The Stranger (2020)
Great show until...
I was intrigued by the concept of the show from the beginning . There were so many floating pieces by episode 5, I couldn't wait until I they revealed how everything will be linked in the end. But the last episode felt so rushed and the ending was like done by a rookie? It was like someone was making the show and they dropped the show in the middle of the last episode and someone volunteered to finish the show. It did not make any sense atall! May be I have watched way too many crime shows and documentaries but what they did in the end was so freaking naive. It felt like having the best night with your friends dancing and drinking, until on your ride back home someone throws up on you. Ugh!!! Annoying and frustrating!
Capturing the Friedmans (2003)
Disturbing..
It was a very tough watch considering the details shared throughout the documentary. I usually like watching documentaries and stumbled upon this after watching the jinx, which was amazing btw. But I am not sure about this one. It was made well but honestly I wish I hadn't watched it. I am feeling very disturbed at the moment.
Sophie: A Murder in West Cork (2021)
Sad and frustrating
It starts off strong and at the end of every episode I am left wanting to know more. Documentary itself is done very well but in the end I feel so very sad for the family and frustrated by the way the investigation unfolds. There were a few things I would have liked to know about like dna testing, polygraph tests. Also basic forensics like was there skin found from her nails? Was that taken for dna? I am no cop or detective but these are the basics details attached to a murder case. It's a good watch for one time but keep in mind you would be frustrated with the incompetence and injustice.
