Indefensible and unprofessional
6 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The first 7 episodes were a nightmare for the girls' mental and physical health. They deliberately created situations where they could break their ankles, get burned, or suffer serious injuries.

Episode 8 was the crowning touch to everything we can call unethical and disgusting towards the models.

Complete vulnerability and threat-fear of the consequences if they said no. It is incomprehensible to me why, if they were taking silhouette photos anyway, they forced them to be naked. In today's world, there are so many types, of almost invisible tools that can perfectly cover intimate body parts while preserving the model's comfort and respecting their humanity.

The show's producers, the jury, and the photographers all failed miserably. The whole thing is indefensible and unprofessional.

Civil War (2024)
6/10
The show must go on
21 April 2024
A perfect depiction of a media that steamrolls over everything and everyone. Nothing matters, only the story. The movie is a vision of a second American Civil War. The reasons are unknown, but one thing is certain, the government and the president are deeply involved. People are killing each other, no one is sure who is an enemy and who is an ally.

The mad revel in it, wading through blood wherever they can. A megamix of nightmares. The influence of current politics is felt in the film. Too much time has passed since World War II, the media craves blood, corpses, and stories.

The show must go on.

Surprisingly effective and intriguing
22 March 2024
Surprisingly good adaptation from Netflix. The book and the Chinese series both progress much slower with the story, and I found Netflix's faster pace surprisingly better. Some changes made me think, especially regarding the casting, but they fit into their roles quite pleasantly. They couldn't have chosen better than Benedict Wong for the role of the eccentric but brilliant detective. I am always very critical of book adaptations, but this time I can say that both the creators and the actors cleared the hurdle well. I'm curious to see if there will be a sequel or if it's planned. I hope they will.

Irish Wish (2024)

I don't think Saint Brigid usual outfit is kurti and pants
15 March 2024
"Irish Wish" leaves one yearning for a richer exploration of Irish folklore. The choice to dress Saint Brigid in kurti and pants feels incongruous, detracting from the cultural authenticity one might expect. While the film has its moments, it falls short of fully embracing the enchanting potential of its Irish setting. The absence of quintessential elements such as leprechauns and fairies, or at the very least, a nod to the playful nature of leprechauns, is a missed opportunity to delve deeper into the magical essence of Irish mythology.

It's truly regrettable that it turned out to be so devoid of creativity.

An utterly pointless nonsense
14 March 2024
At first, I found it just annoying, but eventually, I was just waiting for it to end. The only one I could hardly bear throughout the entire 1 hour and 52 minutes was none other than Zawe Ashton.

I could have even forgiven the mixed-selected cast, but not the bad acting. There's no excuse for that. Zawe Ashton once again proved that she is worth nothing as an actor in a role that requires sophistication.

This film is just throwing time and money down the drain. Maybe they should have 'squandered' it on something else entirely.

The story not bad, cheesy a little, could have been much better...

Expensive skeleton of the book
1 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The adaptation notably lacks the vibrancy of the original. The director leveraged contemporary cinematic techniques in an attempt to mask his incapacity to translate such an ambitious project onto the screen. He not only altered but effectively eviscerated the narrative, disregarding the nuanced dialogues meticulously crafted by Frank Herbert, thus undermining the integrity of what promised to be a remarkable film. The performances still fall short of expectations. It was particularly disheartening to witness the transformation of the face of Paul, a character of profound strength in the novel, into one of palpable dread during his confrontation with Feyd-Rautha. The director has distorted or entirely omitted sections of the narrative that were critical and intriguing, rendering the film a mere shadow of the book's rich tapestry. It is a lamentable outcome.

The Changeling (2023– )
6/10
1-6
29 October 2023
The first 6 episodes are exciting, gripping, sometimes frightening but always captivating. You want to know why things are happening. The 7th episode, to be honest, the actress who plays the older Lillian (Adina Porter) is very off-putting. This episode could have been better, but all I saw was confusion. The last episode, the 8th... I expected much more from it. Why did they have to ruin the last 3 minutes so much? Just showing glimpses of what Apollo found? They successfully ruined this series as well. It's as if they make every series just to thoroughly mess up the ending. 6/10. That's it..

Homeland (2011–2020)

I watch the series with agony 3/10 and 10/10
27 September 2023
Years ago, I started watching this series but had to stop even before the end of the first season. I had to stop. I'll start with the music of the series. It's annoying, cacophonic, and in itself causes mental disturbance just by sounding. It's unbelievable that anyone would love this. I would continue with the protagonist of the series. It's a role, everyone understands that. But the actress's performance creates such immeasurable aversion that some call it a fantastic ability and mention the actress among the best. The constantly exhausting eyes, stuttering, inability to make eye contact, wavering between laughter and hysteria. They say that some are still beautiful even when they cry. I can definitively state that watching the actress's cries and hysterical outbursts was torture. And not because of pity for the character, but because of the actress's distorted, often repulsive facial expressions. I consider it impossible - and here I am rating the work of the series' writer, or the director, professional advisors - that anyone who sees such a person, moreover for years, wouldn't suspect that something is very wrong inside - in her head.

