This is my favorite of the 2022 Hallmark Christmas movies. If I really worked at it, I could find a flaw or two, but I enjoyed this movie so thoroughly I'll just give it a 10. First, I love the "Time to Come Home" series with all its variations. And each year's adaptation is better than the year before. This "Time for Him" story is cleverly done, loaded with red herrings and misunderstandings, which classifies it more as a Movie and Mystery pick, not a straight Hallmark love story. All the cast are excellent and the script is well written. The signature song and melody don't disappoint, and I hope Hallmark continues to develop this motif.

The premise was ok - widow can't accept that her missing husband is lost forever. But the execution did not prepare me for the lead balloon finale. (Not to mention the missing hubbie portrayed a murderous tough guy for years on "how to get away with Murder.") My sympathies were totally with Pierce. The Bedtime stories gave the history of her prior relationship and marriage, and there was the missing gold bell to remind her of those days. But if she were going to have doubts, surely she'd have had them before accepting a new engagement. Sorry! I just found the whole movie to be incongruous. The ending removed all enjoyment, so this will not be one of those that I'll watch again.

Critics need to remember this movie is based on one novel, not 11! I thought it was a treat to see Penny's characters come to life, even though they didn't exactly meet my expectations. Her Gamache novels are murder mysteries, after all, and while the movie doesn't have the books' atmospheric quality, it does a fine job with the characters and the plot. Looking forward to another!

I love Luke MacFarlane in many roles but not this one. First, Hallmark should have chosen an actor who could be more convincing with a Southern accent. I'm happy Hallmark is trying to incorporate more diversity, but it still needs to be believable and this was not. There was so much going on in this movie that I found myself distracted by trying to figure out all the relationships. Finally, Luke is not believable as a country star, whereas Heather is brilliant. They seem unequal in that respect.
