Frailty (2001)
Dark and extemely well done
I dnt want to ramble on this movie. It is fabulous. Brilliant script, direction and acting make this a cant miss for fans of the Horror/Mystery/Suspense genres. One of the best films of the year...
Happiness (1998)
A Masterpiece
Without trying to be overly verbose, this film has some unappealing subject matter. However, It is handled in a way that makes it feel very real. The cast is absolutely wonderful, the script first-rate and the direction is flawless. If you have not seen this film run to the video store to get it. BTW, the end gag is one of the funniest in screen history, albiet a bit gross.
All About 'The Birds' (2000)
somewhat interesting documentary
This doc appears in the bonus materials section of the Birds DVD and provides quite a bit of insite into the making of the birds. The special effects for the day were cutting edge and it was interesting to note the relationships between the actors, the director and the birds. If you are a fan of the master, take an hour or so to view this.
Marnie (1964)
tippi hedron rules
At the time of its release, Marnie was considered a misfire for Hitchcock, but it actually has much to offer, especially for fans of Hitchcock. The main attraction for this film is without a doubt the performance of Tippi Hedron. Tippi lights up the screen, lets face it the camera loves this women and you will too.
Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (2001)
fabulous Film
Amelie is simply a treat and one of the best movies to come out of French Cinema in the last 10 years. The performances are first rate as well as the script. I hope this film finds an American audience as too few of us understand the power of Foreign Cinema especially French Cinema.
