Storyline: Strand leads a convoy of rangers to escort Dakota to a safe house. Dakota asks Strand when he's planning to rebel against Virginia and points out that Virginia is in a vulnerable position. Strand feigns ignorance of any insurgent plots.

The convoy encounters dead bodies on the road. Strand and Samuels ride ahead to investigate.

Strand and Samuels discover a tree blocking the road. Riderless horses from the convoy gallop toward them. They race back to the convoy and find the rangers dead. Dakota is gone. They gun down the rangers as they turn.

Alicia and Charlie man a remote watch tower. Strand repeatedly radios Alicia but she refuses to answer, still upset by Strand's parting words at the molasses plant. Charlie convinces Alicia to respond. Strand asks to meet Alicia in person.

Strand meets Alicia and Charlie on the road and asks Alicia to find Dakota, since Dakota looks up to her. He says that if he delivers Dakota safely, he will be well-situated to mount a rebellion against Virginia. Alicia agrees.

Alicia and Charlie track Dakota through the woods. Alicia reveals that she wants to ally with the group that attacked the convoy and Tank Town. They kill some walkers and notice grotesque stitching on the bodies. They spot a hunting lodge in the distance. Alicia tells Charlie to stay behind while she goes inside to look for Dakota.

Alicia enters the lodge and finds a man performing taxidermy work on a walker. The man finds Alicia and injects her with a tranquilizer.

Alicia wakes up strapped to the man's workshop table. She cuts her bonds and tries to escape. Dakota and the man, Ed, enter the room. Dakota says that Ed helped her in the woods and explains that she did not see who attacked the convoy.

Ed plays chess with Dakota and says that his wife and daughter are dead. Dakota mentions that Virginia killed her parents. Alicia suggests they leave but Dakota refuses to go anywhere. Alicia goes to get a blanket and finds Charlie hiding in the hallway. Charlie says that Ed boarded up the house after he found Alicia. Alicia tells Charlie to stay hidden.

Ed and Dakota find Alicia searching for a weapon in Ed's workshop. Alicia demands to know why he locked up the house. Ed insists he's just trying to keep Dakota safe. Alicia reveals that Dakota is Virginia's sister and that Virginia will come looking for her. Ed agrees to let them leave at dawn. Alicia privately tells Dakota that Ed probably attacked the convoy and plans to kill them. She agrees to find a place where Dakota can escape Virginia.

Alicia secretly radios Virginia and informs her that she found Dakota after the convoy was attacked. She offers to deliver Dakota to the safe house on the condition that Virginia release her and Charlie. Virginia agrees.

Ed blares music to attract a herd to the lodge and make it a safe haven for Alicia and Dakota. He explains that Virginia's rangers killed his family while he was on a supply run and that he created the walker monsters to scare people away. He leads them upstairs at gunpoint.

Alicia and Dakota wait in a locked bedroom. Charlie unlocks the door and says that she stole the keys after tranquilizing Ed.

Alicia, Dakota and Charlie turn off the music. The herd begins to dissipate. Ed wakes up and accuses Alicia of secretly contacting Virginia. Alicia fights Ed and he gets impaled by an antler. The herd hears the commotion and returns to the lodge.

Alicia tries to help Ed. He urges them to flee and implores Alicia to abandon whatever deal she had made with Virginia. He admits that Virginia didn't kill his family. Instead, they were killed when one of his walker creations got loose in the house.

The walkers break down the door. Dakota and Alicia watch in horror as Ed offers himself up to the walkers.

Charlie pries wood off a boarded window as walkers flood into the house. The walkers hear a noise outside and follow it. Morgan appears and helps Alicia slay the walkers. Alicia hugs Morgan.

Morgan invites Alicia, Charlie and Dakota to join him at a community that he's been building. He says that Al and Dwight are already there.

Alicia admits to Charlie that she made a deal with Virginia to deliver Dakota in exchange for their freedom. She reveals her plan to take Charlie back to the stadium. Charlie refuses to turn Dakota in to Virginia.

Alicia asks Morgan if Dakota can join his community, then realizes that Morgan attacked the convoy in order to use Dakota as leverage. Morgan insists there's no other way to save their friends from Virginia but changes his mind when Alicia starts to walk out. He invites Dakota to join his community.

Strand finds Alicia's group at the lodge and tells Alicia he's taking Dakota back to Lawton. Alicia and Morgan declare that Dakota is coming with them. Morgan invites Strand to join them but Strand warns that Virginia will pursue them for the rest of their lives. Everyone draws their weapons. Strand stands down but says he'll no longer be able to protect Alicia.

Back in Lawton, Strand tells Virginia that Dakota is with Alicia, Charlie and Morgan. He declares allegiance to Virginia.

Virginia takes Strand to a secret room. Grace sits on a bed, still pregnant. Virginia tells Strand that she wants to hunt down everyone from his group.

Storyline: Virginia and her posse chase a woman through the woods. The woman trips and falls. Hill finds spray paint in the woman's backpack and points to a message spray-painted on a nearby tree, "The End is the Beginning". Virginia orders the woman to explain what the message means. The woman realizes that Virginia is scared of the group responsible for the messages. Virginia tells Hill to take the woman to Lawton for interrogation. The woman grabs a gun and shoots herself in the head.

June rushes a patient into Sarah's truck, which has been transformed into a mobile medical unit, and enlists Sarah to help her surgically remove the patient's infected appendix. The patient dies during surgery and turns, then attacks June. Sarah stabs it in the head.

June buries the patient on the side of the road and says they're stretched too thin to reach patients in time. She says that she approached Virginia about building a hospital, but Virginia rejected her proposal. John radios June to report that he's in route to rendezvous with them.

June rides with John while Sarah follows in the truck. John proposes that he and June run away to the cabin that Janis told him about. Without going into detail, he says that he needs to get as far away from Virginia as possible. June worries that Virginia would hunt them down. They're interrupted by an urgent call from Lucy on the walkie, requesting medical help at the oil quarry. John proposes they leave for the cabin after they're finished helping at the quarry.

June and John arrive outside the quarry and find burned and bloody workers staggering out of the entrance. Lucy explains that an oil well exploded and that people are still trapped in the quarry. Virginia arrives and orders her men to interrogate survivors about the explosion. June privately tells John she'll run away with him after they leave the quarry.

June, Lucy and Sarah enter the quarry. Virginia sees a spray-painted message, "The End is the Beginning", and refuses to let anyone leave until she finds out who was responsible. June argues that they need to evacuate all the victims to give them medical attention.

June finds Wes with a grave stomach wound and tries to stop the bleeding. A walker attacks June. Virginia shoots the walker and finds nails taped to the walker's fingers. She vows to find out who put the nails on the walker's fingers.

Virginia tells June that she's wasting resources by treating a patient who is probably mortally wounded. June ignores Virginia. Wes screams in pain. June asks Lucy to get sedatives. Virginia refuses to let June sedate him until he's interrogated. June says Wes might die if they don't move him to the truck. Virginia insists on questioning him and reveals that Hill and Marcus found spray paint in Wes' bunk.

Virginia asks Wes how long he's been with the rebel group. Wes insists he only uses the spray paint for art and does not know what she's talking about. Virginia shoves her finger in his wound. Wes screams but still maintains that he knows nothing. June injects Wes with sedatives, angering Virginia.

June opens the truck and finds that a number of the quarry victims have already died, turned and eaten other patients. Lucy loads Wes onto the truck and leaves the quarry as June and Virginia kill the walkers. Virginia ushers June inside a building as a well explodes.

Virginia wakes up and finds a walker on top of her. The walker bites Virginia as she fights it off.

Someone radios Virginia and says they're trying to get back into the quarry. Virginia spots an axe and douses alcohol on her wound to amputate her hand. June grabs the axe before Virginia can get it. Virginia asks June to chop off her hand to prevent the infection from spreading, but June refuses. Virginia tackles June. June holds the axe to Virginia's neck and keeps it there as she radios Lucy with instructions to remove shrapnel from Wes' stomach. Virginia tells June that she's just trying to protect everyone from a dangerous group of rebels, then asks what June wants from her. Virginia insists that everything she does is for Dakota. June hacks off Virginia's hand.

Virginia wakes up and finds her amputated arm cauterized with hot metal. June tells Virginia that there is something she wants in exchange for helping Virginia. John digs through the rubble and rescues them.

Virginia rests in a car and asks Hill to radio Dakota so that she can hear Dakota's voice.

Wes wakes up in the truck. Lucy and Sarah ask June why she saved Virginia's life. June says that Virginia agreed to give her a hospital and that she also agreed to assign Wendell to the hospital. Wendell arrives in a car and reunites with Sarah.

John tells June that he's ready to leave for the cabin. June reveals that Virginia is giving her a hospital and that she no longer wants to run. John pleads with June and says that he can't stay. June insists that Virginia can change and that she's actually trying to protect them all from a rebel group. John tells June that Virginia is duping her.

June and Sarah ride in the truck as John follows in his car. The truck veers left, toward Lawton. John veers right, toward the cabin.

6x5 Rating: 9.2/10 very good

Storyline: Sherry is lying on and looking over the letters Dwight collected, and is soon joined by her husband, who prepared scrambled eggs for her. He jokes that even the bubonic plague couldn't keep them apart. They start making out, when Dwight notices the letters Sherry took out. Sherry says that she can't remember many of the places in the letters, and Dwight adds that her letters kept him going, even if they were one-sided. He observes the first one, where Sherry claimed Dwight was no longer the man she fell in love with and how she was sorry for this. He tells Sherry that he always kept this in mind in order to be the man Sherry once loved when he met her again, so she wouldn't need to be sorry about anything, and claims that this is why he kept all of the letters. They start making out again, but are interrupted by Hill, who radios Dwight via his walkie and asks why he and Al missed the check-in. Dwight lies that they ran into a herd, an excuse which Hill accepts but demands that they head back immediately, as per Ginny's request. Dwight says that they wanted to check out some off-map spots, and that it will be worth it. Hill gives them 48 hours to do so. Dwight supposes Al, who was supposed to cover for him, must have gone out of range. Sherry asks if they should look for her, but he says he will go in the morning and doesn't want her mixed up in his mess. Sherry points out she already is, until they can figure out how to get out of it. Dwight reveals his plan of faking his death and running away together, but Sherry asserts that she can't run away, before heading to the kitchen to fetch a fork. Dwight waits for her when he hears something clink on the floor and a door creek. Dwight arms himself with his hatchet and slowly approaches the now-open back door. When he pulls back the curtain, he is startled by a masked individual. Dwight turns around to run, but is confronted by two more masked survivors and held at gunpoint, before a bag is put over his head.

Dwight wakes tied up inside an empty swimming pool with one of the masked members standing guard over him. He yells for Sherry, before charging the masked man, breaking free of his restraints, and holds the man at gunpoint, demanding to know where his wife is. Soon enough, more members surround the pool and hold Dwight at gunpoint in turn. Before the situation can escalate further, Sherry arrives to calm Dwight down, revealing herself to be a member of the mysterious group. Dwight is understandably confused, Sherry explains that the group is made up of outcasts that Virginia didn't think were good enough to join the Pioneers. Dwight asks why Sherry didn't tell him about the group, but she replies that she didn't believe Dwight wanted to be a part of their effort, which is to bring Virginia down. Dwight realizes that this is the reason Sherry didn't want to run away, and she confirms, since not all of them could get away. The man Dwight tackled, Oswald, demands Dwight tells him where Virginia will be next. The latter doesn't know, but Oswald doesn't believe him and holds him at gunpoint. Another member shows one of their video tapes, implicating Dwight as a member of the Pioneers. The group also reveals they have captured Althea. Ozzie threatens to have Althea killed if Dwight doesn't cooperate, and starts to count down from five. He is, however, stopped by Rollie, who is revealed to have joined the Outcasts after the demise of his group. Oswald protests that Dwight works for Ginny, but Rollie points out that he did too at one point, and orders Althea to be released. Rollie invites them to join him, as they're preparing to head out. The group arms up, with Rollie and Oswald revealing they plan on ambushing and destroying the S. W. A. T. van. Al warns them against this, as the van is designed to withstand explosives. Instead, she suggests they steal the van, which they agree to.

Dwight, Sherry, Al and the outcasts wait for the S. W. A. T. van near the road. The S. W. A. T. van rolls by, en route to Lawton after a refueling. The outcasts chase the van on horseback. Dwight hops onto the moving van and sneaks inside. He kicks the driver out of the van and gains control of the steering wheel. Dwight and the outcasts start searching for the driver. Morgan shows up on horseback with the captured driver in tow. Morgan, Al and Dwight catch up with each other. Morgan explains that Virginia shot him and left him for dead at the gulch, but that someone saved him. Morgan tells everyone that he's building a community where Virginia won't find them and invites them all to join him. Sherry says that her group is intent on killing Virginia. Morgan warns that it's too early to strike against Virginia and that any botched attempts would endanger the lives of loved ones who still work for Virginia. Dwight asks Sherry to delay the attack on Virginia and instead join him in Morgan's community. Sherry refuses to abandon the mission to kill Virginia. Dwight interrogates the S. W. A. T. driver and demands to know Virginia's whereabouts. He punches the prisoner and threatens to unleash the guard dog. Morgan puts an end to the interrogation. Morgan pulls Dwight aside and begs him to delay the attack on Virginia. Dwight refuses to back off from his plan and points out that the last time they followed Morgan's advice, they all got captured at the gulch. Sherry suggests that Dwight lure Virginia out to them. Dwight checks in with Hill via walkie and says he found a location with over 100 living people. Hill tells Dwight they'll arrive by nightfall. Dwight shows Sherry how to operate the gun in the S. W. A. T. van. Sherry observes that Dwight's dark side is reemerging and suggests he sit out the ambush. Dwight instead vows to kill Virginia himself.

Morgan and Al plot to steal the S. W. A. T. van from the outcasts to sabotage their plan. Dwight and the outcasts catch Morgan and Al in the act. Dwight locks up Morgan and Al. Sherry tells the outcasts to lock up Dwight, too, so that he can sit out the ambush. Sherry and Rollie park the S. W. A. T. van near the meeting spot with Virginia. An outcast radios Rollie to report that Virginia's caravan is ten minutes away. Dwight admits to Al and Morgan that they were right about delaying the attack on Virginia. He starts cutting the ties around his wrists and vows to stop the outcasts from ambushing Virginia. Rollie radios Sherry to alert her that Virginia's crew has arrived. Sherry reaches for the gun lever. Dwight escapes and jumps into the S. W. A. T. van with Sherry. Rollie alerts Sherry that Hill came without Virginia. Hill radios Dwight and Al to ask where they are. No one answers. Rollie tells Sherry to gun down Hill's crew. Dwight warns Sherry that Virginia will probably kill their loved ones. After receiving no response from Dwight or Al, Hill and his crew get back in their cars and drive away. Sherry lets them go but screams at Dwight for changing her mind. Dwight tries to console Sherry. Sherry explains that she wants to kill Virginia because of all the missed opportunities she had to kill Negan. She tells Dwight to leave her. Dwight releases the guard dog back into the wild. Morgan urges Dwight to join his community. He insists that they eventually plan to take down Virginia. To fake their deaths, Dwight and Al dress two walkers in their clothing and set them loose for rangers to find. Dwight, Al and Morgan return to a truck where survivors from the office building have been hiding out. The group starts traveling to Morgan's community by foot. Dwight draws a symbol on the truck for Sherry, with an arrow pointing her to the path they are taking.

