Ela Veezha Poonchira (2022)
Something's missing?!
Rating - 7.4
We've all seen the cliché story of Ela Veezha Poonchira (2022), but something about this movie feels so fresh and that deserves praise. This is one of those movies that keeps you engaged from starting to the end, but it kind of gives you a feeling that something is missing when the movie ends. Don't get me wrong, this is a really well made movie and there is literally nothing to add to it. The highlights are great performance from the cast, good background score, an overall good direction, the atmosphere, the Suspense and the Thrilling element that holds the audiences attention to the very end of the movie.
And so yeah, this movie is underrated for some reason that I can't make out. It is a one time watchable movie, but most of the movies that doesn't have half the quality of Ela Veezha Poonchira (2022) have gotten better recognition. Though for some viewers the first half might feel slow paced, it's one of my favorite parts of this movie.

Mukundan Unni Associates (2022)
Better Call Mukundan Unni!
Rating - A solid 8.7/10
I have to say that this movie is underrated in a sense that it hasn't created much of a buzz. Mukundan Unni Associates (2022) has been perfectly casted and the acting from every single one of them is just perfect. I like how the maker's have tried something new by introducing a character like Adv. Mukandan Unni. The greedy, super smart and apathetic Mukundan Unni is so well presented by Vineeth Sreenivasan.
Overall - Yes, the movie feels like Mukundan Unni is very lucky and that he gets away with whatever he does. But the the dark comedy, the character depth, the acting and everything combined with a solid script and direction makes up for that. This is a great movie and is easily one of the best of 2022.

Gold (2022)
This GOLD is made out of PLASTIC!
If we could all look beyond the overall quality of this movie, at least everyone could agree that Alphonse Puthren is trying something new and he deserves praise for just that and that only.
The sad thing is that Gold (2022) could have been a great movie with better Direction from the makers. They should have clearly gone easy on the editing part because it's just unwanted texts from dialogues scattered all over the screen and slow motion scenes for no reason at all. Just FORCED into the movie. The same thing goes for the overall casting of the movie. It's as if the Director was trying to do a lot of things in a single shot. Most of the time this movie gives a short film vibe because of its below average directions.
Overall, Gold (2022) has good potential plot wise but fails in a lot of the other aspects. I get that most of the audience didn't like the movie at all and the main reason for that is because it's not by any means a movie for the theatrical audience, it should have been initially released through OTT.

Sardar (2022)
Sardar has it's moments, but...
Fails to keep the audience engaged throughout the movie due to songs, dance, romantic scenes and too much fight scenes (that looks so Unnatural). The movie should have sticked to a single genre (ie, a thriller). But there are moments which deserved an overall better movie. Some scenes have logical errors that are too obvious for the viewers to notice. Anyone who doesn't want to waste 2.43 hrs can fast forward from 1:30:00 and still understand the whole movie.
Overall Sardar (2022) has a good message but misses a good Direction from the crew.
Rating: 6.8/10
