Bad Sisters (2022)
Great from start to finish
Bad Sisters might just be Apple TV's best comedy show (and yes that's counting Ted Lasso).
I have to commend Claes Bang for his portrayal of John Paul his character is one of the most repulsive beings I've ever watched he really sold me on how awful his character is and every time I hear him say 'Mamy' my blood boils.
I loved the bond and chemistry between the sisters and the show really managed to gather these 5 women who are such great actresses all on their own but Sharon Horgan and Anne-Marie Duff really stood out with their portrayal of their respective characters.
The lead up to the end was very rewarding and all though I would've wanted each sister to have a go at killing the prick off I thought no one deserved that honor more than Grace with the help of Roger of course!
Barbarian (2022)
Interesting start that hooks you but eventually lets you down.
Interesting start that hooks you but eventually lets you down. The movie started of strong with great build up between the two characters and the mystery behind the basement but as the story progresses and we see more of the back story behind the house.
It's like as soon as Justin Long came on screen the atmosphere of the story suddenly changed and I was infinitely rooting for his character's demise instead of worrying about what happened with Bill Skarsgard and Georgina Campbell.
The last 30 minutes of the film was completely lost on me based on the series of weird decision making the characters made.
Game, Set, Love (2022)
Wrong Casting
Probably the least believable tennis movie I've seen. I did expect a bit specially the game scenes as this was co-produced by Venus Williams but was let down with how it played out. My biggest issue with this is you're somehow supposed to convince me Richard Harmon with his very white skin and small build is a pro tennis player? Pro tennis players who generally have ridiculously jacked thighs and arms and olive skin tone from playing in the sun? His acting all throughout the movie was also a really big problem as I find it a bit too disinterested, I get that he is the 'bad boy' of tennis (😂) but I think there's a difference between a hard headed character and a bored actor. I also wasn't convinced about the chemistry between the two actors, a Hallmark movie should be bursting with cheesiness and emotions and this one just felt too flat.
The Wilds (2020)
The Girls are the heart and soul of the show
It's unfortunate that once again a show about women was overridden by men. With how perfect Season 1 was, Season 2 was all over the place, you can never really tell a good story with 17+ people fighting for screentime.
Dont even get me started on the acting. The girl's especially, Sarah Pidgeon and Sophia Ali's acting this season was incredible and completely overshadowed the boy's acting which was often times cringe.
I don't know if the show deserves a Season 3 tbh, but if they do then maybe the writers can remember who the fans tuned in this show to begin with.
The Wilds: Day 30/1 (2022)
Not as interesting
How I wish they couldve just added the boys in a spin off show or something else. They're aren't as interesting/captivating as the girls. The casting was clearly made for token points and let's not talk about the poor acting. The night and day difference between the chemistry of the girls vs the boys is extremely evident.
Superman & Lois (2021)
Lacks charisma
This show lacks charisma espcially from Tyler Hoechlin. He's like a robot!!! I understand this is catered as the family version of superman but he just doesn't the 'it' factor.
Gentleman Jack (2019)
Amazing flow
At first I was a bit hesitant as I didn't know what the chemistry would be like between the pairing of Anne and Ann but as time went on I thoroughly enjoyed the show as a whole and even Anne's eccentricity is quite charming!
Masters of the Universe: Revelation (2021)
She-ra was at least enjoyable
She-ra was at least enjoyable and was able to garner a new set of fans from the new generation. This one is just meh. Master's doesn't have the lore other DC or MCU stories have so it should just stick to being a fun enjoyable show, Netflix already has Arcane as it's anime flag bearer MotU cannot compete with that so at least give the audience a fun show. And they want to make a live action of this? Maybe give this project to someone else.
Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
Started as a background noise but ended up loving it
Started as a background noise but ended up loving it. Started this one as I needed some distraction but I ended really invested in the whole thing. And as someone who hasn't played a single LoL game in their life this was extremely enjoyable and the ART!!!! It's so beautiful!!!! Amazing. This is what you get when you spend money and time to better your product!
Yellowjackets (2021)
Season 1 is good set up for how the rest of the story will go
Season 1 is good set up for how the rest of the story will go with how fast everything changes in tv right now I often fear that my favourite shows will get the untimely axe but this show is confident enough to leave a lot hanging by the last episode. It has been set up as a solid foundation for the characters. Misty could appear as an annoying character for most but she has been the best part of the series for me. Christina RIcci was amazing!
Mare of Easttown (2021)
Kate Winslet at her best
Amazing. Im so glad I binged watched this show because I don't think I could take the weekly wait. Stellar performances by the cast but as per usual, Kate Winslet stood out best. Mare's relationship with the entire town was very interesting to watch and the big reveal really cemented my belief that sometimes it's the people closest to you that you have to watch out for.