Warning: Spoilers
6x4 Rating: 8.9/10

Storyline: John Dorie wakes up and writes a letter to June, in which he talks about his father and his experiences in Lawton, particularly his role as a law enforcer. He admits that he was hesitant to take up the mantle again at first, but has settled into his profession. He adds that he is starting to come around to the Pioneer's way of life. He then brushes his teeth and makes himself a cup of coffee. However, it is evident that he is suffering from tooth cavities. He then puts the letter in his laundry bag and heads out, swapping his usual black hat for a ranger one. He picks up his guns at the gunsmith's shop, and then relieves Cameron from his guard duties. At the end of his shift, he drops his laundry off with Janis, turns in his guns, and heads home. He repeats the routine the next day, this time picking his laundry up on his way from work. Once home, he opens the bag to find a letter from June, and immediately reads it. The next day, John finds Cameron missing from his post. He and a couple of rangers go to his house, but receive no reply upon knocking. While the rangers keep trying the door, John searches the back yard and quickly spots Cameron's corpse being devoured by a couple of walkers. He kills them, as well as the newly reanimated Cameron.

Morgan inspects an abandoned trailer and searches a box, in which he finds Grace's jumper along with a letter from Daniel, explaining that he found it in one of the Pioneers' vehicles. Getting back in his truck, Morgan lets Rufus sniff the jumper, wondering about the mechanics of it all. He decides he needs to go back to the Gulch, this being the last place he saw Grace. Morgan wonders out loud if Grace is even going to recognize him, before driving off.

Come nighttime, John has secured the scene of Cameron's death, and stops a couple of rangers from removing his corpse. Virginia, however, overrules him, not wanting to rile people up. She also believes it to have been an accident, since she is familiar with Cameron's drinking habits. John thinks the death warrants investigation, but Virginia brushes it off, although she comments John for his diligence. Not satisfied, John inspects the scene after everyone leaves, and finds and earring glistening in the dirt. Back on the street, Strand drives up and greets John with a hug. Happy to see his friend, John notices Victor's golden key. He then asks the reason for Victor's visit, to which Victor replies that he is going to an inter-settlement council meeting. John informs him of Cameron's death, and also that he doubts that it was an accident. Victor asks if there is anything he can do, but John says that he doesn't need his help for now, but will notify him if that changes.

In the morning, John goes to visit Janis, who seems to be rather nervous. John wishes to talk about Cameron, since he supposed the two were close, although Janis claims she just washed his clothes. John then asks about the earring, which Janis immediately denies is hers. John, however, assures her that he is only asking because he thought she might know, due to the fact that she washes everybody's clothes. Janis apologizes, but still doesn't recognize the earring. She then asks what's going on, to which John says he doesn't know yet, but cautions her to be careful, as she is the closest thing to family he has in Lawton. John then goes to visit Virginia and tells her that he doesn't believe the death was an accident, as the fence is too far from the house and it didn't seem like Cameron was drinking, since the bottle of moonshine he had in his house was full. When Virginia asks who could have pushed Cameron into the fence, John presents the earring he found, deducing that it belongs to the killer. Virginia recounts how, in the first settlement she lived in, a man murdered his friend over a can of tuna. To make an example, the town elders tied the murderer to a stake outside the walls and left him over night with loud music blasting from speakers next to him. Predictably, by morning he was completely devoured by the dead. Virginia asserts that she doesn't want this for Lawton, which John agrees with, but still wants to investigate the death. Virginia allows this, but asks John to keep it quiet, as the people are only as safe as they believe to be. John agrees that making people feel like they're safe is good, but thinks actually keeping them safe is better. Virginia concedes to this, and promises to double the patrols until they can figure it out.

Jacob holds a funeral for Cameron. After the ceremony, John gives Dakota a coffee sweetener, which he can't consume until he gets his cavities treated. He asks her if she knew Cameron, and she confirms, saying that Cameron was always on the ranger detail when they'd travel outside the walls. Before she can answer and further questions, she is cut off by Virginia, who asks her sister to go home. The conversation is interrupted by the shouts of a ranger. When John and the others arrive to the scene, they find Janis being detained and held at gunpoint by Marcus and some other rangers. Marcus explains that they caught Janis trying to sneak out of the settlement. Virginia orders Hill to check Janis' bag. When he empties it, Virginia rummages through the contents and discovers a matching earring to the one John found earlier.

As he slams her cell shut, John is upset that Janis lied to him. He then shows her Cameron's sketchbook, which has a drawing of her lying in bed. When Janis doesn't respond, John tells her that he can't help her if she won't talk to him. Janis doesn't believe he can help her either way, as Virginia has it out for her. She denies killing Cameron, but knows she will be blamed for it anyway. John claims that he can save Janis if he can prove otherwise, as Virginia won't want to make herself a liar in front of the people. He then asks about the earrings, but Janis once again denies that they're hers, and thinks Virginia planted them. John accepts this answer, but asks her to be honest about her relationship with Cameron. She admits that the two were romantically involved, albeit secretly out of fear of Ginny splitting them up. She also reveals the two were stockpiling supplies in preparation of running away together, and that she tried to escape earlier because she didn't want to live in Lawton without him. She further elaborates on the relationship, but before the conversation can continue, Marcus informs John that Ginny wants to see him.

Ginny offers John a strawberry jam sandwich, but he is unable to eat in due to his cavities. She congratulates John on a job well done, as they might have never caught Janis if she didn't take his advice and doubled the patrols. John, however, says that Janis denies the earrings are hers. Ginny is unconvinced, reminding John that Janis tried to run during Cameron's funeral. He acknowledges how it looks, but wishes to investigate further, as he didn't even get to inspect the body. Virginia is unmoved, and hypothesizes that John has a personal interest in seeing Janis go free. She reveals that, thanks to Cameron, she knows about the letters John smuggled to June via Janis, and has read every single one of them. Ginny tells him not to worry, however, as the letters prove he is devoted to the Pioneer way of life. Switching topics, John asks what will happen to Janis, but Ginny simply replies that an example will need to be made. She urges John to go home and get some rest, and thinks his father would be proud of the work John has done. Outside, John is greeted by Dakota, who asks if John was a police officer and if he ever killed anyone. John confirms both facts, although he adds the latter was by accident. Dakota tells him not to listen to her sister, as she believes Ginny is protecting someone. Their conversation is interrupted by Virginia, who orders Dakota to get back into the house.

Tossing and turning in his bed, John finds himself unable to sleep. After a while, he gets up and goes to the graveyard, where he digs up Cameron's body in order to inspect it. Whilst doing so, he notices a slash across Cameron's throat. Just then, he is attacked by two walkers, who fall into the grave on top of him. Fortunately, manages to kill both with a shovel. Looking over the bodies, he also finds a shard stuck in Cameron's hand. In the morning, John takes Victor to Cameron's grave to show him his findings. Regrettably, Cameron's throat was chewed up by the walkers while they were attacking John, destroying the evidence. John, however, also shows the shard he found in Cameron's hand, which he believes is a broken off piece from a knife handle. John asserts that Janis couldn't have gotten a knife from the armory without them knowing about it. He then asks Victor if he has access to the armory.

In the aforementioned armory, John searches the drawers, and finds a knife missing. He lists through the weapons catalogue and discovers the missing knife that matches his description of the murder weapon, but when he checks the log for the person that took the knife, he finds the page torn out. Victor doesn't find any of this surprising, and cautions John that someone doesn't want him to find anything, but the latter remains undeterred. John wishes to search for the knife, believing that if he finds it, Virginia will have no choice but to commute Janis' sentence. Victor advises John to take some time off to think about his course of action, warning him that he won't be able to go back if he persists in his investigation.

John goes to visit Janis and updates her on the investigation, but the latter wishes him to stop. Just then, Ginny, Victor, and Hill walk in. Ginny is surprised to see John, but Victor pretends he asked him to be there, as a witness to Janis' confession. Much to John's dismay, Janis confesses to murdering Cameron. John tries to plead for a lighter sentence, but in vain.

The couple weve been waiting for
29 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
6x3 Rating: 8.9/10

Storyline: Morgan plays with his namesake in her new crib. Rachel notices the bags of food that Morgan has brought and thanks him for it. Upon further inspection, however, she gets suspicious, and asks where Morgan had gotten the supplies. Morgan reveals that he has a friend inside one of Virginia's settlements. As he prepares to had out, Rachel asks if he wants to hold her baby, but Morgan declines, as he claimed his arm has healed sufficiently. Rachel says that it will be nice when her daughter gets a playmate, which Morgan agrees with, before heading out. Rachel rushes after him, wondering where he is going. Morgan laments how people didn't change much before the outbreak, even when they wanted to. He claims, however, that he has been "sixteen different somebodies since it all ended". Morgan is determined to find Grace and the others and bring them back, but is scared that he won't be the man they know. Rachel acknowledges that Morgan might have changed, but is certain he'll still be the man his group knew. Morgan then goes to a workbench and combines his staff and Emile's axe to create a new weapon, with which he immediately starts practicing.

Elsewhere, Althea and Dwight break into a funeral home and clear out the walkers, all while filming. Al then recites the time and place of their encounter to the camera, while Dwight loots a wallet off a dead walker and tosses it to Al. She checks the driver's license, but throws it away, as she already has several from Arizona. A walker then approaches, which Dwight believes could be from Alaska, one of the most coveted states for their driver's license-collecting game. After killing it, he is disappointed to discover the man is from Montana. Al notices there are 15 sleeping bags, which is more then the number of walkers they killed. Dwight goes to check upstairs, while Al heads to the basement. She explores the processing room, before a voice sounds from a walkie. Al searches for a notepad to record the conversation. A female voice asks the other person if they copy. Al tells the voice that she copies, without pressing the push-to-talk button, revealing the female voice to be Isabelle. She fails to notice a figure creeping up on her until it is too late. As Al scrambles to find her weapon, she is grabbed by a remarkably well-preserved walker, who seems to have trouble opening its mouth. Dwight comes to Al's rescue before she can be bitten and kills the walker. Dwight asks if the walker just turned, but Al smells formaldehyde, and concludes that someone embalmed the walker. Dwight radios their dispatch to let them know the status of the funeral home, but the Pioneer on the other end prevents them from going home until they figure out what went wrong, so they can avoid the same fate. Al doesn't want to stay, and is disillusioned with their new profession all together. Dwight tries to look on the bright side, and says that at least they're not in one of the settlements. He then shows Al a crate of beer he found.

They crack open their beers in the back yard, and are both disgusted by how stale it is. Dwight asks if Al thinks about "beer lady", a nickname for Isabelle she voices her disapproval of. Dwight remembers how Sherry used to say bad beer goes down better with pretzels. The pair toast to their respective loved ones. The walkie then comes alive, but Dwight grabs it before Althea can. He interrogates all about the voices on the radio, before realizing it's "beer lady". After making sure Dwight's camera is off, Al confirms that it is, that she's been tracking the group's movements, and that she knows where Isabelle might be. Excited, Dwight asks why they're not heading there right now. Althea tries to make excuses, but Dwight insists that she could run off with Isabelle, but Althea points out Ginny would kill them if she did. To this, Dwight suggests Althea fake her own death by passing off a walker corpse as her own, this being his plan in case he ever found Sherry. Al doesn't think it fair to but that kind of burden on Dwight, but he reminds her she is talking to a guy who walked half way across the country because his wife left him a note. Al points out Dwight hasn't found her, but he jokes that if he knew where his wife might be, and Althea didn't push him to go, he'd kick her ass. Al finally agrees to search for "Drop Site Baker", where Isabelle might be.

Come nighttime, they arrive to the base of an office building, where they find a discombobulated walker. Dwight kills it and checks its wallet, finally finding an Alaskan driver's license, much to his glee. Inside the lobby, they spot the phrase "The end is the beginning" spray-painted on the wall. Further inside, they dispatch three walkers and discover a caged rat at the base of the stairwell. Before they can make sense of it, a walker comes crashing on top of the cage. Dwight kills it, and the pair begin their ascent. A few floors up, they find the stairway cut off by a group of walkers pushing against a flimsy barricade. They squeeze past them just as the barricade gives way into a doorway. Inside, however, they are held at gunpoint by two survivors. One of them, Nora, demands to know what they're doing in the building, and if they're with the group on the roof. They deny this, so Nora tells them that the people landing on the roof won't save them, revealing that one of her friends that went to check fell of the side of the building after being shot by them. Nora then asks about the cameras, before ordering her collogue, Lee, to lock the pair in the office.

Inside the office, Dwight angrily confronts Al about Isabelle, questioning if she was the one that shot the man from Alaska, but she doesn't know. Nora then walks in, and asks if they just go around and record settlements that failed. Dwight explains that they're doing it to stop these things from happening where they live. Nora asks them to turn on the cameras, as they need their help. In the cubicles, they find Nora's group to be gravely ill. Dwight tries to give water to one of them, but is dragged away by Althea. She reveals that the survivors are suffering from bubonic plague, and believes that it's too late for the survivors. She leads him to the other stairwell, as Nora chases after them. Althea blocks the door with an axe, and once again tells Dwight that Ginny isn't going to help the survivors, before heading upstairs. Dwight doesn't want to continue, and dubs the fact that Althea still wants to seek out Isabelle crazy. Al retorts that calling what they've been doing "living" is crazy, citing their game of seeing where dead people come from as an example. Al goes on to confess that the last time she felt alive was with Isabelle, and thinks a chance to feel that way again is worth the risk. Dwight accepts this reasoning and follows her up.

A few floors up, they are chased off the stairwell once more by walkers. Dwight loots the recently deceased walker for its wallet and finds a Tennessee license, before jokingly admitting that Al was right, and they need to stop doing that. He asks how Al thought of the game in the first place, so she reveals that she used to play a similar game with her brother, only with license plates and no dead people. Dwight then asks what Althea is planning on saying to Isabelle. Al doesn't know, as she's only known her for two days. She asks Dwight what he's going to say to Sherry, but he claims to have come to peace with the fact he will never see her again. Al reminds him of the things Ginny said, but Dwight thinks these were lies. Al also points out Dwight heard her voice on the walkie, but he claims this was simply due to a combination of dehydration, exhaustion, and desperation. Upon discovering the north stairwell is full of walkers as well, Al searches for another way up. She finds a bit of patched-over drywall and knocks a hole in it, revealing a maintenance shaft inside. The two climb the water pipes and duck into a shaft, where they hear Isabelle signal that she will be arriving to the roof in 30 minutes. Unfortunately, they find the shaft infested with rats, that could possibly be infected. With no other choice, they crawl through and bust through a dry wall at the other end. They find themselves in a room separated by another makeshift barricade from walkers that have died from the plague. They retreat as the walkers start to break through. As they seal themselves in a bathroom, Al discovers a pustule on Dwight's neck, revealing that he's infected with the plague.

