Don't expect too much!
22 May 2024
I'm not saying it's bad, but it's just not good. The Spengler family returns to where it all started - the iconic New York City firehouse - to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who've developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

This actually felt like a Ghostbusters movies. There was quite a good amount of ghostbusting going on, which you would think is a good thing however it felt like it was a bit too much of a Ghostbusters movie. It felt like one of the original 1980's Ghostbusters without any modern concepts that would make the film a bit deeper and more relatable to the newer generations.

Now the new ghosts and elements added to the film were quite interesting and the visuals were very decent. Additionally, it had some good jokes and comedic scenes here and there. The addition of the old Ghostbusters from the original movies was pretty cool and felt like a tribute to the fans of the franchise.

Although I am personally not a big fan of the original Ghostbusters, I still kind of enjoyed this one and I think the fans of the original movie would definitely like this.

Worst Kung Fu Panda movie, but still enjoyable
22 May 2024
Zootopia? Yes? No? Just me? Alright I'll shut up. Po must train a new warrior when he's chosen to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. However, when a powerful shape-shifting sorceress sets her eyes on his Staff of Wisdom, he suddenly realizes he's going to need some help. Teaming up with a quick-witted corsac fox, Po soon discovers that heroes can be found in the most unexpected places.

To start off, the movie was slightly underwhelming with all the high expectations I had especially with how much I like and appreciate the first 3 films (particularly the first one). What makes the Kung Fu Panda movies, and the big DreamWorks movies in general, is the emotional aspect. You really feel a very solid connection with the characters in the movie and root for the protagonist from the bottom of you heart. In this film, this was not present. It felt like it was a bit too rushed with a bunch of forced comedy which wasn't always that funny. The story was a bit cliché but the idea of the antagonist was pretty smart. However, there was so much lost potential with this character that I felt would really have elevated the movie. Just like "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" where the villian was one of the best animated villain I've seen. Now the movie definitely serves its purpose as a childrens' animated film and that can be realised by the 417 million dollars it raised in just about a month.

So if you have kids or you are one, then definitely check it. However, if you're a big fan of the franchise and prefer not to ruin that for yourself, then it's better if you avoid it.

Road House (2024)
7/10
A circus!
22 May 2024
Then there's me thinking this was going to be a sprots Rocky-like movie. Dalton is middleweight fighter who is going through bad times. A tragic encounter in the ring is traumatic for him and gives him suicidal thoughts. To make ends meet he takes up the job of a bouncer at "Road house." However things are not smooth for him since a local gangster boss wants to take over the property and keeps sending his goons to the road house to create problems. Dalton then fights them all with the help of his associates of Road house.

Although apparently many disagree, I found the film very entertaining. Don't expect this to be a great one of its kind film. Road House is a silly remake of a modern westren-like movie filled with ridiculous comedy and loads of action scenes. The movie starts off in a pretty non-original way; he gets offered the job, he's not convinced, something bad happens, and he's kind of forced to except the job. Not to spoil more, he's faced with struggles there and has to resolve them. The action scenes were really entertaining to me and fun to watch. Jake Gyllenhaal was very good at his role which I felt had depth to especially that he's not the good guy but also not the bad guy. Connor McGregor was pretty weird at the beginning but as you get used to him, you understand why such a character is needed in the movie. Most of the jokes were also pretty funny with a lot of irony here and there which was also pretty entertaining. The movie also had some pretty unexpected plot twists.

Shut your brain off and enjoy this!

