Amadeus (1984)
Beautiful Composition on Every Level
I am absolutely allergic to calling anything a favorite; it's just too singular, too limiting. People always ask "your favorite food, favorite actor, favorite dog," etc., and to everyone's annoyment I steadfastly refuse to pick one favorite of anything. I don't do favorites, totally resist anything that labels and pigeonholes me to a spot.
Until I saw Amadeus.
I honestly cannot contain my love and enthusiasm for this amazingly beautiful movie. I do not need a gun to my head to claim my all-time favorite movie, hands down, the one and only Amadeus.
(Still, I have no ability whatsoever to pick a favorite food, actor, dog, or anything else.)
A Letter to True (2004)
Watch it for the music
The wonderful music kept me in this movie. Especially the tenor sax, my "true" love.
Interesting but disconnected vignettes held together only by melodious bonds.