With the walkers claw at the door, Al feels guilty for getting Dwight sick, but he doesn't blame her. Still, she is determined to find him help, but he insists on getting her to the roof first. Al thinks this out of the question, but Dwight tells her that, after all the stuff he went through to find Sherry, this is the least he can do for her. As they continue to argue, they hear gunshots outside. Nora busts into the room. The pair thank her for saving them. Nora scoffs and orders Al to call Virginia. Althea says that Virginia won't help them, but Nora isn't convinced. Dwight backs up Al's claims, but offers to go find a pharmacy and search for antibiotics. Nora reminds Althea that she's been exposed as well, but the latter brushes it off. They walk back to the barricade, behind which, Nora claims, is the exit to the roof. She also reveals that she worked in the building before the apocalypse and lived on the floor with the other survivors, but left with the others after people started dying. They only made it to the fifth floor, however, before more got sick. They successfully kill the walkers behind the barricade. Al and Dwight rush ahead, but stop when they see Nora mournfully observing a walker. She asks them not to record the walkers, as no one should remember her co-workers like this.

Warning: Spoilers
6x2 Rating: 8.8/10

Storyline: In the middle of the night, a group of workers is escorted to a warehouse at a sugar factory where 500 walkers wander around inside. A ranger, Jeb, tells them that this is their chance to redeem themselves in Virginia's eyes. He then bangs on the door separating them from the walkers they are tasked with killing, as a worker hands the rest their spears. One of the workers, Sanjay, drops his spear and attempts to walk away out of fear, but is forced back to his post at gunpoint by Jeb. A worker then proceeds to open the door to a room drenched in a sticky, viscous substance. Unfortunately, the door gets stuck, allowing the walkers to crawl under, grab the unfortunate door handler, and pull him to his doom. The other workers attempt to fight the dead, but fall one by one as the walkers pull them under the door. With only Sanjay left, Jeb commands him to close the door, but the former is paralyzed with fear. Begrudgingly, Jeb tries to close the door himself, but another surviving worker, Ridings, grabs ahold of his leg as she is being pulled under, begging him to save her. Jeb coldly executes her instead, but this doesn't release his leg from her grip, resulting in Jeb getting pulled under along with her corpse by the walkers. Grabbing onto the descending door, Jeb pleads for Sanjay to save him, but the latter is unable to, resulting in Jeb being pulled away by the walkers to be devoured as the door slams shut behind him.

The next morning in Lawton, Strand and Alicia are tasked with cleaning out the town's latrines. Right after they light the barrels of waste on fire, a couple of rangers drive up in Althea's MRAP. One of them, Marcus, demands that they move the barrels, as the wind is blowing the smell to the cafeteria. The pair refuse, prompting Marcus to threaten them. Despite this, Victor remains unintimidated, and even throws his waste bucket at Marcus' feet, provoking the ranger into holding him at gunpoint. A young girl from behind the fence yells at Marcus to leave Victor and Alicia alone. The ranger complies, but after Hill arrives to inquire, Victor and Alicia are taken into custody so Virginia can judge them.

As they're being escorted through Lawton, Alicia spots the girl from earlier and thanks her for saving them, but the latter tells her to think nothing of it, and introduces herself as Dakota before departing. The pair are brought before Virginia, who is receiving a haircut from Daniel. They try to greet their friend, but to their shock, he doesn't recognize them. Virginia explains that Daniel was hellbent on getting Skidmark back, and lost his memory in the resulting altercation. Virginia then reprimands Victor for assaulting a ranger, and decrees that they will be assigned to a job that better suits their talents, pulling Alicia's sharpened barrel shroud out of the drawer. She hands it over to Hill, and warns Victor to not squander another opportunity, before leaving. Alicia asks Victor what Virginia meant by that, but he claims to not know. Victor then tries to communicate with Daniel in Spanish to get him to drop the act, but his comrade still doesn't recognize him, but offers him a religious medallion to help him bare his burden, since Daniel senses that Strand lost someone.

On the road, Alicia asks if Victor really believes Daniel doesn't remember anything, but Victor notes that Daniel never flinched before, not even when shot by the former in the face. He looks around the S. W. A. T van and bitterly muses how he gave it to Virginia, but Alicia is certain she would have gotten it sooner or later. Upon their arrival to the sugar plant, Hill tells them to get out, as the two grow concerned over the sound of walkers. Alicia asks Hill what's behind the door besides the dead, but he nonchalantly tells her they will find out when they clear it. Victor presses for more info, but Hill simply tells them that whatever is behind the door is the key to the future Virginia is trying to build and, if they survive, they will get to be a part of that future. One of the workers tries to make a run for it past them, but is quickly gunned down by a ranger. When Hill hands Alicia her weapon. She protests that they need more efficient weapons to clear that many walkers, so Hill says he will send a truck with supplies. Victor wonders why they can't just use the MRAP to clear the plant, but Hill says that would destroy what Virginia wants to obtain. He then leaves them to their mission. Alicia notes that the Pioneers don't trust them, but Victor points out it's with good reason. As Strand and Alicia inspect the gate, they are reunited with Charlie, who reveals that she's being punished for trying to run away. They are also joined by Janis. When asked who's in charge, Janis replies that the rangers are, but they keep their distance after what happened to the night team. She also reveals that there are 9 rangers guarding them. Victor then inquires about the trustworthiness of the other prisoners, before putting forth his plan: killing the rangers and escaping.

While cleaning the floor, Sanjay explains to Victor that one of the molasses tanks burst, and that the walkers are covered in it, so when they grab you, it's nearly impossible to break free. He also reveals that this is how the night team died. When questioned about how he made it out, Sanjay says that he stayed back, although he admits he could have done more to help. Sanjay also expresses his admiration of Victor for standing up to Marcus. Victor and Alicia are then summoned by two rangers to pick up their delivery. The promised supply truck is loaded with spears. Alicia doesn't believe their plan will work. Victor protests that they outnumber the rangers three to one, but Alicia points out the rangers have guns. Despite this Victor is adamant that this is their only move, but Alicia senses that Victor is doing this for some other reason. Victor asserts that they've been listening to other people for long enough, and that it's time they start making the calls themselves. Just then, Charlie discovers Dakota hiding in the back of the truck. She pleads with them not to alert her to the rangers, as she heard their conversation, and knows what Virginia will do if they try to kill them. When asked how she knows this, she reveals that she is Virginia's sister.

Continuing their conversation in a tent, Dakota explains that others have tried to escape before, and that Virginia will either hunt them down or, if she can't find them, kill the people they love. Victor realizes that Virginia is going to come looking for her sister, and Dakota acknowledges this, but claims that she wanted to get away from her sister and find people that could help her do that. She picked them since she saw the tapes they left. Victor asks how they're supposed to help her escape if they can't. Dakota claims that there is a weapon in the warehouse they're supposed to clear, and Virginia wants to use it against someone she's been trying to kill. Dakota doesn't know anything more about the weapon, but believes that they can use it against Virginia if they recover it. Strand asks why they should believe her, to which Dakota replies that she hears everything that goes on in Virginia's house since she lives with her. As an example, she cites the deal Strand made with Virginia. Puzzled, Alicia asks Victor about this deal, before angrily storming off. He rushes after her, and explains that he gave her the S. W. A. T van so Ginny wouldn't separate them. Alicia protests that she can take care of herself, but Strand admits that he did it for himself, since he needs her to survive "the way it should be done". When asked to elaborate, he recounts how Daniel told him to remember who he was, and that being with her helps him do that. Alicia smiles at that, but goes on to state that they shouldn't go through with their plan, dubbing it too risky, and thinks they should get the weapon instead. Victor thinks that could get them killed, but Alicia points out his way could as well. She reminds him of what he said about making their own decisions, and thinks they should make this one. Victor reluctantly accepts her plan.

They construct a makeshift corridor to corral the walkers. After Janis reassures him the structure is sound, he asks Sanjay if he is sure he is ready, but Sanjay claims he wants to escape as much as they do. Before they start, Victor asks Alicia if she is having second thoughts, but she is certain the plan will work. With that, they get into position, as Sanjay raises the door and the walkers come pouring out. At the end of the corridor, the workers quickly dispatch the approaching walkers and drag them away. As the walkers begin to pile up, however, the structure begins to give way. Victor orders Sanjay to close the door, but the latter is nowhere to be found. Strand instructs Charlie to close the corridor gate instead, while Janis and some others rush to reinforce the corridor wall. In the commotion, Charlie is grabbed by the walkers and pulled in. Although the other are able to kill most of the walkers attacking her, Charlie is unable to free herself due to the molasses. Just as a walker is about to bite her, Dakota saves Charlie in the nick of time by killing it. The workers are able to close the gate, and Charlie thanks Dakota for saving her. Just then, two rangers arrive and discover Dakota. They alert Hill to her location, and order the workers to drop their weapons. Victor and the others comply after some hesitation. As the rangers try to apprehend Dakota, Janis yells that the barricade they're holding up is about to break. Alicia quietly tells Victor they need to finish this, and he agrees, ordering the others to pick up their weapons and Janis and her group to let go of the barricade. The walkers come tumbling out, as the rangers radio their colleagues to prepare for evacuation.

Storyline: The sun is beating down on a beach as a walker is approaching a man who is spray painting the words "THE END" on a red wall.

Later at night, Emile sits at a campsite where he hears someone near him. A man stumbles up, saying he has been pursued for days. Emile offers the man food and asks for his name, which he says is Walter. Emile talks about how humans and beans have been tied together since the beginning. Walter asks what's in them, so Emile leans in close and says it's a family secret. A barking dog startles Walter. Emile praises the dog, Rufus, and Walter looks scared. He asks how he knows the dog's name to which Emile replies that it is his dog. He then proceeds to decapitate Walter, and he leans down to reveal to his recent kill that the secret ingredient was tabasco. Later, Emile puts Walter's head in a box. He then gets a call from Virginia who needs his help tracking down Morgan Jones, but she doesn't know if he's dead or alive. She promises him all the gas he needs if he gets the job done. Emile pledges to find Morgan, sets the basket with Walter's head in his truck, and prepares a box for Morgan's head.

Morgan wakes up, but his eyes are bloodshot red. He's in a limo and walkers are passing by. Just as he starts to notice his surroundings, the window is shot out by Virginia's riders as they pass through. They don't see Morgan in the car. He gets out, struggling to move. His arm is bandaged, and his beard has grown. A walker approaches him and stops but doesn't seem to care about him. After it passes, Morgan announces his presence so that the walker comes back, and he tries to kill it with his stick. Morgan climbs up into an old water tower that has a rope there to haul supplies. Morgan has been away long enough to make this water tower his own sanctuary with mattresses and supplies, including medicine. He scribbles some coordinates on his bag and heads into town, limping along. He checks the inside of a police car and finds a gun, but the clip is empty. He looks up and sees a baby crib in a shop window. There's a little mobile hanging over it, and he is reminded about Grace and her baby. As walkers approach, he stumbles and lands away from his bag, but the dead continue to disregard him. Someone comes along and kills them, and he almost kills Morgan but he immediately stops him. The man says he's never seen walkers turn away from a meal. When he spots Morgan's wound, he asks an interesting question: "How long has it smelled like that?" Morgan isn't interested in his help because he says the man is in danger if he gets too close. He notices Morgan's wound is infected. It's gangrene. He offers Morgan some pickle chips and says his name is Isaac. Morgan is afraid of getting to know him because he has lost so many people. Isaac is more interested in why the dead ignored him. They're interrupted when Rufus and Emile wander through along with a few of the dead.

Emile calls out to Morgan, saying he has nothing to fear. He then chops off a walker head. Emile is scooping out walker guts when Isaac greets him. He sees that the walker didn't eat Morgan. He pulls out a drawing of Morgan and asks if he has seen him. Isaac asks why he wants to know, but Emile says it's part of the social contract that he answers him. Emile wonders if he knows Isaac, but Isaac would never forget someone with an axe like he has. Rufus is scratching at the door of the store where Morgan is hiding. Emile sees Isaac sweating and wants to go inside. The bloodhound charges inside and finds Morgan's scarf and blood, but Morgan is gone. Emile doesn't believe Isaac's story about getting tangled up in it when he fought off the walkers. Emile starts smashing things in the store, attracting walkers. He tells Emile that he better not be lying about Morgan being outside somewhere. Isaac runs outside and fights off walkers. Morgan makes it back to his shelter and he wakes up to find Isaac trying to fish the bullet out of the wound. He tells Morgan he needs his help because his wife is 8 months pregnant and might need oxygen and support if the baby comes early. He needs a gun to fight them off. Morgan gives him the gun he found and Isaac loads his two bullets into it. The bullets won't get them far, but Morgan could walk them right past the dead. Morgan realizes that he never told his name to Isaac, who admits he'd seen Morgan's tapes at a truck stop. Morgan says he doesn't "do that" anymore, becoming defensive. He wants Isaac to go. Isaac aims the gun at Morgan and says he needs help and doesn't have any options. They're interrupted once again when Emile backs his truck into the water tower, knocking it over. When Morgan wakes up he sees Emile approaching with Rufus and Isaac fighting off walkers. Emile is upset that Isaac lied to him. Emile says Morgan is already dead. Morgan aims the gun and shoots Emile, but just to wound him. They steal the truck and drive off, leaving Emile and Rufus behind.

Down the road, they come to a washed out road and Isaac says that they will have to take the long way. Morgan wants to go back because the tower is his big reason he keeps going. He says someone else stitched him up. He heard gunshots and passed out, and when he came to he was patched up with a message: "You don't know me but I heard your message. You need to do the same. You still have things left to do." Isaac realizes he was keeping the water tower for someone else but he points out that he will never be safe. He vows that the place they're going is safe and he will take care of Morgan's family if Morgan helps care for his. Morgan agrees and they set off on foot, together. Isaac asks who made the cut for the water tower. He knows names from the tapes, and he knows Grace as "pad thai". When he asks if Virginia split them up, Morgan gets defensive again. He thinks Isaac is leading him into a trap, but Isaac explains he was one of Virginia's rangers. He only kept it a secret because he wanted Morgan to trust him. He saw the tapes and couldn't believe Morgan was giving away what Virginia was charging for. He and his wife ran away when she got pregnant. They found a place that is safe and he wants Morgan to be part of it, but the bullet needs to come out. He knows Morgan is leaving it in because he thinks he deserves it. Isaac leads Morgan to a dam. They need to clear out the walkers, but first he needs Morgan to get through with a backpack to give the supplies to his wife Rachel. Once they fortify the gate, no one is getting in. Isaac will go the long way, and hopefully he makes it before the baby arrives. Morgan gives him the gun and they part ways. When Morgan reaches the bottom of the ravine the walkers pass him by, but the effort has worn him out and he collapses. When he makes too much noise a walker goes after him but Isaac shoots it and urges Morgan to keep going. When they start swarming Isaac he calls out to them, saying he's right there. He kills them as Isaac works to fight them off. There are a lot of walkers but they're both able to fight them off pretty well. Unfortunately, more walkers keep coming. Morgan gets back up and keeps going once Isaac is clear. Soon they're all dead and the entrance is secure. Morgan hands him the backpack and says it's better coming from Rachel's husband. As they walk through, Isaac explains that he used to fish in the lake with his grandfather. The lake is gone because the dam gave out. On a map, all you see is a lake so there is no way Virginia would ever find it. The lake had flooded an old town, and that's where Isaac and his wife are. They arrive to find Rachel in labor. She sees Morgan and smiles. They need to get ready for the baby.

