616 Wilford Lane (2021)
Best thing about this movie is it is short.
Went into this movie knowing it was short, I expected nothing... so that is the only reason I saw it to the end. The needless cussing added nothing but cheesiness. The stereotypical slutty realestate agent was laughable. The casting of 2 "teenage" girls....yeah also unbelievable.... HOWEVER... the only redeeming quality of this film was the ending...not expected and confusing and the more I think about it....yeah it was garbage. Personally i would nit recommend this to anyone. Now the movie "The Lie" was a great movie for twists and turns...real life is more frightening than bs paranormal drivel....hope this gets to the 119 more characters needed!
The Good Heart (2009)
12 years later still a winner!
Found this movie during a sleepless night and what a gift! Loved it so much watched it 12 hours later and it effected me the same! This review gets long so I will start with: highly recommend!
Enjoyed the acting, the script, the characters the set, and even the strange music! I could not relate to any bit of it (functional crazies meet alcoholics)but found the story line compelling probably because it is an original! Thank you for that! Kindness personified in the most simple character who was completely and purely kind who lived a hard hopeless yet seemingly content life had to be taught to be rude. Lucas's extremely kind demeanor was so powerful it changed Jacques and more than saved his life, he gave him life!
The character Aprill was interesting but the ending was unresolved and I found that unsettling.
Last Call (2019)
Salient
Great great movie, script, directing, acting and music...and not necessarily in that order. The stark set was something anyone can relate to. Going to a job because you have to. Owning the result of poor choices and desperate for help the young woman is consumed by another person's serendipitous cry for help. She instinctively offers support, concern and encouragement.
I usually view films as a super critic not worthy of my time but this film was way different. I was swept into this film....oh yeah it did that to me! It is in a category by itself...charged with anxiety, fear, deep sadness and profound despair..
Entertaining? Absolutley not! Felt guilty for watching such suffering
Subject matter was brilliant..
Thank you for this work.
Homebound (2021)
It wasn't the worst movie...
Loads of potential but right from the get go the script was lacking...facial expressions with no context was confusing. Acting was decent considering the story they were given. More violence than suspense. Normal looking people that are completely wacked out. Poor Holly has come to realize she is married to a complete psychopath. Pretty much a predictable story...the only "new" twist was the father giving his kids alcohol! Oh and maybe the youngest having a doll cemetary.... Nice set, directors house ? Music was about on par with the script not sure who edited this movie but maybe they cut out the good parts...
Low budget.
