goofy from the start
13 December 2012
OK, most action movies are pretty unbelievable. But come on! Angelina Jolie's arms are about 3 inches in diameter . She couldn't punch her way out of a wet paper bag. I just can't buy it. She makes a great spy but not an action star. Is this movie a parody of action movies? An action movie does have to have a certain element of plausibility to it at least to set up the story before taking us on a ride. There is something weird about Roger Ebert's 4 star rating . I am afraid that some people are just going to yell "wonderful!" about anything that Angelina Jolie does. This movie is goofy from the start. You could cut Jolie's image out of the movie and insert the terminator

Finally a movie from a conservatives point of view
4 October 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I love this movie because it portrays todays issues from the point of view of the right. Some of it is extremely funny, some is so seriously on target that it is almost sad. I hate it when liberals tell people to reserve their opinion until they go and see their ultra-left movie. I will admit that liberals should not watch this movie. I doubt if there are 5 minutes of it they would endure, much less enjoy. All I can say is its great to be able to get my conservative laughs and enjoy the fact that other people understand my principles and agree with them. If you are undecided about how you feel about politics then you might watch this movie as it does attempt to illustrate the absurdity of many ideas of the left with very graphic illustrations.

Smallville (2001–2017)

This is not Superman
17 April 2007
The story presented in Smallville is a teen/love story/soap opera which is not my cup of tea but I have no problem with it. What I do have a problem with is that it uses the names Clark,Lana,Lois,Lex,Martha,Jonathan,Smallville, etc. I was a boy in the 50's and 60's and these names told me that this was going to be a story about Superman or Superboy. The story is an extreme adaptation of that story. It should be called "Pretty Darned Good Man" or some soap opera title like "Fred's Landing". Superboy was not a dark character filled with doubt and fear, at least not the one in the comic book stories I grew up with. This one is much more like Peter Parker which is fine, but that's another story altogether. I was briefly sucked into this for seasons 1-3, but finally realized the story was not going where I thought it was and bailed out. Fortunately, I discovered the old Superman, the one I read about when I was a boy, and he lives on in "All Star Superman" comics.
