Great Addition to the Series
8 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I first read the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe book before I saw the movie and I was pleasantly surprised at how true they stayed to the book, it was like watching it come to life on screen. Of course, things sometimes change here and there, dialogs, scenes that are cut and everything, which is only natural.

Then I read Prince Capsian and saw the movie and to be honest I didn't like the book much, however the film version certainly did stay true to the book but many things were changed and re-ordered, which was for the better to make it more entertaining. Overall its a good movie, there are a few things here and there that didn't feel so strong as with the first movie. But still, I feel its a good addition to the Narnia series, I only hope that Voyage of the Dawn Treader will be good.

Are you serious?
1 August 2009
Waaaaaay back, the only reason I heard about this movie was through the reality show Making The Band, I used to watch it, yes I am guilty of watching the first Making The Band and liking O-Town's music. So they mentioned not wanting to do the movie and I can see why.

Out of curiosity I watched it and I have to say that...I didn't get it at all, Glitter had more plot than this crap. Maybe there were funny little moments in the movie like Justin Timberlake and such, but the movie is a total waste of time and money. It is so obvious that it was just a device to give these pop stars some more exposure and see if they could get money out of it.

I'm surprised that the rating on this movie isn't any lower, because this really has to be one of the worst films in the history of movies.

Better than the first, Heath Ledger performance
11 November 2008
Everybody knows about Heath Ledger's death and how it affected other movies, including this one.

But I must say that when I watched this film, I wasn't thinking about that, I had my mind focused on the film, performances and story. And I have to say, that it turned out better than I had expected, this is a definite improvement over Batman Begins and I lot more interesting. Ledger's performance in this film was incredible, his take on the Joker cannot be compared to previous Joker incarnations because it is unique and very intense.

There were a couple of things on this film that I didn't quite get and maybe were a little loose, but overall, this film great in action, drama and probably the best tribute to Ledger.

Not bad
20 February 2008
There are people who have bashed this film calling it "the worse Rush Hour ever", honestly, I have to disagree, because this film wasn't as bad as other films I've seen.

To start with, yes, it's the 3rd installment of the Rush Hour franchise and yes there won't be anything else but over the top fights and a bunch of puns, but with all that said, the film doesn't fail to entertain and maybe make you laugh.

Viewing this film as any film maker would, there were a couple of holes in the story, the plot is kinda weak in some points. Now viewing it as an average Joe, the was entertaining, it made me laugh and enjoyed the fights and I would say it deserves more merit than what people are giving it. I'd say if you're bored and got nothing to do, rent this movie and just relax and have a good time.

Animation: Good, Story: Bad
4 February 2008
Regarding the animation, it was very good, interesting to see how they tried to make photo-realistic penguins and adapt them to make them do these dance moves and sing and everything. What also impressed me was how they also made the humans in the story realistic, unlike most animated films that make the characters look cartoon, they went for a more down to earth feeling. And also always, the special effects were good, good use of lighting and the way they made them dance.

Regarding the story, the good animation and the fancy dances moves by penguins weren't enough to keep the story up, there were moments where the storyline had to be strong but it always turned up a little weak, they really did try to make it seem like a musical but seem like the traditional animated movie with a zero that becomes a hero and all. But sadly I think they didn't make it strong enough.

Conclusion: I was amazed that this film won the Oscar for Best Animated Movie when it was up against Cars, which was much better, if you think penguins are cute and you wanna see them dance, I guess you can watch this film, but if you're expecting a fun time with the family, I suggest you bring pillows because it tends to get boring.

Cars (2006)

Great movie!
4 February 2008
When it comes to animated films, there has to be a perfect blend of elements to make the film work and entertaining at the same time, Cars does that. The animation on this film was superb, making these cars look real and interacting which each other was well done, the lighting was perfect and the smallest details such as dust clouds, reflections of light on the cars was great. The story though it may have been typical in some point, it felt really good, the voicing was well done (especially from Larry The Cable Guy) and the soundtrack was the best, reviving old classics such as Life Is A Highway and Route 66 to original works like Behind The Clouds and Real Gone. Probably the best thing about it is, being an amateur follower of NASCAR, is how they gave nods to some of the legends in NASCAR, like the Hudson Hornet, King Richard's car and even car #8 which is Dale Earndhart Jr. car.

Personally the movie is great, it's great to watch with the family and if you're a NASCAR fan you'll probably smile and add this film to your collection of NASCAR related stuff.