For me, way better than the first one
22 May 2024
Paul Atreides unites with Chani and the Fremen while seeking revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the universe, he must prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

I'd like to start off by mentioning that I didn't really like the first Dune. I felt like it was too slow and lacked significant events and was just setting up this part. Looking back, now I understand why that was the case. This part wouldn't have been as good without the setup from part one. The first scene in this movie is really visually beautiful and sets up the tone for the rest of the film. The movie is a 3 hour adventure in this incredible world were time just flys by. The production was fabulous and the action and fight scenes were super entertaining, big credits to the director Denis Villeneuve. Hans Zimmer's score is also a big selling point of the movie as it elevates the watching experience and changes the viewer's mood. The cast is also perfect and you can sense that there's a strong chemistry between all of the actors. The story is incredibly good but the storytelling could be a bit better. There are some points that leave you with question marks. But maybe that is left to be explained later. Which brings me on to the next point, I need closure. This film seems like its also setting up a next film so that's more than five hours of set up (with the durations of part one and two combined) with no clear end or a bit of closure. I get that this is supposed to be a big Sci-Fi film series but there has to be a point of where I feel like i didn't spend 5 hours on a journey with no sense of ending. Hopefully they change my mind regarding this point by the time Dune:Part Three releases. Other than that, it was an absolutely amazing film that has to be watched.

Skyfall (2012)

One of the best Bond films!
22 May 2024
With all the 007 casting news going around lately, I decided to rewatch one of my favourite James Bond movies (not my absolute favourite), Skyfall. When James Bond's (Daniel Craig) latest assignment goes terribly wrong, it leads to a calamitous turn of events: Undercover agents around the world are exposed, and MI6 is attacked, forcing M (Judi Dench) to relocate the agency. With MI6 now compromised inside and out, M turns to the one man she can trust: Bond. Aided only by a field agent (Naomie Harris), Bond takes to the shadows and follows a trail to Silva (Javier Bardem), a man from M's past who wants to settle an old score.

What makes this movie standout out of all the other 007 movies is that it takes a darker approach and is very focused on the character development yet it's still so fun to watch. Definitely action packed with some beautiful and entertaining action scene. The movie starts off with a very exciting chase scene (like most Bond movies) to set the tone for the film. This time, Daniel Craig's James Bond is very emotionally vulnerable adding a very realistic aspect to this whole franchise. He also embraces his old age, he's not the young James Bond he was in "Casino Royale" anymore which I really liked. Overall, "Skyfall" is a very fun and exciting movie with a hint of realism making the film quite an emotional one.

WAYYY ahead of its time!
22 May 2024
I just wonder why we don't have movies like this one anymore. After a gentle alien becomes stranded on Earth, the being is discovered and befriended by a young boy named Elliott (Henry Thomas). Bringing the extraterrestrial into his suburban California house, Elliott introduces E. T., as the alien is dubbed, to his brother and his little sister, Gertie (Drew Barrymore), and the children decide to keep its existence a secret. Soon, however, E. T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien.

The sheer happiness you feel throughout the whole 2 hours knowing that ur watching something so magical and so brilliantly made, is a feeling we don't feel in modern day cinema. The story is so touching and the characters are very lovable so you build a connection with the entire film and not just certain aspects of it. It's also very emotional and touching especially with that bond that's being created.

The film is visually stunning. All the effects are so beautiful and way ahead of their time. Imagine this with me, this movie, with all its magic, was made before Mcnuggets were even created. Yet, in 2024, you still get movies that try so hard with CGI and effects (and fail miserably) until they lose the core meaning of what cinema truly is.

Truly exceptional, one of a kind, film.

A bit disturbing, but still a good watch
22 May 2024
In 1972, a Uruguayan flight carrying a rugby team crashes in the remote heart of the Andes, forcing survivors to become each other's best hope. "The Society of the Snow" follows this group of people in this very thrilling and unique adventure.

To start, I just wanted to highlight that this is not the first movie talking about this stroy as in 1993, "Alive" was released and it also tackled the 1972 incident. I personally haven't watched that one so I will not be comparing the 2 movies in this review. However, I would like to point out that "Alive" was an American movie and "The Society of the Snow" is all in Spanish which makes the film feel more authentic and real. The movie starts by introducing us to the team for a bit but it doesn't take much time at all until they board the plane.

Don't watch this if you have a flight as it is really terrifying and irritating. The crash scene is petrifying and chaotic. Although it is very difficult to feel exactly what they felt, the movie gives us a sense of the torture and torment. I don't want to reveal much more of the story but I have to add that the film was very beautifully shot and the acting was very convincing and real.

