The Mentalist (2008)
Watching this in 2024 and I can't believe I rated it 10
After watching some episodes I realize Jane was basically the know it all and everyone skipped around him. No boundaries and he was beyond the law and gets away with everything but goes around getting everyone else arrested, talk of irony. How his cop friends keep trying to help him while they arrest other people in similar circumstances like him. Lisbon was basically worshipping the ground he walked on lol.
The best thing about the show was the murder cases though, real and all the actors were so good. Cho was my best.
Overall it's a lazy watch, you will enjoy it, thank goodness it came to an end cause how long can someone who is meant to be so good take almost 7 seasons to get his families killer. It should have been 4 seasons max. Especially season 4 at the end wa so predictable hahaha. Ya right Jane lost it ...
Enjoy.
Hometown (2021)
Can't recover my hours
I got so fed up with those still interviews with this so called Guru prisoner who can turn people to murderers. The loss of life is senseless to say the least, ineffective affected, sad and angry no nothing cop makes it worse. All this cause of some bloodline child, like the devil's child
The way the guru prisoner talks is so exhausting I started forwarding his scenes, if he knows everything then why not just end everything. So disappointed 😞.
The schools girls were the only perfect thing, there love for their lost friend and the togetherness was beautiful. I almost just want to watch the last episode so that the last 7 to have meant something.
Dojeok: Kalui Sori (2023)
Too American to be Korean 😁
I get the story line and the fiction to make it interesting but It like watching an American storyline been spoken by South Koreans.
Love revenge and hero stories so that sold me out, loved it. The actors are of course good and they bring out their characters well but I really doubt that in the 1900s of Korean women would be so rude..... The gun slaying lady is good but her attitude is so American.....
The violence in this series tops even some violent American series, we don't need all the blood and cursing ehk.
I stopped watching European and American series for this reason but guess South Koreans have opted to copy and paste the vulgar violent scenes in there shows. Sad really. At least nudity was excluded.
Wonder 🤔 where to go for less violent movies after enjoying so many lovely Korean shows......missing, fiery priest........
Oh well.
Kijeokui Hyungje (2023)
Could have been better- am yet to see the miraculousness
The dramatic music in certain parts is unnecessary. The main actor keeps yelling unnecessary, his face betrays what he says. As for the boy from the past he keeps shaking for no reason and having that shocked face ......
I do not see them battle any crime as written in the description. The first and 2nd episodes looked promising then we got into this one story line.
The female cop who is all tough but is traumatized.
Like they was a story somewhere in there, am on episode 10 just about to give up, if we keep talking about plagiarism and lost brother.
The story line is slower than many K-Dramas considering it's a 2023 I expected a more fast paced action .......
Ragnarok (2020)
When does Thor become Thor
Season 2 episode 4 and Thor keeps looking blank and showing himself for who he is, seriously, can we to see anything spectacular that he can do rather than keep acting clueless. The Giants could have been taller lol. Like the mama giant, she suits the title, the rest.....nah
Praying next episode I see 2 minutes of real action between enemies not son and daughter etc
Do not expect any action seriously like what you'd think Thor be like and expect a lot of him looking Tom Hanks in thatovie, yeah that one....
The actors are good, the story line is not bad, as for the naivety of Thor it's amaizing.... Loki is truly the faster learner.
One thing I can say, is the Thor sure looks like an Anorld in the making.
Free Money (2022)
It may not work for everyone but it will work for some. Be still 2031 is near
For me I think this is a very good initiative that give direct is experimenting or trying out on a certain population in Kenya. For someone like Larry to go about bashing the experiment when it's barely halfway through is premature. And in life nothing will ever be fair and that is the truth. So if a few people can benefit from something that the rest of us are not giving unto them, we should allow it to happen. They have the choice to be part of it or not. And Kenya has a government that can decide to safeguard its people if it's so chooses. Everyone was about 18 years old and they really did not have to accept the money. So I say kudos to give direct and I really hope that the people of the village use those resources to actually develop themselves and hope this so-called A/B works. You don't work for everyone but it will work for some.