That night, Morgan is standing watch when Isaac says it won't be much longer until the baby arrives. Isaac says his grandfather told him the story of how they flooded the town. They'd been looking for his fishing cabin but found the town, and thanks to the lake the ground is fertile, meaning they can rebuild. Morgan says it's not his mission, but his mission was to help him get Isaac back. There's the sound of a dog barking, Emile has found them. Isaac says Emile only does what he does because someone paid him. Isaac urges Morgan to fight for his people, but Morgan is ready to give everything up to protect them. Outside, he offers himself to Emile in exchange for the others. He falls to the ground and waits for Emile to approach. Emile promises that Morgan won't even feel it. Morgan closes his eyes and waits but Isaac tackles Emile to protect him. Morgan hits Emile with his stick, giving him time to urge Isaac to get away. Isaac reveals that he'd been bitten on the way to finding a gun, and so his mission was to find someone to help his wife because he doesn't have much time left. Morgan realizes that this changes everything. Isaac says he changed and so can Morgan. When Emile wakes up again, they fight. Emile digs his finger into Morgan's wound. Incapacitated, Morgan is on the ground while Emile fetches his axe. He looks over to see the note and manages to grab his stick, using it to block the axe. He stabs Emile through the chest. Morgan grabs the axe. "You didn't do it then, and you won't do it now," Emile says. Morgan chops his head off. He staggers to the steps and tells Isaac that he told his friends to live. "Just live." He hears a baby crying and Isaac staggers to his feet to go meet his child. Morgan says he's going to rest for a bit. He blacks out.

When Morgan wakes up, Rufus is licking his head. He's all bandaged up and there's a tray beside the bed with the bloody bullet in it. Rachel says Isaac insisted on taking it out. She's feeding the baby. Morgan asks if it's a boy or girl. "We have a daughter. We named her Morgan." She says it was Isaac's idea. Morgan asks where Isaac is, and Rachel's eyes fill with tears. Later, she shows Morgan Isaac's grave. He says he owes it all to Isaac. Emile's head is still alive, and he spots.

Storyline: Dwight runs through a field before collapsing. He hallucinates Sherry's voice on the radio and chucks it into the dirt from frustration. He makes it back to the convoy's abandoned cars before hearing a group of horses ride up to him. He stands up to shoot and discovers the horses without riders. "You just saved my life," he tells them.

At Humbug's Gulch, Virginia responds to Morgan's radio call. She is happy to hear from him and reveals she knew about the site because she tried to help the residents but they rejected her and got killed. Virginia suggests she'll split them up in her settlements instead and Morgan agrees to let her help them.

Morgan apologizes to everyone and then checks on Grace. She tells him she told a man from the plant how she felt right before he died, and that's why she didn't want Morgan to do the same. She then suggests she'll kill herself when Virginia arrives because she knows she'll have no use for her. "I won't let that happen," Morgan tells her. Meanwhile, John and June debate their future. They don't want to survive alone.

Suddenly, Dwight arrives with the horses and explains if they're alive then there must be water nearby. They argue over whether to stay or not and eventually decide to stay, where they'll deal with the walkers and Virginia. Morgan, Strand, Dwight, John, June, Grace, and Daniel break open the fence and use the horses to lead the massive herd to ambush Virginia and take supplies. With the walkers gone, the rest of their group moves into the Gulch.

On the road, Strand and Daniel leave to find water while the rest continue to lead the walkers down the road. Dwight tells June about his Sherry hallucination and says if he's meant to see her again it'll come naturally. At the Gulch, Jacob finds a church which he thinks he can work out of while Al discovers that the horses are actually from Virginia's group because they have her keys insignia. In the woods, Strand tells Daniel they should consider joining Virginia, but Daniel reminds him she's not giving them a choice and that's all they need to know. Suddenly, they spot Luciana among Virginia's people so Daniel radios the group to abandon the plan while Strand goes to talk to Virginia.

Meanwhile, Dwight quickly gets surrounded by walkers and is forced to jump off his horse as the walkers devour it. Dwight runs off but Morgan follows him and eventually catches up. The rest of the group leads the herd into the river while Morgan and Dwight hide in the bushes. Back at the Gulch, Althea shows the group the bodies of the people Virginia killed. She insists that they will die fighting Virginia, but Alicia wants to fight back. Morgan just wants to make sure everybody survives and reminds them despite their failures they still made a difference in the world, and they should keep living their lives.

Later, Alicia and Wes paint the church as the group prepares the wedding. Jacob officiates as Althea films the ceremony. June and John exchange their vows, and Dwight offers up his and Sherry's rings for them to use. They kiss and Daniel and Grace sing for them. Suddenly, Virginia and her pioneers arrive in a SWAT truck-leading caravan. Morgan asks her to take care of his people and not sacrifice any of them. She reluctantly agrees.

That night, the group gets separated and driven away. Virginia tells Althea she'll soon need to hear more about the helicopter community. Sarah tearfully bids farewell to Wendell as Strand promises Alicia they can do more damage to the pioneers from the inside. Daniel assures Charlie everything will be fine and is separated from Skidmark. John repeatedly tells June he loves her as they are separated. Morgan then confesses his feelings to Grace before Virginia shows up and sends her away. Grace tells Morgan she feels the same about him as she's driven off with a doctor, leaving them alone.

Virginia pulls out a revolver and tells Morgan he's staying. "You don't have to do this," Morgan says before swinging his stick at her. He connects with her face but gets shot through the chest in the process. Virginia tosses his staff as he crawls back towards the church. She points the gun at him again only to fire a blank. Virginia then gets a call from the doctor informing her Grace isn't sick, she's just pregnant and malnourished. Morgan tells her she was wrong to say they didn't have a future. She says she hopes he dies before jumping into her jeep and driving away.

Morgan is left on the porch of the church. He calls out over the radio to encourage everyone to continue living their lives. "Live. All of you. If you can hear me, just live." He then passes out as walkers close in on him.

Storyline: Morgan watches tapes of himself discussing how he met his wife and how much he loves his son. He tells Althea they should drop off more boxes before returning to the convoy. She reluctantly agrees and notices one of her gas cans missing. They quickly find a man filling up a car. He takes out a knife and begs them to leave. Suddenly, four horsemen arrive and the three of them are forced to hide in the van. The horsemen nearly discover them but luckily get distracted and leave.

Elsewhere, Grace is working on some solar panels and confesses to Daniel she is thinking about the future and wants to stockpile the panels for use at any future community they might establish. Suddenly, she gets a call over the radio from the convoy about losing the oil fields and updates Daniel.

Meanwhile, Al interviews the man they met. He introduces himself as Tom and explains the horsemen offered to help his community but later tried to kill him when they decided they didn't need him anymore. He explains his sister Janis is still stuck in the Paradise Ridge apartments and they have to find her. Al recognizes the phrase "It's not about today, it's about tomorrow" from Isabelle and promises to help him out.

In the night, Morgan asks Al if she really wants to save Janis or if she just wants the story. She tells him it's not just about the story and suggests she needs something else in there. Later that night, Morgan catches up with Al and warns her again not to go in alone. He prods her more about what's really going on and she dishes it back. Elsewhere, Daniel and Grace's transmission gives out because their truck is too heavy with supplies. Grace suggests they hole up in a place nearby in the meantime.

At the apartment complex, Althea and Morgan sneak in while a guard comes outside to kill a walker. They are caught off guard when a truck and some horses pull in. They recognize the tanker truck as their own. Althea reveals that she heard about the "tomorrow" motto from another person. Morgan encourages Althea to look for her person while he investigates their truck.

On the road, Daniel tells Grace that for a while, Skidmark was all he had. Suddenly, walkers show up and overwhelm them, ruining his vinyl collection. Back at Paradise Ridge, Morgan breaks into a house to search for Janis as Al finds their inventory board and location map. Morgan throws a walker off a balcony, but it finds Al and tackles her into a swimming pool. Morgan jumps in after her and stabs the walker in the head. They swim to the surface as the generator lights pop on and Virginia and her pioneers compliment them on making a hell of an entrance.

The next morning, Virginia visits Morgan and Al in an apartment. She introduces herself and explains she watched their tapes. Morgan asks about Janis and Virginia explains she took off shortly after Tom. She also assures them their friends are fine, except for Logan. Virginia tells Morgan he should speak to a psychologist in her community about losing his family. Al cuts in and asks if one of her settlements has helicopters, but Virginia asks where she got that crazy idea. Afterward, Virginia escorts them to the gate and hands Morgan his staff, repaired by a woodworker, as a gift. She reminds them they can always join her group but they ignore her and walk away.

Inside an abandoned restaurant, Daniel tells Grace he got those records for Charlie, who helped him get out of his state. He asks her to look after Charlie if anything ever happens to him, and she agrees. Grace then reveals she wishes she could help Morgan more but Daniel assures her she already has. She then spots a guitar and suggests they teach Charlie with it. Together they sing the chorus of "End of the Line".

On the road, Tom apologizes to Morgan and Al for getting them into trouble for nothing, but they assure him they'll keep looking for his sister. Later, Al tells Morgan she cares about Isabelle and was hoping she would be connected to Virginia's group. Morgan tells her he doesn't think he needs to do tapes on his past anymore, signaling he might be finally moving on. He then radios Grace and says they need to talk. Daniel picks up and says she has become terribly ill. She tells Morgan she hopes to see him again but doesn't think there's much time left. Daniel gives him their location and starts comforting Grace.

Jacob then notices the bulb in his chandelier dimming and begins to panic, telling Charlie he has to leave to find batteries. Charlie says she knows where he can find some. She radios June to tell her she ran away because she was tired of the constant moving. She reveals where she is and asks her to bring car batteries. While they wait, Jacob attends to a building full of walkers, where he says a prayer.

John and June arrive with the battery and Jacob thanks them for keeping the eternal flame lit. Charlie asks them to help Jacob repair his fence and they agree. John offers Jacob a caramel candy and Jacob gifts him a yarmulke. Outside, June tells Charlie the temple isn't the right place to settle down because it's too small and too far from a water source. At the convoy, Sarah and Dwight share a beer and discuss how they used to survive before the caravan. Suddenly, Dwight spots Logan's crew on the road.

Back at the temple, Charlie suggests her group could live there with Jacob, but he politely turns her down as June and John tell her it's time to go. Suddenly, Sarah radios them about Logan's crew and June says they're on their way. They head outside to find all the walkers from the locked-up building surrounding them. Jacob takes them to the roof and explains he and his congregants were holed up in the temple at the onset of the apocalypse. He explains that he left to gather supplies and when he came back, everyone was dead. John and June climb down and use a ladder to create a bridge in between cars to avoid the walkers.

Meanwhile, Rollie intercepts the radio signal and warns of trouble. Sarah walkies June to tell her to hurry as Logan's crew starts chasing them. As they make their final ladder bridge the gate gives way and John and June get trapped on top of a car. June tells Charlie there's only one way out of this but Charlie refuses to give the place up. She reminds Jacob that he told her God led her there but he reveals he doesn't believe in God anymore and he began losing faith when the world turned, but had to pretend to keep his people alive. "I'm alive because I didn't believe in God," Jacob says, claiming he kept tradition because it's all he had left. Charlie finally relents and Jacob uses a horn to lure the walkers into the temple. John and June lock the doors. The walkers extinguish the light as Jacob and Charlie escape out the back.

Meanwhile, Dwight and Sarah's truck runs out of gas as Logan's crew finally catch up. Before they can battle, Logan's crew decide to leave. Sarah notices John and June pull up behind them in Al's SWAT truck. Later, Charlie apologizes for running away but June says the perfect place is still out there. Jacob says that's called faith and that he'll start looking around for what he wants. While fueling up, Sarah and Dwight introduce themselves to Jacob. Sarah reveals she's also Jewish and is excited to hear he makes wine.

Elsewhere, Rollie radios Logan that the convoy are as far away as possible. Logan smashes his truck through the gates of a quarry, having finally found the oil rigs.

Storyline: A man named Charles radios Morgan's group to say he saw their video and wants them to come to the mall he's holed up in to kill him, since he's been bitten.

At the mall, Dwight cuts down a walker with his axe and leads Morgan and Grace inside. In an office, Morgan and Grace find an iPod with a note from Charles promising his favorite songs. They also find a chair where he tied himself up until he turned and a herd of walkers on the ground level. Suddenly, Grace passes out and Morgan tells Dwight to find a first aid kit.

Elsewhere, Daniel and Skidmark are leading the caravan of survivors around to find Logan. They find fresh bullet rounds by a gas station. He plays music over the radio as a storm approaches. Back at the mall, Morgan wakes Grace who is laid upon a mattress. Dwight enters with the update from Daniel. Morgan instructs Dwight to return to the caravan to bring trucks so they can load up while Grace decides she'll stay behind and help.

Outside the mall, Dwight gives Morgan a package of water bottles to bring into the mall before he heads out. He reminds Morgan what it's like to be on the other side of taking people's stuff and asks how he thinks this will end for them. Morgan hopes Logan will recognize the good they're doing, but Dwight knows this morality won't be enough. Dwight ultimately radios to Daniel to tell him he is heading south.

Inside, Grace listens to "A Tale of Two Cities" on the iPod as she looks at the herd in the ground level, preparing to find Charles. Morgan stops her and Grace admits she wanted to get to the urgent care downstairs to know if she really had radiation poisoning. She asks Morgan to help her get to the generator and she'll do the rest and he agrees.

On the road, Dwight gets held up at gunpoint while taking a leak. Rollie confirms he works with Logan before knocking him out. Back in the mall, Morgan uses a toy car to draw away the walkers while he and Grace try to get to the generator. As they make their way down, Grace walks toward a walker she believes to be Chuck but gets the whole herd to chase her, forcing them to lock themselves in a store. Morgan assures her Dwight will rescue them tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Dwight wakes up in the back of a truck at night. Rollie threatens him but Dwight reveals he knows how this works. He pistol whips him but Dwight recovers and tells the man he won't tell him where the oil fields are, reminding him he's been through much worse. At the mall, Morgan and Grace bond over her past and she reiterates how scared she is about the radiation. When she prompts Morgan to talk about his son, he refuses. Suddenly, the walkers begin cracking the glass on the door and they're forced to move.

