Raised by Wolves: Feeding (2022)
Things are just happening
There is no story just random events that happen.
It's like Lost, they write it on-the-fly, no cohesion between the parts. I think writers just got some "funny material" and consumed it in one batch. Then wrote down the whole chaos they saw.
OMG, it's painful to see this. I crave for closure, that's why I didn't cancel it yet. But I will after the end of this season. How much money and production time was invested into this pile of ...
Britannia: Vae Victis (2021)
A twist after a twist after a twist..
Never kill your main enemy when you have the chance - just for continuing the neverending story..
It's a shame because the characters, actors, design, makeup are all great, just the story line is dumb. It's like Lost (the series): there is always "something big" but it has no roots, it leads nowhere, it never ends, it never has a closure, just to stick you to the screen.
If anything happens, then there is always an evil laugh, that "yes this was always the plan, hahha". Very cheap.
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021)
Abysmal
Salma Hayek shouts and kills and it should be somehow funny. But it's not.
The first movie was an "OK" 6/10 piece, good for a boring afternoon.
This one hurts you. The script is extremely dumb, it insults your intellect with its giant plotholes. The characters are constantly shouting to each other, between Salma's several massacres.
If you chose watching the paint on a drying wall, you chose wisely.
Solos: Peg (2021)
Fake and cheap
I don't know if it's the writing or the acting, but it just felt fake. They wanted to grab and squize our tear bags. It's sentimental, but not in the good way. It's cheesy, packed with emotionaly "effective" items. It's built - not written.
And the song at the end... just cheap.
SEAL Team: All In (2021)
A TV show can not do big changes
Seal Team is a great TV show and you can see real struggles of Bravo Team.
But these struggles that could cause a member leaving the team and start over could never fulfill because then lead actors should leave. And this is a TV show with constant characters.
So it becames a soap opera that scares you always that a member is leaving, but then he will always come back.
Jason should had stop operating for a long time and he makes these hard decisions after nice character development, but then writers make a full 180 turn and bring him back to start point. Always. "I want to be Bravo 1". It makes all his changes and revelations worthless and phony.
This is the tragedy of these kind of TV shows - they always run in circles, you can not get real catharsis.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Plot: Michael cries
I can not bear this anymore. It's terrible. The continous overacting, whining and Michael who is always the martyr. Where are the moral dilemmas the discovery of the galaxy? Why? Why? Just lazy writing or is this the new trend?
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Great actors, terrible story, abysmal music
I gave 4/10 only because the actors saved what they could.
It starts like an '80s comedy with the annoying, sweet, playful music, then the action scene with fast cuts, terrible shot angle changes - you couldn't see what is happening... then the winks with the child..., OMG this was more terrible when I remember back.
They brought back Steve - almost invalidated his sacrifise in the first movie... why?? Because the test audience loved him in the first so you they had to put him back..?
The dialogs were so painfully dumb... I felt the suffer of the actors when they had to say these disaster lines. "So many things... so, so many things". Ahhhhh, kill me....
Patty Jenkins should stay as director like in the first episode - which was great - and don't interfere with writing.
The action scenes were unrealistic, they were like a flipper game - everything was bouncing, no weight... the CGI and physics were just very bad. Any finally, where is the lead WW music theme? Or any good tune? The bad music gave the final struck.
I have to praise the actors again, because they were great, even despite the dumb dialogs. You could steel feel the attraction and the fine respect between Diana and Steve. Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig also did the best they could.
This movie was a big opportunity and a wasted attempt.
War of the Worlds (2019)
Terrible. It's OK if there is no action, but there is nothing else either
I like good scifi what you can think about even without action, BUT... this was terrible. I understand CGI is very expensive and empty, slow dialogs are cheaper, but this was just pain to watch (even though I'm european). The emotional scenes were sloppy and meaningless and I felt they are just excuse to fill out the time (without costy CGI). The script in nutshell:
- Dead people are lying on the floor.
- Robot dog kills children
- "I don't know."
- "I don't know."
- French soliders are walking in the woods
- Somebody is hit on the neck, bulletproof west doesn't work, it just looks cool
- Robot dog walks, it's very loud
- "It's my fault!"
- Dead people are lying on the floor.
- "I don't know."
- French soliders are walking in the woods
- Robot dog walks, it's very loud
- Somebody is watching through a rifle's optics
- Dead people are lying on the floor.
- Somebody is hit on the neck
- Somebody is watching through a rifle's optics
- Robot dog walks, it's very loud
- Somebody is watching through a rifle's optics
- French soliders are walking in the woods
- "I don't know."
- bulletproof west doesn't work
- "I have to go."
- "Don't go!"
- THE END
Titans: E.L._.O. (2019)
Significant relapse in writing
After energic and unique first season the second gives us lazy writing.
Whining, whining, "it's all my faaaault :'(", "why don' you trust me?", "I have to go alone"... all the shameful cliches.
I mean I understand these are cheaper than action scenes or well written conversations, but come on...
I stick with the show till the end of the season, but if stays the same I'll drop it.
The Flash: There Will Be Blood (2019)
Emotional scenes substitude expensive action scenes
Whining, whining, whining.
I understand 42 minutes is a lot, but this is a disgrace now.
All the time we have to watch the sad face of the team. Then forced emotional conversation then again then again.
The destiny thing is very-very dumb, there is no weight of the situation.
Motto of the whole Arrowerse:
"This is aaall my fault! Bruhuhu.. :'("