Son: The Guest (2018)
Watchable. Good then....then it ends
The story line is good, cinematography is on point, found it too bloody for a South Korean show but at least they blurred out most parts. The sadness for the main character is a lot, was relieved to see one relative survive. At episode 14, I was like "am tired just end this, the suspense is now just tiring". Everyone dies so why am I still watching, and the a so called Christian who gets possessed was never a real one to start with.
That Priest Matthew was never shown praying 😂 not once, just modeling. He walked like a ruler and acted robotic but it kinda suited him, too cold to be a Father though. As for the other father I am sure he drank more than he worked, no wonder he gave up doing exorcisms. The female cop, was good. Always one female cop in the police force, wonder why. Main character could be american, never listens and never knows anything 😂. But good actor.
I always suspected that guy to be the evil demon.
A Catholic father whom demons place a curse on 😂. Really! And the repeating was abit much..."if you see as a third time ...."and runs away from excosims ..hahaha
How do you burry someone then go around chasing them like you didn't burry them yesterday... seriously.
They sure had the least number of extras, even on the streets there was no one except the actors 😂
The way this guy's love to pocket is amazing.
Overall, watch it, Koreans never fail to have an actual non-prolonged story line. Always on point.
Bimilui Soop (2017)
Mentally exhausting and wonderfully scripted
I am a fan of South Korean series but this has been one of the most exhausting watching because of the twisted storyline. I believe it must be great if it's given me so much work understanding or maybe because of their complicated names, but it's definitely a wonderful watch and will encourage anyone to watch it. Very intense I have to say firery priest was much more fun and missing the other side was even more grand.
I love main character and his lack of feelings is just perfect. But the police woman has got all my approval she is just authentic and beautiful.
Just come to realize Koreans rely too much on information by the media or perception by the media and it's like the prosecutor's office is run by the media houses and what they state. The prosecutors higher ups do less work and do more plotting and all oh they are all men. The first show that has wiped away everything to do with CSI and NFS series as the prosecutors and the cops do not care about forensics most of the time.
A lot of harassment that has no consequences interesting..... Like we shall arrest y'all later let's get you to blue house first hahahha.
Regardless to its shortcomings it's definitely an 7.
Yeolhyeolsaje (2019)
Worthy Worthy, I laughed, cried and laughed again
The characters are all on point, love the female prosecutor, she is so beautiful and gangster at the same time, the nun, the Priests are so perfectly selected for their roles.
It's starts up serious then somewhere in between becomes comical then serious again. It's all over the place but it is properly put together. I literally rewound certain scenes just to laugh again. First hilarious Korean series I've watched.
Even the bad guy is good to watch you kind of end up liking him cuz he's such a good actor. Big kudos to the scriptwriters You can never guess the direction of the storyline and that is what I like in the South Korean serieses as this makes them more interesting to watch.
Any series with no cursing and no sexual content is 100% to me and this is one of it. Keep soaring high South Korea take over Netflix.
Extraction (2020)
Rambo has resurfaced in India...no lie
Basically two guys killed half if not all the Bengali police hahahaha. Clearly states that India police needs to get more police like Randeep.... Ironic how they then go ahead to kill one of their own who was protecting one of their own but thank goodness for Chris who comes in, American style all guns blazing and death around him to rescue the poor baby boy.
First time I watched it I loved it more than the 2nd time when I kept wondering why half a billion people had to die ....But anything to save the innocent even if we kill other policemen on duty ... following orders hahaha
For sure not a waste of time, you love action, then this is it, Rambo iz back in India.
Missing: Geudeuli Itseodda (2020)
From the other side is a great idea
Loved season one 10/10 scenary, story line, emotions were all on point.
Season too, I get it, you lost a daughter stop brooding all over through the seasons. The old man in this season was exhausting to watch, looking miserable and really not helping to find anyone, fifthe episode of 2nd season, I just forward his scenes. Jeez men, move on, honour your baby with finding all the other babies stuck there.... The script writer lost it on the old man in this season.
Wook and the rest are brilliant as usual.
The usual Korean threatening faces and boastful walks and eishhhhhh and it's driving me crazy hahaha.
Great story all in all.
Boiseu (2017)
Wanna see a voice profiler!
Voice profiler is great, new, never seen that before.
Only watched the first season on Netflix and it's good so far, it's not a waste of time but the hatred between the two cops was exaggerated with lots of screaming and table banging as every Korean show. As for the bad guy he must have been a god, being every where all the time and hearing everything hahaha ....no criminal is that good. The criminal master mind is fatiguing like get caught already...