Ferrari (2023)

Just like the Ferrari F1 team nowadays, hit and miss
22 May 2024
Adam DRIVER as the DRIVER and founder of Ferrari, Enzo Ferrari. Couldn't pass on the chance of saying this silly pun. During the summer of 1957, bankruptcy looms over the company that Enzo Ferrari and his wife built 10 years earlier. He decides to roll the dice and wager it all on the iconic Mille Miglia, a treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy.

At the beginning, I really had higher expectations for this movie. Don't get me wrong, the movie was not bad yet it wasn't that good. A movie about the founder of one of the greatest ever motor companies played by Adam Drive alongside Penelope Cruz and directed by Michael Mann should've been a lot better. Of course, the acting was pretty good but the main problem was that I didn't feel a connection with any of the main characters. One of the most important aspects for me in any biopic is the emotional aspect that was really present in this film.

The story that was being told was really interesting to me however I thought it could be told in a slightly different way that would be a bit more engaging. Like I really would've liked to feel the adrenaline during the race. Nevertheless, the film still has its exciting parts and would be enjoyable to some audiences.

Pretty fun!
22 May 2024
Dumped and depressed, English rose Iris agrees to swap homes with similarly unlucky in love Californian Amanda for a much-needed break. Iris finds herself in a palatial Hollywood mansion while Amanda navigates the lanes of a picture-perfect English village. Soon enough, both lovelorn ladies bump into local lads perfect for a romantic pick-me-up.

I'm not really a big fan of rom-coms but this is one of the ones that I actually enjoyed. Now to make things clear, this isn't one of the greatest movies ever made but it serves its purpose .The dynamic between the characters was what really made me like this one. They're all just so likable! Also, the cast is definitely the main reason in why the movie succeeds as they all fit their characters perfectly. Out of the four characters, I think Kate Winslet's Iris was probably my favourite as she's the one who you would mostly empathize with. However, all 4 actors did an amazing job and had amazing chemistry together. The movie is additionally very funny and entertaining to watch and although I think anything above 2 hours for a rom-com is a bit too much, it works out in this film for some reason.

The Beekeeper (2024)

Another one!
22 May 2024
It's been a while since I've really enjoyed a good action movie. Was this finally going to be the one? One man's brutal campaign for vengeance takes on national stakes after it's revealed he's a former operative of a powerful and clandestine organization known as Beekeepers.

It's been a while since I've really enjoyed a good action movie. The movie started out with a pretty exciting yet not so typical scene. The movies main idea is pretty cliche but it trys to stand out in some little parts. The action scenes, and although they weren't very creative and new, were pretty entertaining to watch but kind of short for my likings. A good thing about this movie is that it's only 1 hour and 40 minutes and the events are pretty fast paced however led to a pretty underwhelming ending. Don't get me wrong, it was action packed but it weren't very impressive.

Jason Statham sticks to the same character for like the trillionth time but for some reason it still works out. He still has that serious character that beats everysingle one of his enemies all on his own with a very limited amount of lines. The rest of the cast was alright. They tried to integrate another big supporting character but it ended up being a one man show with Statham.

Overall, an enjoyable not too long action film.

CRAZY FUNNY!
22 May 2024
Not a horror nor a thriller, but one of the funniest movies I've ever watched! In this mockumentary, vampire housemates (Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, Jonathan Brugh) try to cope with the complexities of modern life and show a newly turned hipster (Cori Gonzalez-Macuer) some of the perks of being undead.

This genuinely was one of the funniest movies I've ever watched. The jokes were so brilliant and hilarious. However, what really makes this one stand out from all other comedy movies is its consistency. Normally, when a movie is a pure comedy filled entirely with jokes, some of those wouldn't be as funny as the other ones throughout that film. Yet, "What We Do in the Shadows" was so consistent and didn't miss any joke in the whole film. What made the jokes even funnier was the delivery by the actors. The cast was just amazing. They were so hilarious each one of them on their own and altogether; you could see how good the chemistry between them is! Additionally, the idea of the film, a mockumentary about Vampires, also helped in elevating the comedy of the movie as there was a lot of room for creative and new jokes.

