Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022)
No, no, no, NO! Klingons that...
Season 2 has been an increasing disappointment.
What the scriptwriters have been smoking, we could only speculate about.
I witnessed a recent episode where the characters were forced to perform as if in a rejected musical, way off Broadway. A Klingon ballet!? Now I've seen it all.
Is the production team deliberately setting out to destroy Roddenberry's legacy? Is this a pathetic attempt to create a new fan base? Even without these musical elements, this season has been a downward spiral in terms of script and plot.
I'll have to go back to re-watching the old series and try to shake off this abomination.
Låt den rätte komma in (2008)
I don't get it.
Why this film gets so much praise is beyond me. It doesn't capture me at all. It's a dull story about a bullied boy, living in a dull suburb of Stockholm, going in i dull school with cruel classmates. He meet a vampire-girl (there's a twist) and becomes friends with her. To me this is a very shallow film, which don't awake any feelings towards the characters. The acting is not very good. You don't believe in the characters. It's full of missed lines and unintentional stuttering. This is a film you wish you read as a book instead. It's a badly casted movie with decent photo and horrible music. A remake could only be an improvement.
Sluga Gosudarev (2007)
What the....?
I was excited to finally see the Russian view on this historical event. But what did I get?
The story is a shallow version of a well documented epoch. In this story, that takes place in the 18th century in a war weary Europe, the Polish and Russian countryside are overcrowded by busty beauties, brutal and horny soldier of Charles XII and two french noblemen caught in the middle of two armies. It's beautiful filmed but... thats it. Stereotyped and full of clichés. The swedes got their asses kicked, but not in this way.
Now and then I thought I was watching a danish soft-core comedy from the 70s.
