
Not just the series, I mean seriously all time. It's hard really describe without ruining it but everything works perfectly. There's nothing to change about the episode. This show and especially this episodes gives me hope for the future. Just watch it and thank me later.
