The Fable (2019)
99 cent version of the manga
Youko is top notched. Everyone else is meh.
Satou, a genius young assassin, turns out to be a late 20s old man.
Unlike manga, plots are all over the place. Thugs/yakuzos look underfed. Why do Kojima and the one eye dude look so young? The Vice is also uncool. The president though... And the missing small characters?
There is not even one cool moment.
In conclusion, the director probably tries to turn this into a John Wick movie, but obviously he understands neither American audience nor Japanese audience.
Moreover, the plot is cut and rushed too much because the movie is supposed to be a comedy, then a sudden cool action at the end. However, the funny part is not funny, and the action is even lamer than the manga.
How I Met Your Father (2022)
Try-hard show
1. Character introduction:
How I Met Your Mother: 4 characters getting introduced to the 5th character at the 1st episode (Ted and Marshall are best friends while Lily is already a friend of Ted because she dates Marshall. Barney is a mysterious character and perhaps not entirely their friend). Moreover, it starts with the kids' POV.
How I Met Your Father: I lost track. There are away too many characters getting introduced each other. Besides, the mother's POV is not connecting.
2. Characters:
How I Met Your Mother: Ted Mosby is miserable; and he learns about that fact episode by episode by going through each relationship is the progress of the show
How I Met Your Father: Why does Sophie keep smiling like she is on drug? Is it normal for a lady to make every stranger become her best friend? And is it not dangerous? Why is Sophie always happy? Therefore, how does that relate to the audience?
Sophie is not the current Ted. Sophie IS the current Barney Stinson.
3. Chatty:
Seriously, everyone in How I Met Your Father talks like he/she tries to impress everyone to get attention like his/her parents can never give it to him/her.
In summary, it is agreeable that every character here is trying so hard to accomplish something; and, that is neither daily life or comedy. This is like Amy Schumer yelling curse words to pretend it is funny. Additionally, like many humor dramas nowadays, the plot and fun parts do just seem not to be relatable to audience anymore.
