Constantine (2005)

a smooth and refreshing transition, overall a good movie.

I went into Constantine not knowing fully what to expect. I just knew of what I had read in the Vertigo/DC comics "Hellblazer/Constantine". Having read a few of the graphic novels I knew a few things about it and when i judged by the previews I was a bit off put by it. Although when I actually saw it in the theater I was pleasantly surprised that it was as smooth as it was. Visually it looked great and the director did a great job with it, especially since I believe since this was his first full feature motion picture. On top of that I thought Reeves executed the character of John Constantine quite well. For those of you that don't know John Constantine is English and blonde in the comics but his attitude is what was important and Reeves nailed it down. Overall I really enjoyed it had I not knew anything at all because it stands alone well and does referrals to the comic back and forth which the normal movie fan would not need. I liked it quite a bit.

The Forsaken (2001)

Dracula was wrong

The movie was fair, going with a couple of twists and some cool heroes is okay. Some of it a bit cheesy, not too mention making any other vampire movie you have ever seen null and void its still okay. Forget what you have learned from any other vampire movie this ones in a league of its own. Action sequences are very cool but leaves some of the finer points a blank. Probably should make this one a rental.

One Night at McCool's (2001)

good review with little slander

I thought the movie was good not quite excellent standards but definitely entertaining. The role that Michael Douglas played was excellent and how everything rolled into one was wonderful. A nice comparison for the movie "Snatch" which is also on a high recommendation list from me. All together this movie is funny, at times action filled, and yes even a little dramatic. Its a good movie to watch I enjoyed it.

Mallrats (1995)

Comic fans dream

This movie is excellently written and also well directed. The seemingly unknown cast at that time does an excellent job of showing off some until that time uncredited talent. The movie shows off more than just some unseen actors and actresses, it shows what a great writer Kevin Smith is to keep many movie critics intrigued and many teens and twenty something's wondering whats going to happen next. With enough laughs and excitement to keep most anybody happy and enough comic related comments to have even your most closet "fan boy" laughing his butt off. This movie is one of Kevin Smith's finest.