Back in the truck, Dwight is visited by Rollie again. He turns his attention to the letters from Sherry and believes those will get Dwight to talk. He starts lighting one on fire. As Dwight lunges at him, Rollie pulls his gun at his face. Suddenly, a walker approaches and Dwight manages to throw him to the ground, take his gun, and knock him out.

While traversing the dark corridors of the mall, Morgan explains to Grace that Duane was six when he got him a remote control car. "He made me smile. He did. See, I've always been a kind of serious guy except with them. That's how I knew it was right," Morgan explains while also admitting he found himself smiling on his first date with his wife. He then asks Grace if she has someone, but she admits she never wanted a relationship out of fear.

They get the generator working and the power comes on in the mall. They lift the gate on the clinic, which causes the alarm to sound and a new horde of walkers to chase them. Morgan gets attacked by a walker on an escalator and Grace saves him. The herd starts making its way up the stairs and they are also surrounded from the sides. Grace finds a way to send the escalator back down. They break into the security room and finally turn off the alarm. Grace grabs the keys as Morgan notices Charles on one of the monitors, still alive.

Meanwhile, Dwight walks Rollie to a clearing and tells him he was given a second chance and he's paying it forward by giving him one as well. He unties the man and tells him to make a choice. At the mall, Morgan and Grace find Chuck on the roof and he tells them he still wants to be buried under the stars, despite it being a cloudy night. Grace takes out a kid's toy which projects stars on an overhang, which he appreciates crying in joy.

The next day, Morgan and Grace bury Chuck outside the mall and put a stuffed turtle on top of him. They make it to the Urgent Care, where Grace decides she no longer wants to go inside because she doesn't want to find out when she is going to die. They hang out at the mall and ride the carousel.

Later, Daniel arrives hoping for a Cinnabon roll but gets disappointed. Dwight updates them on his run-in and suggests they should be more careful. Tess then mentions they could settle in at a ranch they passed on the road. They agree and the group begins loading the mall supplies into their trucks. Daniel finally cuts Dwight's hair and beard. Grace switches her audiobook to normal speed, signaling she's finally enjoying her life.

Morgan tells Grace he's not going with her because he has to help Al. They separately shed tears as he drives off.

Storyline: In a found-footage style, Althea interviews the group asking why they want to help others. Morgan explains someone was trying to help him. Alicia explains that she used to kill walkers but now is looking for a new purpose. John explains that this group is rich because they have skills. Their effort now is purely to help others. Al presses Morgan on why he says they all need to start living. "I guess sometimes it's easier to see what other people need help with," he says. Al puts down her camera to kill a walker and then resumes her interview.

Althea recalls how they raided a Big Stop store to fetch camera batteries and equipment. Morgan explains that they made contact with more people, so they got more trucks to cover more ground. Sarah gleefully explains how they took Logan's oil truck and abandoned him on the road. Dwight admits he fell in with the right people and still hopes to find Sherry. Daniel then tells Dwight he wants to cut his hair. "He won't let me give him a haircut," he jokes. Daniel says it will make him look more presentable.

Alicia explains she, Luciana, and Strand are the lead vehicle on supply missions. They map out the roads for the group. Morgan has been training her with aikido. "I think the change is good, it's what I needed," she confesses. It's shown that the group has grown. There are a lot more people in a makeshift community. June explains she runs the caravan with Grace, where they escort people to outposts when necessary. She promises they'll eventually find a place to call home. Al asks Grace why she was checking her neck earlier and Grace says she just wants to be prepared in case she gets sick.

Luciana radios Morgan to a house to help someone named Tess. She tells them she's waiting for her husband to return with her son's asthma medication but won't come outside because of the landmines. On the road, Sarah sings along to truck songs as Charlie, Dwight, and Daniel admit in confessionals they hate it. Back at the house, Morgan tells Tess they're recording the experience so they can prove to future survivors that they're legit. Tess explains she hasn't left the house since the onset of the apocalypse and Morgan promises to stay there until her husband returns.

Elsewhere, Alicia, Strand, and June search supplies from the pharmacy that Tess said her husband was at. They don't find him so they split up to look. Alicia finds a tree with "If you're reading this then you're still here" painted on it. Alicia admits that Madison would have loved it. Suddenly, Strand saves her from a walker. She reveals on camera she hasn't killed any since the plane.

John tells the camera that it makes sense Morgan is so dedicated to this mother/son scenario due to his loses. He also mentions that he and Morgan have each other's backs. Back at the house, the walkers break through the fence and get immediately blown up by a landmine. Meanwhile, June reveals on camera that the walker Strand saved Alicia from was Tess' husband. When Morgan hears the son cry out from the house, he sprints through the yard to get him. However, he freezes inches away from the porch after Al spots a landmine next to his foot. John and Luciana join him as Alicia, Strand, and June arrive with the inhaler.

Morgan radios Tess that they have the inhaler but she has to come outside to get it. He then breaks the news that her husband is dead and she needs to come get the medicine. She tearfully asserts her husband is still out there. Al instructs Morgan on how to navigate the mine he's standing on. He digs around it as John hands him a screwdriver to get to the fuse. Al admits it's a 50/50 chance she's right.

Morgan prepares to pull the firing pin until Tess radios them to stop. She finally emerges from her house and admits her husband isn't coming back. She hands him a clothespin to use as Morgan tells the others to back up. He successfully takes his foot off of the mine and once out of range, it explodes. Morgan returns to give Tess and her son the inhaler. The group is proud that the woman stepped out for the first time in two years to help them and they were there to help her. Tess is emotional as Morgan comforts her over the loss of her husband. He reflects on his family, opening up about how difficult it can be to say goodbye.

That night, Tess and her son join the group as they enjoy a recipe Grace hadn't cooked up until now. Morgan asks Alicia if she wants to practice tomorrow but she has found a new purpose. "I wanna know who is painting those trees," she says. Al then asks the group what each want: Morgan longs to say goodbye to his wife and son, Alicia explains that she needs help finding her own way to make things better, John wants to make the world a better place, June vows to find them a permanent home, Grace has a lot more things she wants to do, Strand wants to make the most of his second chance, Daniel hopes to make Ofelia proud, Dwight wants to end each day making someone else's better, Charlie wants to do right by the group, Sarah wants to keep the truck running, and Al just wants to make sure these stories are more than tapes. The tape concludes with everyone pleading with future survivors to help others.

It's revealed the tape is being watched by a survivor named Wes, who is holed up in an old gas station store. He considers reaching out on his walkie but decides against it. He packs his things before pressing his ear to a locked door. He then stares at a "Take what you need" box before leaving.

Outside, Wes gases up a motorcycle as Logan and his crew arrive. Wes tells them he doesn't want any trouble but Logan tells his people to take his gas and demands to know where the oil fields are. Wes insists that he doesn't know and he isn't with the people on the tape, claiming he stole the gas. Logan admits that he likes him but has his people shoot up Wes' motorcycle so he can't follow them. Logan tosses him a radio and orders him to call Morgan's group for help with escaping an approaching herd and to tell them that they are making more enemies than friends out there, while his crew has more bullets than they know what to do with. Wes is then left behind as Logan's crew drive away.

Storyline: In a flashback, Morgan's group is at the dam taking turns on the radio trying to reach out to strangers who might need help. After days of no response, Morgan finally makes contact with a man named Logan, who he promises to help. In the present, Doris and Logan's crew confront Logan, having torn apart the factory in search of something that he promised them but they can't find. The group demands to know what they are looking for, threatening to kill him otherwise.

On the road, Alicia takes a hot shower off of Grace's truck and furiously tries to rinse off the contaminated blood. As the nuclear plant sirens continue to ring, Grace tells Alicia they have to leave soon. A herd of walkers approaches and Morgan radios Luciana to tell her they'll try to lead them away as they prepare the plane and runway. Elsewhere, John hot-wires a car and drives him and Dwight away.

Back on the truck, Alicia tells Morgan she's sorry she couldn't kill any more of them, but he tells her she shouldn't be sorry and promises to teach her aikido. Grace then stops the truck as the walkers pass by and head towards the siren. Suddenly, the siren stops, and the nuclear plant explodes. The walkers then turn to their truck as Grace tries to drive away. She hits a car on the barricade and gets stuck, forcing them to run away.

Meanwhile, Sarah comes across Logan leaving the dam and asks him if he can help her light the runway for her friends. He reminds her he has stayed alive by not sticking his neck out, so he declines and drives off. Elsewhere, John and Dwight's car stalls out which Dwight suggests is due to the gas going bad. June radios John and vows to come to get him but he tells her not to and makes her promise to get on the plane whether he makes it back or not. He confesses his love for her and tells her she's his reason to live and he wants her to have a reason to live, too. John spots a message written on a tree - 'if you're reading this, it means you're still here', below the message, a ladder extending upwards from the flames. John then asks him how far he thinks Sherry's car is.

At the plane's airfield, Morgan, Alicia, and Grace run with the walkers close behind. Morgan radios Luciana to tell everyone to get ready to fly but she says John and Dwight aren't here yet, so Morgan asks them to help him fight the walkers. On the other airstrip, Sarah and Wendell discuss how they will light the runway for the plane's arrival when Daniel arrives to help them with some tools from his warehouse.

Back at the airfield, the group walks backwards to the plane as the walkers close in. Strand tells Alicia that Madison would be proud of her as June tells Morgan she made John a promise and they have to get on the plane. The group makes a run for the plane as John and Dwight drive their way past the walkers in Sherry's van. Everyone makes it on the plane safely as a wall of smoke from the reactor fills the runway. Strand and Al steer through it and make it into the open air. June tells John she didn't want to leave and he comforts her.

In the air, Grace breaks Morgan's staff in half and throws the contaminated half out of the plane. Morgan thanks her but doesn't look pleased. John tells June he worried he would never talk to her again and doesn't want to waste another moment. He fashions a candy wrapper into a ring, gets down on one knee, and proposes. She gleefully says yes and the two kiss.

That night, Sarah, Wendell, and Daniel finish the lights on the tarmac as the plane gets closer. Strand sees the lights and tells the other to look. Suddenly, Wendell spots a walker and kills it with his wheelchair spikes. Then another walker approaches and trips the runway lights. On cue, the plane runs out of fuel and Wendell's forced to jump out of his chair to fix it. The plane roars toward the dark runway as Wendell fixes the lights at the last second, allowing the plane to finally land.

Morgan embraces Sarah and introduces her to Grace. He then meets Daniel as everyone else gets introduced. Alicia spots Daniel and runs up to hug him. He apologizes to her for what happened and she promises to make things better. She introduces him to Dwight, who Daniel says needs a haircut. Charlie hugs him as Strand approaches. Daniel tells Strand he was wrong. "We all are sometimes," Strand says.

Suddenly, a woman contacts Morgan on the radio, asking if that was his plane flying overhead. She's seen his boxes and wants his help. The communication cuts out as Logan interrupts the signal and says they need to chat. He pulls up in an old truck as everyone focuses their guns on him. Logan explains that the world is in a state of decay that is making it hard for people to get to the places they need to. As part of that, gasoline is going bad which Clayton had anticipated and created a place to solve that problem. The location is in Clayton's journal which Logan had expected to find at the factory. Logan warns that if his crew knew he went to them, they would kill them all. Logan suggests that if they give him the journal, he can help the group find the place and with a glance at Sarah, admits that he has some things he needs to make up for as well. Logan insists that they need to work together to find the place before his former crew does.

5x7 Rating: 8.3/10

Storyline: In the woods, Alicia cuts down the walker roadblock while Strand and Charlie stave off walkers at the crash site. Strand finally frees the propeller as Charlie uses the balloon as a walker barricade from at least five of the radioactive walkers. Elsewhere, Grace is prepping the generator at the power plant. Morgan explains the situation to her over the radio. She is willing to help but can't leave until the generator is running and instead gives him directions to a place that might have a vehicle. Alicia struggles to make her way through the maze of walkers before she sees Dylan, who tells her to come with him. He takes Alicia to the kids' treehouse hideout, which has walkers tied to the gate. Annie warns Alicia she never should have come here.

Alicia reminds Annie they'll end up dead if they stay in these radioactive lands. Annie asks why she's so adamant on helping them. "I have to do something good to make up for what I did," Alicia says. Annie refuses to let her go until she helps them rebuild their barriers.

Back at the truck stop, the group realizes that there's a hole in the plane and they have to find more gas. Al claims she knows a place. Elsewhere, Morgan checks out the house Grace sent him to, where he finds radiation protection and pictures of Grace. Alicia radios him to tell him she found the kids but won't be able to get them back for the flight. Morgan looks out the window at a walker and sees himself in the reflection, telling Alicia they're going to get everyone out and do what they came to do.

Meanwhile, Al takes June back to the mountain with the fuel drop as John finally makes contact with June. She warns the reactor will soon meltdown and he needs to rush. John is ready to head back and Dwight insists on staying behind on his own. This almost prompts John to tell Dwight about the letter he found but Dwight's sense of hope convinces him to stay.

Back at the crash site, Strand reveals to Charlie he could have been on the first plane and promises he won't hesitate again. Suddenly, Morgan pulls up in a truck wearing a hazmat suit. He kills the walkers and reunites with them.

In the woods, walkers break free from the maze and Annie and Max are forced to run back. Alicia finds Dylan's drawings of the tied up walkers and he explains Annie used it as an idea for their real-life barricade. Annie and Max barely make it back to the hideout with walkers now surrounding their little community.

Meanwhile, Morgan radios Grace to tell her they got the truck and she informs them the generator broke and they have a day before the meltdown. She promises to try and fix it to give them more time. Morgan decides he needs to rescue Grace, so he tells Strand and Charlie to get the truck and he'll meet them at the truck stop later.

Elsewhere, Al tells June about Isabelle as they pack up the fuel on the truck. June explains how she was always grateful for what she had with John when she didn't know if she would see him again. She says she's certain she'll see Isabelle again.

Back at the treehouse, Alicia demands to get her weapon back from Annie when she finds out their guns are just for show. She tells the kids to find a way down as she begins chopping down the walkers. Meanwhile, John's unable to hot-wire a car as he and Dwight continue their search. John finally decides to tell Dwight about the letter he found. He apologizes and Dwight gets out of the truck.