How realistic the film seems leaves me wondering, could all this be real?!

Absolute Classic!
22 May 2024
"O Captain! My Captain!" A new English teacher, John Keating (Robin Williams), is introduced to an all-boys preparatory school that is known for its ancient traditions and high standards. He uses unorthodox methods to reach out to his students, who face enormous pressures from their parents and the school. With Keating's help, students Neil Perry (Robert Sean Leonard), Todd Anderson (Ethan Hawke) and others learn to break out of their shells, pursue their dreams and seize the day.

I don't think I've ever been that emotional watching any movie ever. The movie is fabricated in a way where you build a very solid connection with all the lead characters. Normally, its pretty difficult for us to find a connection with just one main protagonist in any movie but "Dead Poets Society" was able to make me invested in more than one character in a 2 hours runtime only, which I personally found really impressive.

What really affected the emotional aspect was the incredible performances. Obviously, Robin Williams stands out and delivers one of my personal favourite performances even though I'm pretty sure he didn't have a lot of screen time. Additionally, the whole supporting cast was just perfect and had a really good dynamic especially Williams.

The movie really taught me a lot and I think that is very vital that people experience it and learn from it as it really is an emotional rollercoaster with a lesson.

Please just stop trying
22 May 2024
They've done it again...A master thief is wooed by his ex-girlfriend and the FBI to pull off an impossible heist with his international crew on a 777 passenger flight from London to Zurich.

Netflix just keep trying and trying to make a blockbuster and they always fail. However, they didn't even try this time. The movie was so cliché. It was so basic and a very cheap copy of many hiest movies. Previously, a lot of people have been criticising Kevin Hart for adapting basically the same character in most of his previous films. Well thanks to those people, Kevin Hart actually tries to have a semi-serious character. I'm gonna let you guess how that went.

Now I don't know if they intended on making that way, but the movie wasn't funny...like at all. Like there weren't many attempts of making jokes but even when they tried, they weren't very successful. The acting was also very mediocre and I blame that more on the script than on the actors. Also, the action was pretty bad and the ending was so expected and not creative at all.

Now I actually think that this movie might be a good choice (wait, here me out, I know I just basically said that everything was so bad but) to anyone looking for a background movie while doing something as it doesn't really need much concentration and is only 1 hour and 40 minutes long.

Felt like I've seen this before, still enjoyed it
22 May 2024
When enemies from his past track him down, former elite government assassin Dan packs his wife, teen daughter, teen son, and 10-month-old baby into their minivan and takes off on an impromptu cross-country road trip to Las Vegas.

Going into this, I was expecting a very lame action comedy family movie that I would have to watch in multiple sittings. However, I was quite surprised, and pleased, that that wasn't the case. Now don't get me wrong, the movie's idea is not new and you'll feel like you've watched this multiple times before but I'm actually a fan of the genre and enjoy those types of movies.

To start off, the movie wasn't totally lame. The jokes and the comedic scenarios were pretty decent. The action scenes, and although they weren't many, were quite entertaining and engaging as I feel like they were placed and the right timing. Now the story is basically a combination between an action comedy movie and a family roadtrip movie which was unique and not so unique at the same time. You will see that family bonding and character development that you see in those types of movies but with a little spice to it. Also, the ending and the events leading to the ending were a bit cheesy and predictable.

The whole cast and especially the members of the family had really good performances but Michelle Monaghan really stands out to me.

Overall, a pretty fun movie for people who aren't looking for anything too serious to watch.

Is there a single bad Spider-Man movie?
26 December 2023
You're going to like this movie; it's a cannon event! After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders. He must soon redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The film's story doesn't end in this movie but will he continued in another part which makes you think that this part would be a bit slow. However, the film is very engaging and enjoyable all throughout the 2 hours and 20 minutes runtime where it explores many characters and their developments without making the pace slow and boring. The movie was also filled with suprises from cameos to shocking plot twists. It was also really funny especially that they knew exactly where to include jokes. Additionally, the action scenes were so cool keeping the audience attached even more while watching.