Funny Monty Python Style
13 December 2007
Monty Python has been known for doing comedy in their own style and this one is no exception. From the very beginning the film starts with King Arthur riding his "horse" and searching for the Holy Grail and from then on it's just a funny ride thru a bunch of silly stuff. From "the knights who say NI" to the "killer rabbit" and to the silly animations that's typical for this comedy group. It can sometimes get tiresome because there is NON-STOP comedy in this, but still there are some jokes that are forever to be stuck in your head! Over all an 8/10 for taking on history, flipping it over and shaking it about! If you do not understand British kind of funny, then I think it's best you go back to watch "Something About Mary" or whatever.

Odd, but interesting
12 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Guillermo del Toro (the director of this film) once said "If you think that this is going to be Harry Potter 5, then you're screwed, because it has nothing to do with that, there are some strong and even harsh things in this film" and he was right. This film has it share of violence and language.

It's obvious to see that the director did wanted to set this film aside from most other fantasy films such as Narnia or Harry Potter and opted to deal with this harsh reality and sadly he killed the little girl at the end of the film, but she relives in this fantasy world where she is reunited with her family. So the film has a sad and happy ending at the same time, to me this was odd, because after all this thru out the whole movie there should've been a happy ending or at least end with a lighter note. Also I would've like to see more of this fantasy world that was described to us, but never really shown fully, and that it served as an escape from the harsh reality around the girl.

Over all, the production was very good, the story needed a little help, but I would say if you're tired of watching Harry Potter and want something different, I would say you can watch this and maybe you'll enjoy it.

Pretty damn good
4 October 2007
For you to understand this movie (if you can understand it at all) you have to watch the series to get to know the characters, then you watch this movie and you'll understand the sense of humor that they play with here.

The film is crazy and goes very well with the whole ATHF things we have seen in the series, and what I liked very much was that they stayed close to the "ATHF spirit" if there's such a thing and they came up with new stuff and gags instead of using old gags or updating them the way that the South Park movie did.

What I found most interesting was how they started talking about the origins of Shake, Frylock and Meatwad and then they just mess it around by giving twists and turns just to make it ridiculous. One thing I found odd was how they used Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" over and over again. All in all, the film is funny and wacky and it will please ATHF fans, if you never heard of the series or what the whole thing is about, DON'T watch the movie, you won't get it.

Interesting
17 September 2007
When I first heard about this, I was intrigued, I had been interested in the Titanic long before the movie came out and underwater exploration of the shipwreck had always been fascinating to me. I finally got my hands on the DVD of this documentary and well I was blown away by the stuff they showed from INSIDE the ship, it was a pity that they didn't show more, because they could've easily omitted parts where they were on the Keldysh and the poorly recreated scenes from the ship.

All in all, this was good and showed some stuff I haven't seen before, but if you really want to see better footage of the shipwreck inside and out I'd recommend other documentaries that are in the same line as this one. But yet it was still interesting, light-hearted and mind blowing to see the condition of the ship itself.

just fun
17 September 2007
obviously this is one of those teen movies where you don't expect much to happen other than the usual stuff, you know, guy meets girl, guy faces problems and then over comes them and in the end everything turns out okay and everybody's having a good time. it's the same here, though the film is kinda week and has clichés in it, still it didn't bother me and it actually made me wanna dance, which is pretty good. like i said, this film doesn't contain much, but it's good, it's fun, you might enjoy it, so i'd say it's a good choice if you wanna see something that'll distract you for a while. by the way, this is probably one of the first movies where Kevin bacon stars in it, so you can use it as a reference to compare how his movie choices have changed over the course of his career.

Great action film
25 July 2007
My friend and I want to watch this movie and I have to see that this is a great film. The story was interesting and I think Mark Walhberg's acting was good too, oddly enough there was no sex in this film and not really that much gore and yet I found it to be entertaining and plain out good. What was more interesting to me was how the storyline seemed to be all over the place and then it all came back to one spot and showed that everything was connected. And well a lot of explosions and gun use were used in it, that was cool, but there were times that I was shouting at the screen "SHUT UP AND KILL HIM ALREADY!" but still I was amused. After seeing this film, I think it should deserve more attention like other films this year are getting.

Good but not great
5 April 2007
When I first saw Balto in 1995 I thought that this movie was very good and I still like it, so when I heard that there was a sequel coming out I thought that it would be great, turns out that it wasn't as good and now with the 3rd installment, I have to say that it's better.

It's so-so at least the animation is better and it's a hell of a lot better than the 2nd, but still it's missing something that the first one had. The first one was rated PG and the other 2 were rated G sorta to try to target it towards younger audiences but trying to keep the spirit of the first one alive, which they didn't do very well.

All in all, this one was pretty good, but still not good enough to become a classic the way the first one did, but I would recommend it.