I watch the series with agony. Only because of the other characters and the story was I willing to watch it all. Yes, the actress is playing a role. But everything has its limit. She portrays a human wreck, a horror that a sane person would not want to see. And I doubt that such people could hold such positions. The story is 10/10. But due to the actress, it doesn't even deserve a 3/10.

Ahsoka (2023– )
7/10
Looks very promising
8 September 2023
I've been aboard the Star Wars train for years now, and the anticipation for "Ahsoka" was real. For the most part, the series delivers. The space escapades, rich lore, and character development? Top-notch. You're transported into a galaxy far, far away, and for the majority of the ride, it's exhilarating.

However, there's one element that, for me, threw a spanner in the works - Shin Hati's portrayal of her character. Honestly, I found it rather distracting. Her constant wide-eyed demeanor felt less like a genuine character trait and more like overacting. It gave off an air of perpetual astonishment or madness that just didn't gel with the rest of the series. Each time she appeared on screen, I found myself slightly bracing for those wide-opened eyes and that same rigid expression. It became more of an irritant than an asset.

Don't get me wrong, the series as a whole is a worthy addition to the Star Wars universe, and I'd recommend it in a heartbeat. But I just wish Shin's character had been delivered with a bit more nuance and less... intensity? For now, I'm rooting for the series and hoping future episodes might bring a change in her portrayal. 7/10 (instead of 9/10 with one star docked mainly due to that distracting performance.

Dune (2021)
5/10
Inaccurate, silly...annoying
23 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I've watched this movie a few times and the numerous inaccuracies are increasingly annoying. Jessica's silly fear. That she doesn't know about her pregnancy even though she received the best Bene Gesserit training (The Reverend Mother chastised her for not only giving birth to daughters, as a Bene Gesserit can influence the sex of the unborn child) and she tells Paul that she just "suspects" she's pregnant. I think the director just skimmed the book, or someone told him about it, or he had someone else read it and asked for a summary. It's annoying, very annoying. Unfortunately, I am sure that there will be even more annoying foolishness in the second part.

Villeneuve wanted to create his own epic Dune, not the Frank Herbert Dune. He wasn't even clever enough to stick to a facts what does Benne Gesserit means and what they represent.

Who didn't read a books, maybe them is a good movie. But me, who read the books at 13 years old and re-read them at 20+ and 30+...not just annoying, this Dune is a botch job.

From (2022– )
7/10
Interesting, badly presented, annoying
15 July 2023
There's a very thin line between intrigue and irritation when a TV series opts for an ongoing chain of questions rather than a decisive reveal of its mysteries. "From," a horror TV series, teeters on this line, consistently evading resolution, leading to an unfortunate plummet into the abyss of viewer frustration.

"From" starts off as a promising venture, wielding an enticing blend of spine-chilling elements and carefully crafted characters that instantly pique our curiosity. The ominous town, the mysterious creatures lurking in its shadows, and the palpable sense of dread permeating each scene offer a tantalizing cocktail of horror that initially sends anticipatory shivers down our spines.

However, the delight of this eerie allure wears thin as the series progresses. Season after season, "From" bombards viewers with countless unanswered questions, each more convoluted and perplexing than the last. This unending cycle of mysteries is a blatant attempt to maintain suspense, but it ultimately backfires. Instead of creating a captivating labyrinth of enigmas to unravel, it builds a monotonous maze that merely exhausts the viewers' patience.

The constant deferral of any sort of resolution becomes truly tiresome. The horror, which should be a bone-chilling aspect of the series, is overshadowed by the annoyance and frustration caused by this persistent evasion of answers. The only terror the viewers are left with is the dread of yet another cliffhanger leading to yet another unfulfilled promise of revelation.

The series' narrative appears more concerned with introducing new plot threads than tying up the loose ends of the existing ones. Every plot twist, instead of providing a shocking revelation that reshapes our understanding of the narrative, just leads to another puzzle piece that doesn't fit anywhere yet. This is deeply frustrating for viewers who yearn for progress in the storyline, who crave to understand the depths of the horrors "From" wishes to explore.

Moreover, the performances, while commendable, are overshadowed by the incoherent narrative structure. The characters are put through an endless cycle of questions and hollow discoveries that amount to nothing substantial. As a result, the characters feel stuck in a loop of ignorance and dread, creating a stagnation that detracts from the drama and investment that should naturally accompany such a horror narrative.

The aesthetics of the series are, arguably, its only saving grace. The eerie atmosphere, the chilling cinematography, the sinister soundscapes - they all work in unison to craft an impressively haunting world. However, even these merits cannot compensate for the series' irritatingly elusive storytelling.

