Eega (2012)
Very creative, entertaining and Unique
Totally unique storyline here, having the main character as a fly you wouldn't expect it to be so entertaining, but it truly is.
The concept is bit odd but totally works, execution wise acting ,camera work effects reallly did a great job.
Its super emotional and dramatic at times keeps you at the edge of your seat during climax.
They did a amazing work making a fly look like it has emotions and thought processing, it looked pretty convincing.
The movie makes you take a even a flys life and behavior seriously.
Very thought provoking.
This was my first South Indian movie that I have seen, I must say it very impressive.
Stranger Things (2016)
Beyond two souls reference?
Not sure its lived up to the hype there is around this series. If you have seen similar story like beyond two souls/ life is strange, you may not find it as interesting. The theme is more of horror than scifi. Starring main leads as kids makes this less serious.. but here the kids do swear lile adults do.
Its seems to make a lot of references from pop scifi theories, parallel universes, dark dimensions, 4h dimension( which was taken from very popular youtube video on how to break/reach 4th dimension).
It takes what you may have seen or heard on internet, so it doesnt feel unique. Overall it was a interesting watch.
Beyond: Two Souls (2013)
Insanely unique, immersive story
All characters in story are very well written, the way they behave just makes sense which tells tjat its written thoughtfully.
The protagonist story is complete rollercoaster ride of emotions, as a viewer you feel lile you are experiencing what the protagonist is.
Given the length of the video game it feels like you're watching a series for months on.
Its quite a lengthy watch.
Its better to watch in parts like a series.
The second half becomes a tad bit too much, due to amount of twists and turns the story takes.
But its worth it in the end, the ending is very nicely put. Almost great to watch because of the as a viewer the story keeps you on the edge of yr seat the whole time, the ending is more peacefull and happy.
Simran (2017)
Disappointing watch
The movie seemed to going to good direction initially but went completely downhill in first 10.15 mins,
The main actress tried to play the character convincingly but the problem is character itself is too chaotic, un relatable.
The story just turns darker and darker after the first half of movie which is complete disappoinment because it completely contradicts the point of movie portrayed.
There is no consistency in chracters or story of the film.
There is pseudo feminism theme in film which doesnt make any sense because the story is literally making fun of downfall of the main female character who fails to get her life together in every scene.( its almost regressive+ depressing to watch. )
At the end you are left feeling un hopeful, confused, just negative towards what you watched.
Ponniyin Selvan: Part One (2022)
It no fun for those who dont have any context about the story
Its difficult to make sense of story or characters clearly due to mismatch of scenes together.
Maybe it can be entertaining for those who were already familiar with the story.
It leaves the audience asking why? To characters choices and actions.
I dont know if the story got lost in translation somewhere, because the point its trying to make is not clear enough.
Characters that seem to popped out of nowhere are suddenly pivotal to the story but audience has no clue why? How?
There just isnt enough info to connect the dots.
There were bunch of flashback scenes that aimed to give some info abt chracters past but camera work was too chaotic.
Laal Singh Chaddha (2022)
It's a pretty decent film
It still good to watch even if you have seen forest gump, a lot of context and situations have changed wrt culture. Soft melodies songs are a nice bonus to this feel good movie.
There arent many films that have good heart, sentimental story like this one, so this one feels special when you watch it.
Some acting choices were bit odd in some scenes..
Rest of acting work looked natural.
