Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi (2022)
Thank you Dave Filoni we're maintained the magic of Star Wars
This series as short as it was, displays the remarkable story telling, writing, character development, and the magic "Star Wars" written stamped all over it. Of all the series so far Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have been been at the top of the best series released since George Lucas departure. The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, Bad Batch, and The Clone Wars, are noticeably at the top in terms of quality cinema. Other producers who made: The Sequel Trilogy, Andor Solo just didn't have the same quality of work as the series previously listed. All her work just doesn't feel like I'm watching Star Wars. Obi Wan A Star Wars Story finished strong but I have no doubt Filoni and Favreau would of executed a better series.
Disney, get the hell out of the way and allow Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau to produce all the work moving forward.
Notre-Dame (2022)
Series about Fictional Stories instead of the Fire
There were so many endless over the top side stories going on that had nothing to do with the actually fire. Most of the stories were cringe worthy drama. The circumstances were over the top life and death situations that included drug over dose, prostitution, reuniting of loved ones, firefighters carrying their beloved firefighter partners that almost died during the fire, a lost little boy who left his family with a hooker drug addict, a hostage shooting guys with a nail gun, a stolen Diamond cross from a millionaire etc. The funniest one was a "doctor" who forced his way into the home of a woman he was sketching from afar. The lady proceeds to lock herself into a bathroom, break a glass mirror, then cut herself so bad with the glass shard that she passes out lmao
The scenes that involved the fire were very short and spread out through the film. I don't recommended watching this unless there is nothing else on.
Andor (2022)
This is based on the first two episodes. Will update shortly
Boring. So damn boring. The characters have no depth. There's a lot of shallow talk that doesn't lead anywhere. The pace is incredibly slow. The opening of the first episodes made me think. Finally! Some serious action right away! Then all the way till the end of the first episode...nothing. Nada. Zilch. There is no chemistry between the characters. The scene are slowly paced with shallow dialogue that leaves you wondering what the heck is going on? I really expected a lot more but then again it's only been two episodes. The environments and worlds are beautiful. Great realistic visuals. The music sucks. Most of the time there is no music and if there is it's like your in a option menu of a spy thriller game. Quiet, suspenseful, but also quiet and...meh. I really hope the story picks up because so far this is a huge snooze fest. I will update the review if I have to as I get to the end of the series. Well, that's if I can make it to the end without falling asleep.
War Horse (2011)
Another gift from Spielberg!
I throughly enjoyed the story telling, cinematography, and quality acting by a talented cast and another great masterpiece from Steven Spielberg. I didn't realize that there were future MCU actors in this movie (Hiddleston as Loki and Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange). As barbaric and destructive as war can be it was refreshing to see that there was humanity on both sides. It's also a reminder of how much in common we have with each other despite fighting in opposite sides. There were plenty of scene were I thought the horse was definitely hurt or injured but the realistic quality to the film was eye opening.
Band of Brothers (2001)
A MUST WATCH Classic
Great acting, writing, action scenes, and historical accuracy makes this a must watch. It's like watching Saving Private Ryan except you get to learn about many of the men who fought valiantly during World War II.
Ms. Marvel (2022)
Overrated and Underwhelming
Underwhelming especially because of the high ratings from critics. It's like reading critic reviews about "The Last Jedi" all over again and coming to the theatre thinking "What were they thinking?" I enjoyed the story and action from the Avengers video game opening scene a whole lot more than this first episode. Slow, boring, uninteresting. Hopefully the series improves as more episodes come get released because I had high hopes for this one.