In essence, "From" is a horror series that attempts to weave a web of intricate mysteries but ends up ensnaring itself in its own complexities. It loses sight of the crucial balance between suspense and revelation, resulting in a weary dance of ceaseless questions and scarce answers. While it might have initially hooked viewers with its blend of horror and intrigue, the series ultimately morphs into a tiresome and annoying parade of endless mysteries. As a viewer, one hopes that "From" will eventually realize that the real horror lies not in the questions left unanswered but in the possibility that these questions might never be answered at all.

Silo (2023– )
7/10
Missed Opportunity for a Gripping Sci Fi Series
19 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The 10-part adaptation of Hugh Howey's popular trilogy had an ocean of potential. With its meticulously designed dystopian world set in a subterranean silo, where the last humans survive, awaiting the recovery of the toxic-ravaged Earth, the show promised an intriguing exploration of humanity's endurance in dire circumstances.

Yet, as an avid fan of sci-fi, I find myself caught in a quandary of mixed feelings. The series diverges from the book in unexpected ways, which isn't inherently bad, but it certainly raises eyebrows. The series introduces a myriad of questions, building a complex web of intrigue, with "relics" and the past becoming contraband and criminal topics. However, with only 10 episodes - a very bad tendency nowadays - to its name and probably a year-long wait until the next season, it leaves the audience grappling with confusion and frustration. The questions piled up high, but the answers? They were as scarce as sunlight in the silo.

The characters, unfortunately, didn't offer much solace. They felt like superficial cutouts, lacking depth and relatability. Rebecca Ferguson, who plays Juliette, the engineer in charge of the furnace upon which the silo depends, sadly didn't impress. The same motionless face, the same body movements - it felt like a repeat performance of her role in Dune, which I found bad as well. I found myself longing for more expressions, more dynamism, more: life.

Silo attempts to be many things - a critique of the class system, a study in erasure, a tale of truth and denial, but in its quest to be all, it risks being none. It's a feast for the eyes with its rich world-building, but leaves you starved for coherence and character depth. It's not all doom and gloom, though. There are moments when the series shines, but quickly goes into oblivion.

Overall, Silo is a mixed bag of highs and lows. It's a series that could've been a riveting watch but falls short due to its hasty narrative and lack of depth in character portrayal. Here's hoping that the next season addresses these concerns and provides a more satisfying viewing experience.

Black Knight (2023– )

Asian movies better than Western counterparts
13 May 2023
"Black Knight" is a perfect example of why Asian TV is currently leading the pack. Unlike some Western dystopian shows that often rely heavily on special effects, "Black Knight" uses a compelling story and deep characters to draw you in. It's set in a future where oxygen is delivered like pizza, and the twists and turns in the plot are mind-blowing. Its Asian setting adds a unique flavor, blending futuristic tech with rich traditions. This show proves that Asian TV is more than just a rival to the West - it's setting the bar. I can't wait for more like this to come. I think it's a good wake-up for other directors.

One of the best
18 January 2023
One of the best series in the genre. I love all actors and actress in this series. I can't wait every new episode and if I can't wait sometimes I go back and watch previous seasons.

Law & order series all of them are very good. Mariska makes this one very special. She is a good actress, her personality worth at least 2-3 stars from a 10 I gave. I hope the series will continue for years. I hope that - I'm too naive, maybe - the IRL cops learn from this series and find their courage to be a good cop. C Meloni, Ice-T, and all the old and new characters placed something special in this series, time to time the old ones should come back.

Shocking story
17 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I follow this story from the beginning. I was shocked and often can't stop crying about what the media - and those behind the media - did and still do to them. The hate campaign and what the Bot Sentinel CEO said about the small group of ppl who created hundreds of other accounts just to post and comment hateful words, and lies to destroy these two human beings. They tried to destroy them and even threatens their children, that's a criminal offense.

And look like no one can do anything about it. I hope is just look like!

I wish Harry and Meghan all the best. I wish them peace, love and fortune. I wish I could do something to help them. I wish the world wouldn't be like this.

Breathtaking, heartbreaking, hopeful
16 December 2022
These three words came to my mind when I watched the beautiful Pandora, when I have seen how some humans try to destroy, rob and they despise everything beautiful. I saw that hope can't be destroyed, or robbed.

Hope always stays with us who feel a strong desire, hankered for a deep connection and meaningful life.

James Cameron gave us a much deeper meaning than a simple beautiful movie. He is a contemporary J. R. R Tolkien and Frank Herbert.

These years, waiting for a 2nd movie...I hope till the next one won't be too long. I'm grateful to live and see his magic. And I could learn the way of water.

Have you ever...
22 August 2022
Have you ever lost interest of a movie/series because you found actors / actress who absolutely not likable because of how they look like or because of lack of acting skills? Have you ever found these two things in one person?

Yeah, that is Emma D'arcy aka Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen I'm sorry, really...just I can't watch her fish-blooded acting, she has absolutely no facial expression and ...everyone met in their lives with a few people who has a type of face just cause inconviniently bad vibe...?