The crime solving was the best part of the show.... actually the first Korean show am watching with lots of the storyline being about the cops and their personal issues...... But there is some investigation in all of it. Love shows that focus on the investigation and not the investigators.
The Forensics team should get fired, messing evidence, postmortem without cracking someone up, so opposite of Partners in crime show which was a 10. Who destroys an evidence room hahaha in Korea it's the cop out of anger....
The violence of cop to cop, cop to lover, cop to criminal is amazing. The criminals are beaten up souch, it happens everywhere but only Koreans have the guts to film it and Netflix show it hahahaha..sad really
Great show though if they could have killed the fake vilan early. Waiting for season 2 though.
Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields (2022)
We can do better really.Kuduos FBI
The show is well designed and the families speak out very well. It's properly done and the story is well executed. It's touching, sad and unresolved. The families show the impact of crime on those left behind and the death sentence they are left in after loss of loved ones. The profiling of the vistims is so sad, may God rest the souls of these beautiful American ladies in peace. They deserved better from their local police...what a shame.
The USA system needs to be checked if it can legally release a murders due to technicalities ....... Like how can someone be released for killing another after 8 years.
Gumbeobnamnyeo (2018)
Grumpy did it 🥂
I just love how Korean films are straight with no nudity or curse words other than aiish...
The actors suited their parts perfectly even the Korean American ladies, they depictated the decency of the Korean dressing vs the American type dressing and attitude well. I preferred Stella more than Sally, Sally just represented the American culture I was escaping meaning she acted very well in her nagging and imposing herself- still the Korean culture won 😁.
The show is full of "oh my" goodness, and the determination and harmony of the actors was lovely. The hard working times still amuse me, no sleep always on the move day or night.
It's definitely worth watching, wished for season after season. Especially cause they blur out the unnecessary and leave it to our imagination.
But it seems there is a real issue with those with money and power in Korea more than any other country I've watched. And school bullying is like a theme always.
Go Korea, you do culture well.
The Mother (2023)
Could have been better
Greatish but oh well
JLO of course kills it as an action icon. Loved her all the way, killer moves, tough look and beauty and pose.
As usual we have the typical child who never listens as in every American movie 🙄 invalidates all her mothers is trying to do but oh well guess it's all for the drama. The role of the old veteran 🤔, I could have written better. Like really from being rescued to being recaptured 😂. Clearly the skills training was for nothing lol.
If you love JLO then feel free to watch otherwise it's nothing new that you haven't seen before. The ending could have been better with some more fighting power after the bad guy said "be prepared for Damascus" ....... it was so dry.
Mobeomtaeksi (2021)
Just perfect
No regrets: love script writing by Koreans, no cursing, no nudity, clean content with an excellent story that keeps you watching. Few episodes to just keep you engaged. The main character is just cool with his gaze hahaha and the machoness in his karate moves....reminds .e of old school action movies.
Interesting how Koreans resign when they fail at something and the bowing down as a sign of respect is so cool. Just love watching the clean cut acting, it's an art.
My time well spent. Actors fitted their roles and they acted them well. The ending is just the best and leaves you smiling says..."you go guys"
Bing-ui (2019)
Good then something happened
The story line is good loved the chemistry between the two cute lady and awkward detective. Nevertheless the lady's shamans powers are not evident, she plays powerless basically almost all through and the detective who spends a day in silence while death is around him ruined the story line. The 13 & 14th episode were a real drag. They allowed the villain too much winning power that as you watch you get tires waiting for a comeback.
The main characters are weak....like who wrote this script! No crime is solved by the way 😂 and what's the purpose of the ladies mother in the story line 😂 l.
The story line was good until the bad guy stayed in control too long.
Prisoners (2013)
Great but .....
Good action packed natural acting but as for Keller's wife was such an opposite of what we hear of women who do everything to look for their daughters, all she did was cry and guilt her husband....sad....
A Madea Homecoming (2022)
Will never get back my yime
Honestly, TP this was the worst.....not funny. Compared to his previous high quality acts and funny movies, this was such flat. Actors were okay but story line couldn't be rescued even with great actors.