The film is just visually stunning; from the comic style animation, to the background, to the colors, to the textures, its just all so appealing. Everysingle frame was so nice to look at. The score and the sound effects were also so good and exciting. The voice actors (Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Shameik Moore, and every other actor) were all great in their respective characters.

A fun action comedy
26 December 2023
Cast him as the new James Bond. At the height of the Cold War, a mysterious criminal organization plans to use nuclear weapons and technology to upset the fragile balance of power between the United States and Soviet Union. CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) and KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) are forced to put aside their hostilities and work together to stop the evildoers in their tracks. The duo's only lead is the daughter of a missing German scientist, whom they must find soon to prevent a global catastrophe.

To start of, The Man from U. N. C. L. E isn't a blockbuster action movie that has everything you need to get entertained as it has some flaws here and there including the pacing at some parts however, there are many aspects that make this movie a thrilling and fun one. This movie is a great mix between old classic spy movies and modern action movies. Its action packed and really hilarious; one of the funniest action movies in my opinion. The action sequences were really good and some of them even included funny bits. The cinematography is really good and so is the editing. Although the screenplay was pretty good, the script could've been a bit better. In general, Guy Ritchie did a great job.

Acting wise, Henry Cavill stands out as Napoleon Solo (I really hope to see him as the new James Bond) and shares a great chemistry with Armir Hammer who playes Illya Kuryakin. Their love-hate relationship makes the movie even funnier. The rest of the cast was really good too.

Pretty fun ride!
26 December 2023
In the mid-1970s, charismatic English playboy James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl) share an intense rivalry in Formula 1 racing. Driving vehicles that are little more than gas-filled, rolling bombs, Hunt and Lauda burn up the track, all the while pushing themselves to the breaking point of physical and mental endurance. Meanwhile, the women (Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria Lara) in their lives can only watch as both drivers risk death with every lap.

Ever since I developed an obsession with Formula 1, all the old F1 fans have been telling me to watch this movie. To start off, you don't have to be a Formula 1 fan to watch or like this movie at all. However, if you are one and still haven't checked Rush out, you definitely should.

As a sports movie, Rush is an incredibly crafted movie by Ron Howard and Peter Morgan that is very entertaining and focuses on the massive difference between the 2 main characters and how they develop throughout the movie. The cast, and especially Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl as they genuinely emotionally attach the audience to each of their respective characters in a very good way. Also due to their acting and to the brilliant screenplay, you can't really side with one character over the other as both their flows and good parts appear in this film. I just have a slight problem with the movie's pace at just minor instants but overall its a very fun ride.

BRILLIANT!
26 December 2023
What? How? Who? Why? What!! The implausible escape of a brilliant murderess brings U. S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his new partner (Mark Ruffalo) to Ashecliffe Hospital, a fortress-like insane asylum located on a remote, windswept island. The woman appears to have vanished from a locked room, and there are hints of terrible deeds committed within the hospital walls. As the investigation deepens, Teddy realizes he will have to confront his own dark fears if he hopes to make it off the island alive.

I knew nothing about this movie before watching, but so many people suggested it to me saying that its one of the best movies they have ever watched. The expectations were very high and Shutter Island truly didn't disappoint. This film is one of the best in its category. Martin Scorsese builds up a very tense atmosphere from the first frame to the very end of the movie keeping the audience attached and engaged throughout the whole 2 hours and 20 minutes run-time. The whole cast was just incredible but obviously Leonardo DiCaprio stands out giving us one of his greatest performances.

I don't really want to give out much about the plot but its truly a mind messing story that has one of the biggest and most shocking plot twists in movie history. The movie also ends with just one line that has alot of meaning behind it.

Hi Barbie!
26 December 2023
You've waited KENough for this! Barbie and Ken are having the time of their lives in the colorful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.