At the plant, Morgan finds Grace working on the generator and insists on helping, claiming she isn't dead yet. Meanwhile, Alicia takes down several walkers at the kids' camp while they flee. While killing a walker, Alicia's weapon gets stuck and she is splashed with the walker's blood when she yanks it out. Alicia notices a chain around the walker's neck and is horrified to discover it to be a dosimeter, meaning the walker and his blood are radioactive. A couple of walkers get past her and tumble down the hill, forcing Annie to shoot them from the hideout. Alicia radios Annie to tell her to run back to the plane. "I don't know what you did but I know you made up for it. You can let go, too," Annie tells her tearing up before she and the kids run away. As they leave, Alicia calls for all of the walkers to come at her.

At night, Strand and Charlie arrive at the truck stop and update Luciana on the situation. Elsewhere, Morgan tells Grace he saved her because of Eastman and describes him as a man who helped him when he was stuck. "He taught me that all life is precious," Morgan says. Grace explains that they both believe other people's lives are more important than their own, leaving him in thought.

A while later, Annie drives the kids back to the truck stop. Luciana introduces them to Strand and Annie tells him Alicia's still out there. Meanwhile, John apologizes to Dwight for hiding Sherry's letter. Dwight admits he understands why he did it and says he doesn't want to give up despite Sherry's request. John agrees and Dwight promises to get him back to June.

In the woods, Alicia washes her face in a river before getting a radio call from Morgan. He asks if she's okay and she lies but says she's being followed by a herd of walkers. Morgan commends her on getting the kids back, making her happy. He then tells her that in trying to make up for the lives they took, they lost their way to live for themselves and they're going to find a way to do that too. As the herd catches up to her, Alicia is forced to run again.

Suddenly, the alarms at the power plant start sounding as several walkers become attracted to it. Grace confirms that the alarms signal the start of the meltdown, alarming Morgan.

5x5 Rating: 8.3/10 CRM episode

Storyline: In the rain, a tied up Althea is carried by the CRM soldier. She wakes up and notices them nearby spreading powder on the corpse of the armored walker before lighting it on fire. Althea grabs her bag and runs through the woods. She ultimately falls down a hill where she gets her camera out of the bag before continuing her sprint. She quickly gets surrounded by walkers and is saved by the stranger, who then knocks her to the ground. Althea knocks the helmet off the soldier revealing a woman who demands the camera.

The next morning, Althea finds herself tied to the passenger seat in an old car. She calls out to a nearby walker, grabs the barbed wire attached to it, and uses it to get free. She slams the walker's head in with the door and leaves. Nearby, she discovers a helicopter parked in the field.

Althea tries radioing Morgan and Alicia but a man radios back calling for "Ground 17." Suddenly, the woman appears and holds her at gunpoint, instructing her to get out. She tells the person on the radio that the lead was killed in action. "I can be inbound within 72 hours," she says, pointing out she has to get gas before delivering the payload. The man pauses and promises to send a reclamation team. The woman then demands Al give her the tape she recorded of the armored walker and papers it was carrying. Al agrees but only if she gets her story. The woman agrees but says they need to find fuel. They pack supplies and head out to a fuel drop to get gas for the helicopter.

On the road, Althea questions her on her background, rationalizing their stories will be all that's left after they're gone. Suddenly, walkers tumble down the hill and the woman instructs Al to stay inside, but she refuses. The woman gives her a bite-proof jacket and then takes care of the walkers. A second rockslide hits their car and tips it over. Al grabs her camera as a walker emerges from the rubble and tries to bite her, but the jacket saves her.

The woman finds a tape in Althea's bag called "The Bog #7" and watches it. In it, Althea reports that the National Guard and the Army are shooting at each other, and then apologizes to Jesse and says she should have stayed. Althea explains to the woman that her brother died and she risked her life for the tape because it's all she had left of him. The woman tells Al she should be afraid of the people in black uniforms. "We are a force who are not living for ourselves or for now. You have your stories, already making every day the past. We have the future," she says ominously.

Althea and the woman continue on their journey to retrieve gas. They ultimately post up for the night and talk about their common lives before the fall. The woman reveals she killed her partner because she was doing her job. "I do think stories matter, some things just matter more to me," she says.

The next day, the two scale a mountain with rock-climbing equipment. They encounter an undead climber and the woman nearly falls to her death. She repositions as Althea kills the walker and maneuvers around it. The two eventually reach the top and lay down. The woman reveals her partner, Beckett, used to be her friend and together they would fetch supplies to purify water around the power plant, but her partner got spooked by the undead and she had to kill him. She takes out a key and said it belonged to a cabin her partner liked, but she doesn't need it anymore. She tosses it off the cliff and reveals she might have to kill Al for operational security.

Althea tackles the woman and takes her rifle, saying she needs it for her own security. She then threatens to leave with the climbing equipment and supplies without her so the woman finally agrees to her interview. That night, the woman reveals she's from a community but won't reveal its name or location that's focused on rebuilding society for the future. She says if she doesn't show her where the tape is then there might not be a future to tell their stories in. The woman pulls out a beer and says she wishes she met Althea before this. They ultimately bond over a beer. "Everything's so ugly nowadays. This is nice," Althea says tearing up.

In the morning, the woman has her gun back and wakes up Althea to get moving. They head off for the tape which Althea put on one of the dead. The woman uses gunpowder and a match to get rid of the tape when Althea hands it to her. "The tape was only part of the story," the woman tells her. She then makes Althea turn around and puts a gun to the back of her head.

Althea hands her the tape with her brother on it, saying she hopes that he can live on. "I want you to live. Don't chase this story. Do not try to find me. I hope you get back to your friends and that you can all get home somehow," the woman says, deciding not to kill her. She reveals her name is Isabelle and she's from Indiana. She says Al's the prettiest thing she's seen in the apocalypse and then kisses her. Shortly after, they go their separate ways.

Isabelle puts down the two canisters of gas and kills three walkers on the road, returns to her helicopter, fuels it up, and turns it on. She radios that she's ready to return, and the voice says they've called off the reclamation team. She stares at Al's tape and flies away. Meanwhile, Althea watches the helicopter take off before using the radio to reach out to Morgan.

A while later, Morgan and Alicia reunite with Althea in the woods. She lies and says she got attacked by walkers and don't know where the helicopter went. The kids walk up and Morgan says he'll explain on the way. Before they leave, Al reveals her last name is Szewczyk-Przygocki, and she thought they should know that. They smile and walk off together.

Storyline: It's October 12 according to a calendar. Daniel is working with his cat, Skidmark, to lure the dead away from a store. He is aware of a rig made to shoot him when he opens a door, so he taps it and dodges the bullets, taking the keys to a car from a walker that emerges before heading out with a bunch of new supplies and Skidmark. Back at his warehouse, he puts away the rations, tears off a day from his calendar, and cooks dinner with Skidmark.

That night, Strand sends Charlie to check out Daniel's plane. She finds it and radios him, Sarah, and Wendell so Strand instructs her to open the gate. Skidmark finds Charlie and meows at her, causing Daniel to investigate. Charlie hides in Daniel's new car but Skidmark follows her as he approaches and loads up the truck with guns. Strand wants Charlie to run but she insists on staying as Daniel leaves in the truck.

The next day at the gas station, Luciana feeds Dylan and gives him a book to read. Morgan tries radioing June, John, and Dwight and then says they must be out of range as they search for Sherry. Dylan lies and tells the others about a group who created the walker barricades and where their camp is. Morgan and Alicia head out to investigate while Luciana stays behind to fix the long-range antenna with Dylan's help.

Meanwhile, Strand and Sarah are loading up the plane at Salazar's compound. He realizes some of the gages from the cockpit are missing and then sees a note that says "I already said no! Channel 8." Strand turns his walkie to the channel and radios Daniel, who assures him he's far from the warehouse, but when he gets back he'll kill him. Sarah radios Daniel next and he advises her to stay away from Strand. He then tells Charlie to show herself, which she does. "I am going to save her from you," Daniel tells Strand.

Strand tries to plan his next moves and Sarah suggests they search the warehouse for the plane parts. On the road, Charlie asks if Daniel set up the traps in the stores and he says he hasn't, so she asks why he's been disarming them. "You ask too many questions," he says, as he plays a cassette on the boombox. Charlie recognizes it and the two begin to bond.

Back at the station, Luciana begins fixing the antenna and tells Dylan the story behind The Little Prince. She then sends him inside for duct tape. However, Dylan radios for his siblings on a secret channel. They tell him Morgan and the group have been cutting down their walkers. Dylan says he didn't send them that way so it must be someone else. Suddenly, Max and Annie spot a CRM member beheading walkers down the road. They hide and Dylan asks if they're okay but is nearly caught on the radio by Luciana.

At an abandoned grocery store full of walkers, Daniel tells Charlie to wait in the car as he and Skidmark check it out. Charlie appears behind him and comes up with a distraction plan, impressing him. Afterward, he starts breaking in from the back as the walkers become interested in Skidmark. One of the walkers sets off the gun, which shatters the glass and allows the walkers to break free. Daniel, Charlie, and Skidmark rush back into the car and slowly drive away.

Back in the woods, Morgan and Alicia don't find the camp Dylan told them about so they radio Luciana. However, Dylan grabs the walkie and tells them to go to the old utility road. He explains his siblings aren't dead but they need help and that he lied about everything, angering them. Meanwhile, Max and Annie crawl out of hiding and are immediately attacked by walkers. Annie drops her gun and twists her ankle, so Max carries her away.

Meanwhile, Strand radios Daniel and begs him to bring the instruments back and he says he will, but they're bringing a herd of walkers with them. He gives him instructions about returning but Sarah says she broke their fence down to free the plane. Daniel stops the truck and tells Charlie to drive the truck back to Strand to give him the instruments while he deals with the walkers. She leaves as he leads them away.

Charlie returns to the warehouse and gives Strand the plane instruments. Suspicious, Strand radios Daniel to ask if he's putting him in danger. Daniel tells him he wants to get back at him for lying to him about Ofelia, confusing the others. Strand explains how he lied about Ofelia's whereabouts and prevented him from saying goodbye before she died. Charlie says that despite their past, they need to save Daniel.

In the woods, Morgan and Alicia save Annie and Max from walkers and offer to help. Suddenly, a dozen kids armed with assault rifles surround them. "It's not just us," Annie says.

On the road, Sarah and Wendell arrive in Al's van to help Daniel, but the machine gun lever doesn't shoot, so Daniel hides underneath. Strand and Charlie then arrive in a truck with the plane in the back. Strand leads the walkers towards him, turns on the propellers, and watches as the walkers kill themselves until the plane engines stop. Strand confronts Daniel, who tells him he won't shoot him after all.

Back in the woods, Dylan radios to Annie and tells her that Morgan and Alicia are friendly. Max convinces her to tell the group to put down their weapons and agrees to help them find Al, but states that they were telling the truth about being unable to leave. Morgan quickly realizes that the kids are the children of the people they found at Camp Cackleberry and offers his condolences.

At the warehouse, Charlie asks Daniel what he would have said to Ofelia and he says, "Every day brings a chance to start over." He admits she could use that advice and then reveals he has to leave to take care of something. Charlie asks if she can come along but he says her friends need her more. He hands her Skidmark and says they can have everything in his warehouse except for a cigar, which is for when things get better.

A while later, Strand radios Luciana to tell her about the broken plane. Dylan suggests that instead, the group repair their crashed plane like the protagonist of The Little Prince did. Luciana smiles at this.

Elsewhere, Morgan and Alicia follow Annie, Max, and the kids towards where they saw the CRM people. Morgan tells Alicia about losing his wife and son. Suddenly, a helicopter flies overhead. "Those people, they came in that," Annie explains and suggests that they are leaving as they got what they came for, while Morgan and Alicia look on stunned as the helicopter flies away.

Fear the Walking Dead: Humbug's Gulch (2019)
Season 5, Episode 3
8/10
amazing
25 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
5x3 rating: 8.5/10

Storyline: The group kills several walker barriers on different roadblocks in an attempt to find Althea as they cross off circles on a map, forming a perimeter.

On the road, John and June drive out of walkie range and find another walker roadblock. They approach it and immediately come under fire, forcing them to retreat in their van and drive through the barrier. They arrive at a ranch called Humbug's Gulch, which John says it's similar to his old stomping grounds and claims they can find guns there. They make their way inside one of the buildings and find a locker full of guns and ammunition.

Elsewhere, Luciana finishes marking the locations on their map. Alicia apologizes to her about her injury, but Luciana says she doesn't feel bad about it. Alicia then overhears the kids talking over the radio, with Dylan giving away their location. She tries to talk to them but the feed cuts off and they decide they need to find them.

Back in the Gulch, John and June go outside in the middle of a windstorm so they can return to the van. Suddenly, a stranger approaches and starts shooting at them, causing them to retreat. He shoots one some of the tires but John clips the stranger with his gun. John runs over to find him and is held at gunpoint by Dwight. "Where is she?!" Dwight demands but is knocked out by June from behind.

Inside the building, they tie Dwight and rummage his stuff, finding maps from other states and notes from Sherry. June treats Dwight's gunshot wound as he finally wakes up. He yells for John to put down Sherry's notes and John tells him they just want to help him. He insists no one can help him. John asks about the walker blockades but doesn't get an answer.

On the road, Alicia and Luciana pop a tire and swerve into a ditch. They investigate and find makeshift spikes laid out on the road.

Meanwhile, John and June barricade the doors with furniture and decide to head to the roof and get out of the town on foot. Dwight offers them his car but they insist he will come with them. He finally reveals that his name is Dwight and tells them about his mission to find his wife. They shake hands as John introduces himself and June. Dwight laughs at their names and John finally unties him.

The walkers break into the bar as they escape out the second-floor window. However, Dwight jumps from the roof, forcing them to follow him. He reveals to John that he calls the dead "walkers" and they make an effort to get away. They start making their way to the car but Dwight goes the other way. He makes a break for their van, frantically searching through the glove box.

Dwight scans at a car registration with Sherry's forever symbol on it and a message to go "West on 30". He radios John and June to explain how Sherry has been leaving him messages for him in her travels and how he thought he'd find the next one in the car, but there isn't one. "I've been looking for Sherry for, I don't know, at least a year", he says. June ultimately tells Dwight they found the van without anyone alive in it but offers hope that Sherry could be alive.

Dwight explains that he doesn't deserve to find Sherry. "I'm never going to find her", he bemoans as he cocks his gun. June tries talking him out of killing himself, saying Sherry is still out there and that he can't do this to her. Dwight lays down his gun and sobs, telling them he can't get back to them. John says to leave that up to them.

Meanwhile, Morgan catches up with Alicia and Luciana on the road and encourages them to keep trying to contact the kids. Alicia radios them again and tells them about losing her mother and how she relates to them. They don't receive a response, so they head out.

Back at the Gulch, John shoots most of the walkers, leaving Dwight a path to finally escape. He barely makes it out before being tackled by a walker. On the ground, John tells him to raise his axe, and John shoots it, causing the bullets to split and kill two walkers at once.

That night, John explains to Dwight that the number from the car doesn't match the registration, meaning Sherry could still be out there. He then thanks June for talking Dwight off the ledge and confesses it made him reconsider how he was showing his love for her. They hug and kiss.

