Sex Education (2019)
Brilliant Bitter Sweet Comedy That's Hilarious and Tragic in Equal Measure
Wasn't sure about this after watching the first episode, but persevered past the fake Americanisms of a British school. Really, why did they do it? It's a British school. We don't have pennants, letterman jackets and who walks around school with a rugby ball all the time?
But if you can bear to ignore all that silliness, it's a brilliantly written comedy set around the novel concept of the son of a sex therapist who ends up providing advice to other students that are having trouble with their relationships.
The cast are brilliant in their roles and play their parts perfectly, from Gillian Anderson as the sex therapist, to Ncuti Gatwa who brilliantly portrays the lead characters gay best friend.
If you like the cringe worthiness of The Office and the humour of the Inbetweeners then you'll love it.
Marcella: Episode #3.3 (2020)
It just gets better
Just when you think it can't get any grittier, it does. The plot twists and turns keeping you alert. Brilliantly written and the acting is even better. If you like your crime dramas dark, this is for you.
