Donnie Darko (2001)
I'll never see rabbits the same way again
Richard Kelly should be very proud of this, his debut film, it is everything all at once.
This is a horrifying and disturbing film yet it is very funny and has a sound track that doesn't seem like it should fit although it does and it does that really really well, who'd have thought 80's bands would sound so good?
Donnie Darko is an intelligent, sex driven, depressed and yet at times very normal student who is haunted by visions of a deep spoken bunny rabbit. It sounds childish but it is really chilling.
High school films are generally cheesy funny films but this is a seriously dark film that is like many many films in some aspects but unique for its storyline.
Go out and see this film, right now!
Saltwater (2000)
Interesting and different film
You wouldn't have thought a film about an Irish chip shop having money troubles would make such a great film, this is a mini classic if I have seen one.
Great work and it is well deserved.
You'll laugh a lot and you'll probably be shocked at some parts also.
Happiness (1998)
It'll change your life
This is the sort of film that will change your ideas and maybe your life, probably for the better.
Madness is in everyone and it wants to come out and in this film people are mad.
Great film which is mentally challenging and has great acting and disturbing ideas.
one of a kind
10/10
Donuts for Breakfast (2000)
A disturbing and very valid film.
This short film was very disturbing and it drives home that children should be treated with the care and respect they deserve.
The young girl who is abused in the film acts perfectly around a well constructed plot.
All I can say is that this was an all round difficult yet great film.
Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (2001)
The most beautiful foreign film ever to be!
Beautifully romantic and funny and marvelous music and great direction and visual effects, the list is endless. The film is a classic, it has the feeling of a lifetime in the film. It could have been set in the early 1900's, now, or well into the future.
Paris has never looked so fabulous.
Anyone who can read will adore this film guaranteed.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Squashed people can occasionally rule
I think that this film was really good but I seriously don't think it deserves it's place as 2nd best film of all time, not for anything.
There was a lot of things I enjoyed about the film, the visual effects were possibly the best I have seen and that did help the film be more interesting I thought.
Very good film, not my favourite but probably somewhere in the top 20 films I have seen.. it certainly wasn't my favourite.