Suddenly, Morgan, Alicia, and Luciana arrive at the town. Dwight walks up and calls out to Morgan. They are shocked to see each other and Morgan explains they come from the same place. Dwight explains his mission and tries apologizing for what happened with the Saviors, but Morgan assures him they can talk later. "We're trying to start over", Morgan explains. Alicia asks Dwight about the walker barricades, so Dwight takes them to one.

On a roadblock, the group is about to take it down when Max radios Alicia and says they're headed to the truck stop. On the way, they find a van stalled on the road. Inside, they find a bloody Dylan crying in the backseat. Alicia tries calming him and asks where Max and Annie are, but he won't answer.

Elsewhere, Annie and Max set up another roadblock and discuss how they left the trap for the group to make sure they never get bothered again.

Warning: Spoilers
5x2 Rating: 7.8/10

Storyline: Inside Althea's truck, Strand makes a tape where he tells the others that if they're watching it then he didn't make it. He grabs a few supplies and a beer before heading down a road to El Paso.

Sometime later, he arrives at the entrance of a compound with rebar sticking out of the road. An orange cat greets him before a walker impales itself on the rebar. Suddenly, a gun cocks and Victor puts his hands up, asking Daniel to act calm and reasonably. Daniel orders him to turn around slowly. He tells him that his cat, Skidmark, likes him. Daniel then shoots a walker behind Strand before inviting him inside.

Meanwhile, Alicia, Morgan, and John return to the crash site to discover all their weapons and supplies are missing as well as the body of the strange walker. Morgan finds a sign that someone took Althea and their equipment. The three of them split up and search for her, with Morgan cautioning Alicia not to blame herself.

At the truck stop, June patches up Luciana, who is eager to heal so she can learn to play the accordion due to the pain killer drugs. John returns to tell them Morgan and Alicia headed north and they should head south, while Luciana should stay at the station.

Back in Daniel's compound, he guides Strand through a warehouse full of cars and trucks, demanding he not touch anything and saying he inherited this place. Strand asks if he could borrow his plane to find his friends. Daniel asks if it's for Madison and Strand breaks the news about her and Nick. However, Daniel doesn't believe him and claims Strand just wants the plane for himself because he is always self-serving.

In the woods, Alicia is blaming herself for Althea being missing but Morgan is optimistic. They come across a truck that is stocked and had been running recently. They split up and Morgan comes across a couple of walkers clawing at a birdcage. Morgan takes one out but then get his ankles tied up. Grace Mukherjee, a woman with a hazmat suit, holds him at gunpoint and demands he take his clothes off. Suddenly, Alicia jumps her, takes off her mask, and asks where Al is. Grace explains a power plant melted down last year and that Morgan needs to be decontaminated after killing a walker that was affected by it.

Morgan takes a shower by her truck and Grace suggests he take his wedding ring off to scrub under it, which makes him uneasy. Grace tells Alicia she hasn't seen Al but agrees to help if they return to the crash site. Alicia accepts but insists on keeping her gun. John radios to them that his and June's truck broke down. Alicia warns him of the radioactive walkers that he can't kill without risking their own health. Later, June and John follow a sign to a nearby camp to find the kids. They arrive to find cabins full of walkers and signs of a battle.

Back at the compound, Daniel reminds Strand that he once shot him in the face and left him for dead on a dam which he rigged with explosives. Strand desperately explains people can change.

In the woods, Morgan, Alicia, and Grace search for radiation amongst the dead walkers at the crash site when a small herd approaches one of which carries a dosimeter. Alicia insists she will kill them despite it being dangerous. Morgan and Grace suit up as Alicia takes out the walkers one by one, made complicated by the walkers falling in the mud and losing the dosimeter. Alicia struggles with a walker as Grace checks each remaining walkers for radiation. After finding the radioactive one, Grace shoots it dead.

That night, Grace criticizes Alicia's actions. She explains that she was an operations manager at the power plant and turned it into a safe haven for the workers and their families following the outbreak. Due to not being able to properly maintain the plant, the meltdown occurred, killing everyone else which Grace blames herself for. Suddenly, John radios again with news that he and June have found the burned bodies of more radioactive walkers. Alicia, Morgan, and Grace meet up with them in the campsite, where Grace inspects the walkers in the cabins and confirms they were exposed to the radiation due to the walkers they had killed before she puts them down.

At the truck stop, Luciana makes contact with Strand and informs him that she was injured and Althea is missing. Strand informs her that the man with the plane is going to help them. She then hears a noise nearby as the radio feed cuts out. Back in the compound, Daniel believes that the others need help and tells Strand to follow him.

Meanwhile, June and John inspect a car to ride back to the truck stop, when they get a radio call from Luciana who tells them they are getting a plane from Strand and that the long-range antenna was taken out by the wind. June then orders her to go back inside just as walkers start to surround the truck stop. Luciana tries to take aim but her injured shoulder prevents her from shooting them. She hobbles away to the barn and locks herself in.

Later, Alicia laments to Morgan that she hasn't helped or found anyone and Morgan tells her about a time he was also stuck. He promises there's a way out of her hopelessness, she just needs to find it. Alicia asks what the way out leads to. "The way out is opening the door to people, to possibility, to the hurt that will happen. That's what I did. I found the way and then I opened the door and then my life started all over again. Yours will, too." Alicia listens thoughtfully.

Afterward, Morgan tells Grace they'll help her find the rest of her friends but she declines, revealing that she has been exposed to the radiation and has limited time to live and does not want to risk anyone else's lives. Morgan reminds her they'll always be on the other side of the walkie if she needs them and Grace asks them to contact her if the group finds anymore of her people.

At the truck stop, the group arrives and awakens Luciana, who is still drugged and scared that the dead are waiting. Outside, they find the heads hanging from a billboard.

Meanwhile, Strand is escorted off of Daniel's property. He is confident the group will survive just fine and fires a couple of shots into the air, insisting Strand to leave now. "If you come back, the next one will be in your face," he tells him. Strand leaves furiously and smashes the head of some walker with a rock before heading off into the moonlight.

Fear the Walking Dead: Here to Help (2019)
Season 5, Episode 1

25 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
5x1 Rating: 8.0/10 way better then the last episode

Storyline: In the woods, Dylan and Max hunt a deer. However, the gunshot attracts a walker. Max tries to shoot it but the gun is jammed and they start to panic when suddenly, a plane crashes through the trees and debris cuts the walker in half. They investigate the crash site and notice burning boxes with the take what you need message scribbled on. As walkers surround them, Alicia emerges using a propeller to kill him, telling the kids they are here to help.

Inside the plane, the kids wake up Morgan, who is strapped into his seat and has to wrestle with a walker. John helps him and leaves to find June. Morgan tells them they got there after hearing a message on radio from someone named Logan and asks Dylan to help him save Luciana, who's pinned by a pole, while he kills walkers outside.

In the overturned cockpit, June and Althea wake up with walkers clawing at them from the windows. John shoots the undead as Alicia uses a propeller to take out the walkers. Morgan stops and says she needs to treat her hands, which are severely cut. She kills more as Morgan gets a radio message from Logan. He tells him they're on their way.

Alicia quickly hammers down a steel wire barrier around the crash site to slow down the walkers and give their friends more time. They take them out one by one as John frees June from the cockpit. Meanwhile, Al radios Strand to tell him they crashed and instructs him to watch her tape labeled "Skidmark". She explains the man on it has a small plane and he'll have to use it to fly over and get them.

Back in the plane, June eventually makes it into the fuselage to look at Luciana and her impaling. Outside, Alicia realizes they are in a high-radiation area. Althea is attacked by a walker with black armor and a helmet on and impales it on a spike. She and John then grab hacksaws, which they use to cut Luciana free. They place her on a stretcher and Althea hands Alicia her weapon.

Alicia takes the lead but a truck rushes in with Annie driving. Max says it's their sister so they all pack in the van and leave. On the road, Annie says walkers are the least of their problems. "You have no idea where you landed, do you?" She asks them mysteriously.

Elsewhere, Strand and Charlie ride in Al's armored truck side by side with Sarah and Wendell's truck towards the others. Back in the van, Annie says she stays away from this area but got stuck there recently. Morgan says they're trying to help a man they met on the radio named Logan, who claims his place got surrounded. Annie stops the van and says the place is worse than it seems.

They arrive at a gate comprised of walkers chained together with their own intestines. The tree above them has walker heads hanging from the branches. Annie says they're all over the area and she refuses to drive through. Morgan says they'll walk and Annie reminds him he doesn't even know this guy, but Morgan still wants to try. Annie warns he better be worth it as Alicia cuts down the fence and they ride on through.

Later, the group arrives at a truck stop to look for Logan but find the place empty. They carry Luciana inside as John and Al inspect the place. Morgan tries to reach Logan on the radio to no avail. Meanwhile, June prepares to help Luciana. Dylan asks her why people would need toys and what trucks do. She explains to him about Clayton's mission to keep hope alive with boxes and how they want to keep his legacy alive.

Alicia reports that no one's here and that something must be up. Annie gets spooked and tells her brothers they need to leave now. Alicia tries to calm them down but Max points his rifle at her and warns them to leave soon. The kids leave as June pulls the pole out of Luciana's shoulder.

Elsewhere, Logan arrives at the denim factory. He heads inside and finds supplies, beds, movie requests, and Althea's tapes. Back at the truck stop, Alicia and Al lock up the place as Luciana recovers. Suddenly, Morgan gets a radio call from Logan. He says he is the "L" in "C&L" which is the logo on all of the trucking equipment. He admits he never shared Clayton's world view and he made them fly to the furthest truck stop he knew of so they could take over without a fight. Alicia reminds him they crashed a plane to help him and Logan says he is just trying to reclaim what's his instead of hurting them. He cuts off communication and walks away.

That night, Sarah and Wendell drink outside the factory and lament their failure. Charlie says she can find a way in and Strand vows to get the mill back. He wishes he was on the plane but vows to get on the next one and reunite with the rest of the group.

Back at the truck stop, Al tells Morgan they need to return to the plane to investigate something and he promises they will go in the morning. Meanwhile, John tells June he's optimistic about the future, claiming they have all the luck in the world. She says he helped her when she thought no one could, so they might be able to help people in the future.

Outside, Alicia kills walkers to get out her frustration until Morgan stops her. She reminds him they could have died today and that Luciana almost did. "We can't make up for the past if we're dead," she says before telling him her mother did so much to make sure they were still standing. Morgan promises he's not done helping people and will try to find the kids again. "The things that we have done, the things that I have done, it should be hard. Maybe that's how we know we're on the right track," he says. Alicia claims that it shouldn't be that hard, leaving him in thought.

Elsewhere, Strand watches one of Al's tapes and discovers the man with the second plane is Daniel Salazar. He pauses the frame and stares in disbelief at his old acquaintance.

Meanwhile, Al returns to the crash site in the rain to find the armored walker she fended off. She pulls off its mask, kills it and starts recording. She discovers the outfit has some wires on and finds some laminated documents with maps with a three-circled symbol and the initials CRM written on it. She radios Morgan to tell him there's a story here until she's tased from behind. She falls down unconscious as the mysterious person covered in the same armor stands over her.

25 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
4x16 Rating: 2.8/10

Storyline: Althea flees into a building to escape a herd. There, she finds a walkie and tries to contact the group to no avail. She spots a TV news van nearby and watches some of the tapes. Then, she hot-wires a police car and drives back to the hospital, only to encounter Martha with a zombified Jim. Martha tells Al she watched her tapes and admires her strength. She orders Al to give Morgan a message, but she refuses. Martha attacks Al with Jim and then knocks her unconscious.

A while later, Al wakes up in the SWAT truck where John and June tell her they found her alone in the street with a tape from Martha. In the video, Martha tells Morgan that she's disappointed in him and vows to make him strong.

At night, the group sits around a campfire and Morgan describes his plan to pick up more boxes at the truck stop to distribute them en route to Alexandria. Later, John confronts Morgan about still wanting to save Martha. "I understand her... I used to be her," Morgan counters before handing John a map to Alexandria and promising to meet them there.

John tells Morgan they will wait for Morgan at the truck stop and come looking for him after two days. Morgan heads out on his own and radios Martha to meet up. She tells him she's at Mile Marker 54.

The next day, the group arrives at the truck stop and stocks up on supplies from the store. Al replenishes the artillery in the SWAT van. June confesses to John she was worried he would be disappointed in learning she was a different person than he thought, but he assures her she's everything he thought and kisses her.

Meanwhile, Morgan arrives at Mile Marker 54. He finds a zombified Jim inside a police car and puts him down. He sees Martha lying injured by her husband's grave and walks up to her, insisting on helping. "Not yet," she snarls. Morgan drags her into the police car and starts driving.

On the road, Martha bangs her feet in protest. Morgan offers medicine, but she refuses. Morgan tells John via walkie that he is bringing Martha back to the truck stop, but loses contact.

A group of walkers approaches the truck stop. Al prepares to fight them but collapses. Alicia shoots at the herd and then instructs everyone to get inside as the noise will attract more.

Back in the car, Martha tells Morgan about her husband Hank and how she was unable to help him. June radios Morgan to tell him they're all getting sick and to rush back. Martha asks Morgan for the medicine. As Morgan hands it to her, she grabs his arm and attacks him, causing them to crash. She pulls him out of the car and marks, "I lose people... I lose myself" in sharpie on his face. Morgan wakes up with a leg injury and Martha reveals she has been bitten a while ago and taunts him, saying he must either kill her or she will kill him.

At the truck stop, everyone doubles over in pain as more walkers scrape at the windows. June realizes that someone opened the water bottles in the store and poisoned the water. Al deduces it was Martha.

June tells Morgan that Martha poisoned the water. Martha confesses to putting anti-freeze in the water and tells Morgan all her friends will die. Morgan suddenly loses it and starts choking her in anger before seeing himself in the mirror and stop. He handcuffs Martha to the car and hobbles away.

After walking for a while, Morgan finds an abandoned car on the road and drives off. However, he keeps walking after his car runs out of gas.

At the truck stop, Althea watches tapes from her travels when suddenly she hears Morgan on the radio. Finally able to communicate, Morgan tells them it's anti-freeze. June tells them the antidote is ethanol and the group hatches a plan to get it from one of the trucks outside.

June and Charlie create a distraction while the rest kill the walkers and push forward. Al jumps in her SWAT truck and machine guns the walkers outside, while accidentally putting holes into the tank and causing the ethanol to drain out.

June updates Morgan on their problem and he tells them he can't lose them. John encourages him and says he's strong with or without them. The radio dies as a group of walkers approach him. Morgan injures himself taking them out and lays on the ground feeling defeated.

Althea makes a tape of herself and says that whoever finds the tapes to keep them safe. Suddenly, Morgan shows up and reveals that he brought a truck of Jim's Augie's Ale, saving the day.