The Barbie movie was a weird but very successful mixture. It had all the fun and comedy while also hitting on some really deep subjects. To start off, the movie was superrrrrrrr KENtertaining and funny as I found myself laughing out loud many times during the 1 hour and 56 minutes run-time. Margot Robbie was superb as Barbie as she gives various levels to her character that goes through major developments in this movie. Ryan Gosling was also amazing as Ken as he also shares some great chemistry with Margot.

Greta Gerwig just shows how good she is by displaying great attention to details, beautiful set and costume design, and a really funny but deep script; the film was just stunning to look at! Additionally, it included some really good and catchy songs that really suited the mood. Now although the film has its funny and witty jokes, a major part of it was to highlight some major issues and deliver very deep messages in a very clever way and I think we had the perfect balance between those two worlds (although many may disagree). One minor issue I had with this movie was that some aspects were a bit rushed. However, on the larger scheme, this may be disregarded as that's not the movie's general mood.

Draft Day (I) (2014)
8/10
One of my favourite sports movies
26 December 2023
Sonny Weaver Jr. Is the general manager of the Cleveland Browns. One of pro football's most important days, NFL draft day, is drawing near, but Sonny has much more on his mind than just which players to recruit. His lover is pregnant, and the team's owner wants to fire him. After Sonny accepts a deal with Seattle that nets him that team's first-round pick, he immediately wonders if he has made the right choice for himself and the Browns.

I'm a big fan of spots movies, but this one just hits different. This isn't your typical sports movie where a team is losing and you're rooting for them throughout the whole film until they get a very emotional win at the end. Actually, there aren't any sports scenes throughout the whole movie, but rather the behind the scenes of this sport that not too many people know.

The film presents the intensity before every selection in the draft from all points of views including the manager, the team owner, the team's staff, the team's player's, all the players that are to be drafted, and even their families. Kevin Costner is amazing as Sonny Weaver who's the Cleveland Browns' manager and who goes through major character development in just 13 hours. Many other big actors like Jennifer Garner and Chadwick Boseman also did great in their roles. The whole movie builds up to the draft which was a great part of the movie. The last 30 minutes were just so good shocking. I want talk about it anymore so I don't ruin that part if you end up watching it.

Rain Man (1988)

Amazing
26 December 2023
Rain Man:

"I just realized I'm not pissed off anymore.". When car dealer Charlie Babbitt (Tom Cruise) learns that his estranged father has died, he returns home to Cincinnati, where he discovers that he has an autistic older brother named Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) and that his father's $3 million fortune is being left to the mental institution in which Raymond lives. Motivated by his father's money, Charlie checks Raymond out of the facility in order to return with him to Los Angeles. The brothers' cross-country trip ends up changing both their lives.

With a simple idea, Rain Man stands out as a not so typical road movie. It tackles so many sensitive and important subjects and issues. The movie is very touching and truly is an emotional rollercoaster. That main reason for that is the outstanding performances by both lead actors. Tom cruise proves that hes not just a good looking action movie star as he becomes the character and evolves with it. Dustin Hoffman was able to pour all his emotions into this character. His performance is truly one of the best I've seen ever! All the details in this character were just on point.

The story is amazingly good; its very creative and so well developed. The script is really good and gives a lot of depth to the movie's characters. Even after 35 years of its release date, its still relevant and very entertaining. A classic, and it shall forever stay that way!

Best Wes Anderson film

Approximately 3 years ago, I watched this movie and thought that it was very basic and boring. However, as I got more and more into movies, I started to understand and enjoy this style; this state of art. Suddenly, I started to enjoy and love Wes Anderson movies. So, after watching "Asteroid City" followed by the set of shorts Wes dropped on Netflix, I decided to rewatch "The Grand Budapest Hotel."

In the 1930s, the Grand Budapest Hotel is a popular European ski resort, presided over by concierge Gustave H. (Ralph Fiennes). Zero, a junior lobby boy, becomes Gustave's friend and protege. Gustave prides himself on providing first-class service to the hotel's guests, including satisfying the sexual needs of the many elderly women who stay there. When one of Gustave's lovers dies mysteriously, Gustave finds himself the recipient of a priceless painting and the chief suspect in her murder.

