Scare Zone (2009)
Generic boring garbage
Do you like clichés? Oh boy, has this movie got them!
From the "fun" montage of characters acting wacky while some generic wuss rock song plays, to the typical horror movie non-ending, this one has it all!
Don't worry, no one who made this movie put any thought into it, ideas are hard! I'll give it this...it was shot well enough and the actors were fine. But man, what audience is there for this junk anymore? It seems like the only people making slashers are out of touch old dudes making something they liked as a kid, but a worse version of it. At least I saw it for free on Youtube.
30 Girls 30 Days (2012)
Horrible!
Pathetic, unfunny, lame. Just terrible in all ways. I like nudity but my lord, after awhile it just gets ridiculous, especially with every woman talking like a porn star.
And it's not funny, ever, at all. No jokes. Actually, I'll give them a few of the pick up one liners but I doubt those were original. There's a million of those around.
The cast is filled with douchebags who seem like they're basically playing themselves. The lead actor is gross and all the lame, stocky middle ages bros made me want to throw up.
What did this cost, around eight bucks?
Reflections of Evil (2002)
Amazing movie, watch at your own peril
Amazing movie...it's pretty much indescribable. A combination of slapstick, horror, comedy, weirdness...even the funny parts are dark as hell. It's an assault on the senses, a constant, loud, crazy, violent, hilarious assault. But at the same time, it's some weird commentary on society, but I'll be danged if I can tell exactly what it is.
I give it 9 out of 10 simply because every scene is three times longer than it needs to be...but at the same time, that gives the movie its hypnotic quality. It's pretty much three types of scenes repeated over and over, and the scenes of Bob wandering through the hostile landscape of LA are masterpieces.
See this movie, but be warned...it's only for those who can take the weirdest of the weird.
The Final Member (2012)
This is the kind of movie dorks release
Wow, a quirky subject! And it did sound like it could be interesting...but ultimately it's just pretty dull. The characters, who cares? It's just one big talk about their johnsons and it gets pretty tiring. Look at a documentary like, say, American Scream. That's sort of a quirky small scale subject for a doc, but there's a lot of layers and the people are interesting, and there's drama and laughs. I think film dorks like the Alamo bunch tend to get so caught up in a concept the rest doesn't matter. See how nerds reacted to th idea of Snakes on a Plane for example.
Basically what I'm saying is, sometimes the film dorks have the worst taste. Case in point: The Final Member.
The Killing Games (2012)
Holy cow, this movie is AWFUL.
It's trying...I'll give you that, it's TRYING to be disturbing. But it just fails hilariously. There are several plot threads, none of which have anything to do with each other. Random characters pop up and then act like we know who they are or how they got there. The acting is abysmal pretty much across the board. Except there's a cop who is also terrible, but at least he's acting like a cartoon so he's a little more fun.
So, pluses? Well, there's some nudity, so...I guess that's good.
Seriously, the guy who made this movie must be about the dumbest guy out there. He can't even get the very basics rights. Like, who is this person and what is their relation to anyone else? It's hilarious.
