ARA San Juan: El submarino que desapareció (2024)
The truth is out there...
Don't let the macrists tax dodgers fool you, they just hate the country, the truth, and people kwowing the truth; this doc is good and is also well made. If their beloved politicians didn't want to comment and defend themselves, well... that's too bad, my son: silence is consent.
The doc is good, it covers many theories discussed althroughout the years, good and bad, and provides proof to discard the flimsiest ones. I don't want to spoil which ones but both sides came up with some weak, Mulder-y theories and this series buries them deep in the Atlantic, but I guess some people really want to believe it was a certain lady's fault so whatever proves it wrong will be disappointing.
The doc spends a great deal of time with the relatives of the submariners and how the government treated them and the situation, spoilers: they did so as your run of the mill psychopath would, no surprise there. They spied on the relatives, they berated them in their faces, and even tried to make a buck while at it-as they often did and are doing again right now in 2024 because they are back in the game- by not listening to their wishes and recommendations.
The truth is not quite out there, because we still don't know what happened to those 44 heroes, but at least we know who is keeping it a secret that probably will never be known.
Clinton Road (2019)
AVOID THIS
I saw it had a "6" from 3,500 viewers, so I thought this must be decent.
Nope. It sucks. There's a whole night club scene with the Mayor, the owner of the club, Ice T(with an awfully acted scene), Eric Roberts (lol). None of that is relevant to the movie, only Ice-T's scene but his lines are so rushed that it's better to just overlook it.
It's difficult to understand who's gone missing, who's related to who, etc.
Characters make no sense, but the actors don't help.
The characters, after seeing a guy convulse on the woods, do not attempt to help the guy, they just decide it's a good call to just split in groups and walk around a creepy place, at night.
One of the actresses plays her scenes as if she has the hots for his boyfriend's friend... only to be revealed that what's going on with her is that she is jealous of the missing wife of his BF. She has no interest in the friend apparently, even though she acts it out as if she's about to tell him "I came here just to be with you".
The ending just makes no sense, nothing really make sense, not just the ending. One of the kills is just laughable (the girl hit by the car). I still wonder what was the role of the Mayor and his wife in this movie. Why were they there? Why do they have any lines??
This has a 6 because the cast and crew have been rating it with 8s, 9s, and 10s. This sucks, I shouldn't be tricked into watching a bad movie, just do a good movie if you want me to watch your film. Or go ahead and do awful movies, be free, just don't make me watch your trainwreck.