I say this about approximately everysingle Wes Anderson movie but it applies the best here. Every frame as itself is a piece of art. Its genuinely so nice to look at. What really adds to the beauty of the film is all the details scattered here and there which make the experience of just seeing the movie more and more exciting. Additionally, the whole cast is so good in there respective roles. Unlike some other Wes Anderson movies, the story is very clear and creative here. You can truly enjoy both the visual and story aspects of the film simultaneously.

Score:9/10.

It's so much of a box office flop that I watched it on YouTube for free

Squirrel to the nuts! The cast and crew of a Broadway play are thrown into a romantic roundelay when a lecherous director (Owen Wilson) hires a hooker-turned-actress (Imogen Poots) to star alongside his wife (Kathryn Hahn) and his wife's ex-lover (Rhys Ifans).

To start, this movie isn't for everyone. If you're not into typical rom-coms then you won't really enjoy this one. However, if you are a fan of those types of movies then you should definitely check it out if you still haven't. The movie is very funny; the jokes are actually funny and not just silly like other movies of the same type. The script is very well written which is one of the main reasons this film succeeds in being funny. Imogen Poots delivers a great and funny performance especially with the accent she has in the movie. The rest of the cast, including: Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston, Kathryn Hahn, Will Forte, and Rhys Ifans were also great in their respective roles. Also, the movie ends with a very shocking cameo. (movie enthusiasts would love to see this person)

Now with this huge cast, you'd expect a lot of people to know about this movie. But apparently not. "She's Funny that Way" only cost the production company 10 million dollars but only grossed 6 million in the box office and I kind of understand why. The movie doesn't really standout compared to other movies from the same gnere. Also, the target audience to this movie is pretty small as only rom-com fans will enjoy it and others will think that its very silly and repetitive. It's a bit slow paced at some instants but for me it was pretty enjoyable overall.

Pain Hustlers (2023)
8/10
Pretty entertaining

After losing her job, a woman who's struggling to raise her daughter takes a job out of desperation. She begins work at a failing pharmaceutical startup, but what she doesn't anticipate is the dangerous racketeering scheme she's suddenly entered.

Before watching this movie, I saw that it's getting so many bad reviews and ratings and after watching it, I really don't understand why. The film was so entertaining all throughout. The story was actually very interesting. Yes, there are so many stories about the rise and fall of a company however thisone, for some reason, stands out for me. The director, David Yates, decides to portray his story from the side of his protagonist who could also be seen as the antagonist. So definitely its very subjective. Yet, it serves its purpose in the whole sequence of the film.

Emily Blunt's performance was outstanding to me. She's able to lead this movie with her character that seems to be multidimensional. Chris Evans is very good at portraying this vulgar annoying character. Its nice seeing him play a character thats completely different from Captain America's character. Overall, solid performances from all the cast.

The Killer (2023)
7/10
...he kills
26 December 2023
A man solitary and cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. And yet the longer he waits, the more he thinks he's losing his mind, if not his cool. A brutal, bloody and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.

If you're looking for a movie with a well developed and deep plot, or actually any plot at all, you can already stop reading the review. However, if you're not that picky, you can stick with me for just a little bit more. The movie barely has any dialogue; most of it is just narration by our "Killer" and I quite liked that aspect. Although that might sound boring, Michael Fassbender's tone of narration alongside the action that's going on the screen makes it pretty entertaining and different. Also, his performance in this movie was pretty storng and significant.

This movie, which is based on the French graphic novel that holds the same name, lacks a strong plot and story. Its just stages our killer has to do before doing his job...killing. There are many good intense scenes that I really enjoyed during the movie but at the same time there are many that are very slow based. However, I personally didn't feel any kind of boredom in those scenes but I definitely understand why some people would. If you're still reading this somehow then I definitely recommend that you watch this film.

Score:7.5/10.
