Stuart Saves His Family (1995)
Truly A Moving Film
Like Shirley Temple and Pollyanna, Stuart Smalley melts the coldest of hearts in this touching dramatic comedy about a lonely man living with the pain of a sad childhood with his dysfunctional family and having to deal with that family through many tragedy's. This film will tug at your heart like no other.
Cabin Boy (1994)
An Epic Adventure
In the tradition of Homer and Conrad, Cabin Boy tells the epic story of a young man embarking on an adventure of mythic proportions. Chris Elliot portrays young Nathaniel, the son of a wealthy man who is accidentally stranded on a ship with rogue fisherman. Throughout the edge of your seat adventures encountered during the journey through the legendary Hell's Bucket, we witness Nathaniel attain manhood and grow as a character. This is truly a film like no other.
Star Wars: Droids (1985)
Fun Star Wars Cartoon
This was a fun cartoon series, with cool stories and good animation. It centered around C3PO and R2D2 and their adventures before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The show deals with gangsters, princes, and a speeder race that was likely the precursor to the Pod Race in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. "Droids" had the Star Wars atmosphere as well as the atmosphere of '80's cartoons. It was canceled after only one season,
The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978)
A Delightful Show for the Whole Family!
This fun filled extravaganza is filled with heart pounding adventure, edge-of-your-seat action, and outrageous comedy. Art Carney stars as Saundan, a lovable merchant living on the Wookiee home planet. Carney's hilarious antics are a treat, but the fun doesn't end there! Harvey Korman of the Carol Burnett Show plays three different characters, all of which are a riot. This also features appearances by television legend Beatrice Arthur as the Cantina bartender, Diahanne Carrole as Itchy's erotic fantasy, and the stars of Star Wars. Add an action packed cartoon, outstanding musical numbers, dozens of lovable Wookiees, and a rockin' Jefferson Starship number and you have the Star Wars Holiday Special!
The Andy Griffith Show (1960)
Travesty of Law Enforcement
The aspect of this show that offends me is the pathetic figures it paints as law enforcement. I haven't seen a lot of episodes, but the ones I have seen did not impress me. First of all you have Andy, the sheriff. He's not a tough sheriff, but a touchy feely guy who wants everyone to be nice to each other. His punishments are a joke. In one episode I saw, he lets a prisoner out of jail and invites him to Sunday dinner. SUNDAY DINNER!!! What kind of stupid idea is that? In another episode a man by the name of Ernest T. Bass commits a series of felonies (including threatening an officer with a firearm) and is not even ARRESTED by Andy. In one episode when Andy, his deputy, and a REAL policeman are being shot at by criminals Andy chides the real policeman for wanting to use his gun. What kind of moron is this Andy Taylor?
The whole show is a travesty of justice. Andy's deputy, Barney Fife, is a complete joke. He does not even load his gun. Take it from me, he's a complete moron. True, Andy (and the other residence of Mayberry) are dumber than boxes of hammers, but they are Einsteins compared to Barney.
If you live in Mayberry, get the heck out, because the law enforcement in your area WILL CERTAINLY FAIL YOU! I believe the government needs to make an inquiry into the situation.
