Confidence (2003)
as of May 1st, this is the BEST MOVIE of the YEAR!
Caution: you will only enjoy this (best movie of 2003!) if your intelligent enough to mentally chase (but will likely get left behind in) the seemingly endless possibilities of 'who's being scammed', mind-twisting storyline. If the fact that this movie's constant intriguement 'spy v. spy' style isn't enough for you - the acting is magnificent...EVERYONE plays their part to perfection, led by Burns & Hoffman, and Rachel Weisz is as alluring and tantalizingly sexy as ever!
If you like intelligent, well-acted movies that challenge your intellect, then you cannot possibly be disappointed by this....the BEST MOVIE of the YEAR!
(Note: the plot, on paper, is incredibly boringly predictable - don't be fooled by this point, .... see this movie!)
About Schmidt (2002)
Alexander Payne (blechh!)
Jack Nicholson was his usual brilliant self (unlike other overrated American actors...i.e., Al Pacino).
But, I wish I had taken a moment to read that this movie was directed by the collosally inept Alexander Payne (who also directed 'Election', another horriddly-ending movie, [that couldn't be salvaged by brilliant actors like Matthew Broderick, Reese Witherspoon, as well as others]).
EVEN the great Jack could not compensate for Payne staggering inability to tell a simple story. These are major motion pictures we're talking about, FCOL (for cryin' out loud)! If you can't write at least a semi-poignant ending, GET OUT OF THE BUSINESS! (for the audiences'sake).
I give About Schmidt 2 stars (out of 4), and that's generous.
Raising Dad (2001)
Don't cancel my favorite show! (Idiots)
I can't believe they're cancelling such a great show like "Raising Dad", and leaving crap on, like "Reba"... morons. What's a witty, clever, quick, funny, and upbeat show to do?
If a network exec is reading this... get a clue, and pick up this show... what ever you have to do, get it. It would be a definite hit on a major network. Please, someone, save my show!