The group drinks the beer and suddenly regain their strength. Strand tells Alicia he thought he'd never have anyone to drink with again and Alicia says he has her. John jokingly warns Charlie that this is the last time she drinks a beer until she is 21.

Morgan brings the group back to the place he left Martha. He finds her severed arm attached to the police car and sees her turned, walking on the road. He stabs her in the head and then buries her.

Wendell asks if they're still going to Alexandria and Morgan says he's no longer going. He says that Martha became the person she was because nobody helped her when she needed it and that more people need help.

The group arrives at Clayton's supply factory and Morgan says they should follow his path and help others. Alicia says it can't just be about boxes, they need to build something like Madison would want. Al suggests they can start with the people she interviewed.

Shortly after, Morgan's group mobilizes a convoy of vehicles outside the factory. They load up on ammo and head out. Morgan gets on his walkie and broadcasts that they are coming to help anyone who might be in need.

Warning: Spoilers
4x15 Rating: 8.0/10

Storyline: On the roof, June assures Morgan that they'll find a way off somehow.

Back on the island, Strand and John notice Alicia and Charlie waving at them from across the pond. Alicia hears June on her walkie and tells her the good news. Morgan warns Alicia to watch what she says because Martha might be listening. He also informs them of their roof situation. Alicia and Charlie head out to locate a boat to rescue John and Strand.

Jim stands on the edge of the roof to urinate on the walkers below. Morgan asks him to help them rescue Al but he declines. Sarah then asks Jim for his beer recipe, saying that he might die but his beer can live on. He tells her to leave him alone and she reluctantly does.

Elsewhere, Alicia and Charlie discover a kayak tied to the roof of a car when suddenly they come under fire from Martha. She tells them she's been listening to them and that she can make them stronger. After yelling that she doesn't need any help, Martha collapses.

Morgan and the group, except for Jim, venture back into the hospital to locate Al. Instead, they find Al's note telling them she's going to try to escape, along with instructions on protecting her tapes if she dies. Morgan leaves to find her while the rest stay behind.

Back on the island, John and Strand hear a vehicle nearby and discover it's the SWAT truck. Alicia plows it through the lake to rescue them as the two men take a swig from their bottle in celebration. Charlie returns John's hat and he commends her for talking again. Strand notices Martha zip-tied in the back and asks who she is.

In the hospital, Morgan tells the rest that he'll find a way to distract the walkers below to let the rest escape. He returns to the roof and tells Jim they have work to do.

In the SWAT truck, John radios Morgan to give him the all-clear on speaking freely on the walkies and June responds immediately. They're both elated to talk to one another. June gives him her location and he says they're on their way. Martha wakes up distressed at being tied up and Alicia suggests she has Morgan to thank. "He'll be thanking me", she says ominously.

From the roof, Morgan tosses a walker off the ledge an onto a car, attracting the walkers away from the hospital entrance. "Momo's a goddamn genius", Sarah beams as she and the rest escape into the ambulance. June radios Morgan to follow them but he tells her to go without him and stays on the roof with Jim.

After a while, June radios Morgan again, this time she's with John and the others in the SWAT truck. Alicia and the others chime in on the radio, telling him they're going to save him. Morgan looks down and sees their plan: a fire truck. Martha warns Luciana she should leave because this won't end well, but she ignores her.

Sarah operates the fire truck's crane but is short by a couple of stories. Morgan finds a rope, wraps it around a pipe, and lowers it down. He tells Jim to come with him but he says there's no point since he's going to die from the bite. Morgan tosses his stick down and gingerly begins climbing down the building. He makes it and is immediately attacked by a walker. John skillfully shoots the walker from below and Morgan successfully jumps onto the firetruck's crane. As he's lowered down he nods one last time to Jim. Alicia, June, and Luciana draw a herd of walkers and barely make it back to the fire truck alive, only to find Martha missing.

As the group gets surrounded by walkers, Jim decides to sacrifice himself to save them. Before he does, he radios Sarah the recipe for his beer. She writes it down, Jim takes a deep breath, and throws himself off the ledge and onto a car, attracting the walkers away from the fire truck.

On the road, Sarah decides they should name the beer "Jimbo's Beerbos" in his memory. Morgan proposes they find Al and then travel to Alexandria together.

At night, Martha marks Jim's corpse with the recipe he gave Sarah earlier. He reanimates and Martha tells him, "You're strong now, let's go make him strong too."

Martha introduces herself and corrects the grammar on Stevie's message. Stevie thanks Martha for helping. "I don't help," Martha says as she stabs Stevie's throat with a stick.

Another truck driver leaves a supply box on the road. Martha ambushes him with a zombified Stevie, killing him. The following days, she kills several more truckers by attacking them with other turned truckers.

One day, Martha ambushes a truck driver, Purvis, and demands to know the identity of Polar Bear, the person who organized the box distribution. When the man refuses to answer, she kills him and tries to contact Polar Bear on the truck's CB. Morgan answers back and tells her he accidentally hitched a ride in the trailer.

Back in the present, Morgan and the others slowly gets up after the gunfire stops. Morgan notices leaking fuel and says they need to get out of the truck immediately.

Sarah, Wendell and Jim watch the SWAT van drive back toward the truck. The SWAT van stops. Al guesses that Martha used up all the ammo. Wendell opens his door and sees his wheelchair crushed on the ground.

Morgan, Al, June and Luciana get out of the truck. Al goes after Martha with a knife, but falls back as Martha emerges from the back and releases a zombified Quinn onto June.

Wendell shoots Martha in the chest and Morgan puts down Quinn before June can get bitten, when suddenly, the truck explodes and attracts a herd from the woods. Martha smiles and drives off in the SWAT truck as the group flees.

Some hours later, Alicia and Charlie discover the charred remains of the semi on the road along with several walkers corpses. Alicia consults a map and decides they will head east. She and Charlie get in their car.

Morgan and the others walk along the road with the herd in pursuit. June insists on checking everyone's injuries from the shootout. Morgan spots a sign for a hospital. Jim questions Morgan's leadership and refuses to go to the hospital with the group. He changes his mind, however, when he sees the herd getting closer.

At the hospital, Morgan guards the entrance, which he's barricaded with furniture. June updates him on everyone's condition and assures Morgan that he made the right call in taking them to the hospital.

Al, Sarah and Wendell find a set of walkies in a hospital room. Al asks Wendell how he ended up in a wheelchair. He explains that he got hit by a car as a child after he tried to save another kid from being hit. Later, Marines rejected him because of his handicap.

Elsewhere, Alicia and Charlie run out of fuel. They abandon the car to look for more. After walking a few miles, Alicia finally admits to Charlie that she is not looking for Morgan and the others, but instead, she's taking Charlie to Galveston to see the beach for the first time.

In the hospital, Jim thanks Morgan for saving him before when the walkers suddenly break through the barricade. They flee and Morgan alerts the rest of the group that the herd is inside the hospital. He suggests they head upstairs.

Morgan leads the group onto a floor that is clear of walkers. They barricade the stairwell entrance. Morgan suggests they secure the other stairwells.

Al and Sarah look for a stairwell. Sarah tells Al that she quit the Marines after they mistreated Wendell. They find a stairway blocked off and filled with walkers. Morgan reports via walkie that a roof caved in on another stairwell. Luciana informs the group via walkie that the barricade won't hold much longer. Morgan suggests they take the elevator to the roof. Al and Sarah look for generators to start up the elevator.

Suddenly, some walkers attack Morgan and Jim. After some difficulty, Jim manages to kill a walker with a surgical tool. Sarah informs them via walkie that she and Al found the generators.

Al urges Sarah to rejoin Wendell while she turns on the generator.

June, Luciana and Wendell flee as the walkers break through the barricade.

The group meets at the elevators. The lights turn on and the elevator doors open. The group piles into the elevator just in time to escape the herd.

On the roof, Sarah tries to reach Al on her walkie but doesn't receive an answer. Jim finds that the fire escape is broken.

June checks Jim's injuries and realizes he has been bitten on the back. Jim reels from the news. June assures a saddened Morgan that he will find a way to get them out.

In the woods, Charlie insists to Alicia that they turn around to find Morgan and the others. Alicia explains that she wants to take Charlie to the beach because she needs something good to happen. They hear water nearby.

Alicia and Charlie arrive at a lake created by the flooding. Charlie finds John's hat. They look across the water and smile.

Warning: Spoilers
4x13 Rating: 8.5/10 after the last episode i thought this would go to bad but it didnt

Storyline: While the group waits for Quinn, a walker approaches their truck. Jim gets scared but Wendell uses his wheelchair spikes to impale it while Sarah finishes it off.

Jim notices the "Take what you need" message marked on its forehead and June immediately radios Quinn. However, she only hears walker groans on the other side, followed by Martha telling her he's dead.

Morgan recognizes the voice and radios her. Martha asks, "Is that you, Morgan?" and then tells him she knows a lot about him. She warns him to stop leaving those boxes on the road because it will make him weak. "I know who you are, I know what you're really capable of," she says ominously.

Elsewhere, John and Strand are marooned on a small island with a ranger station. Strand grabs a book inside a cabin while John chops wood outside to make a raft so they can get to the other side and find June and Charlie.

Meanwhile, Luciana searches for Charlie in a library but instead finds an old man named Clayton trapped in a car crash.

On the island, John finishes his makeshift raft as Strand watches him struggle to keep it afloat. Suddenly, an alligator swims toward them and John shoots at it, causing it to swim away.

Back on the road, Morgan decides that they need to find the rest while Sarah and Jim question him on what the woman meant when she said she knew what he was capable of. He says he has things to make up for and to trust him or he'll take their truck. When they challenge him again Morgan hits Sarah's knife out of her hand with a shovel, and they agree to follow him.

John spots a walker walk into the river only to get mauled by the gator. Strand walks up and tells John his efforts to find June are useless but John tells him they'll get off the island if they try hard enough. As John walks around, while thinking of a plan, he notices an overturned pick-up truck at the top of a hill.

Luciana tries to free Clayton from the wreckage but it results impossible. She asks if there's anything she can get him and he tells her he'd love to have one last beer. "You're going to get one," she promises and leaves him with a walkie before heading out.

Sarah and Jim question if they should keep leaving boxes on the side of the road knowing that it could get someone killed, but Morgan insists it's worth it. He adds instructions on the box to use radio channel 4, hoping John will eventually see it.

Meanwhile, Strand climbs on the overturned pick-up truck at the top of the hill and wrestles with a walker for a bottle of scotch. The movement causes the truck to roll down the hill, which impales the walkers with a branch while Strand miraculously survives. John questions his decision but Strand walks off.

On the road, Luciana searches for beer everywhere but doesn't find anything.

Back on the island, John tears apart the truck to makeshift a boat. After he finishes, he confronts Strand on his drinking, who tells him he drinks to forget. He laments that he only has things to look back on compared to John, who has something to look forward to. John tells him he can drink with him on the boat, which is even outfitted with a truck horn. Impressed, Strand finally agrees to come with him. John uses the truck horn to lure a walker into the water, so the gator can devour it and give them time to escape.

Luciana radios Clayton and tells him that the beer run was unsuccessful. Clayton tells her that in the past he used to be apart from people that cared about him because of his job and now he regrets it, but he is making up for it by helping other people. He tells her she doesn't need to worry and that she'll help someone else. Suddenly, Luciana discovers the box Morgan had left on the road, with a beer left inside and smiles in joy.

John and Strand paddle halfway down the river until the horn cuts out. The walkers roam away as their boat gets attacked by the gator and quickly fills with water. Strand fires his gun to distract the walkers while they swim back to the island.

Luciana returns to Clayton with the beer and he happily tells her he's glad she didn't give up. She explains she couldn't do anything for someone else in his last moments and she won't let that happen again. Clayton gleefully takes a sip, thanks Luciana, and instructs her to take his supplies in the back of his car. She asks what job he used to have and he tells her he drove trucks, revealing that he's Polar Bear, before passing away in the car.

Luciana constructs a memorial in his honor and then radios the channel written on the box, thanking them for helping. Morgan radios back asking if that's Luciana to which she reacts in surprise.

Strand and John sadly return to the shore of the island. Strand takes a swig from his bottle and holes up in the cabin while John eats one of his candies.

On the road, Morgan and the rest pick up Luciana and continue on their way. Luciana gives Morgan Clayton's journals, which have locations on several stashes of supplies, and tells him that Clayton would be proud. Suddenly, they are contacted by Charlie and Alicia on the radio.

Alicia tells them she found the channel from the box. Morgan tells her to wait at the mile marker and that they are gonna pick them, when suddenly, Martha radios both of them and tells Morgan, "I gave you the chance to be strong."

Morgan tells her he'll continue to find the people they're looking for until they find and help her. Sarah spots Al's SWAT truck appear behind them. Panicked, Morgan radios Martha to ask what she's doing and she tells him, "You lose people... You lose yourself." Morgan tells the group to get down just as the woman pulls the truck beside them, opens the gun hatch and opens fire.

A shocked Alicia and Charlie are left wondering what happened.

20 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
4x12 Rating: 5.8/10

Storyline: June watches John's story on Althea's tapes and radios him to thank him for the kind words he said on the tape. Althea returns and tells her to conserve the battery on the radio. Without gas, they're forced to hang out by the truck for a day.

The next morning, they hear someone on the walkie. June asks if it's John but is met with silence. Althea starts feeling ill so June convinces her to come with her to track down the person on the radio.

Meanwhile, Morgan makes Sarah and Wendell stop the truck so he can radio his friends.

Elsewhere, June and Al locate a truck with a walker in the backseat. They drive the truck back and June apologizes for using all the battery in her camera. Al forgives her and tells her that she never really had anyone before the apocalypse because of her strenuous work life. They try the walkie again and unknown to them, they are overheard by the woman that Morgan communicated with before. Morgan barely hears June on his walkie and walks off to finds a better signal.

Suddenly, the SWAT truck drives past Al and June. Al chases after it, dangerously speeding the truck, which maneuvers around a refrigerator and causes them to pop a tire and spin out. Al, who's getting sicker by the second, reveals to June that all her medicine is in the truck.

Morgan unknowingly stumbles upon Martha, the woman that radioed him back in Mississippi, and tells her she can take what she needs from his box. She ominously warns Morgan to "be careful." He leaves as she dumps out water from a clean bottle and replaces it with dirty water. She then puts a lighter to the top and places it back in the box.

June struggles to replace their truck tire while Al's condition continues to worsen. They hear the SWAT truck guns down the road and Al begs June to run over to it, which she reluctantly agrees to. She quickly locates it but is held at gunpoint by a man, who asks where her friend is. Turns out he overheard them on the radio.

June pleads that she just wants the medicine, but he won't budge. She grabs his arm and they wrestle for the gun until June wins. She runs over to the truck to discover it's out of gas again. Inside, June can't find the medicine and demands the man to tell her where it is, but he pleads ignorance, so she lets him go.

June radios Al to ask where the medicine is but she doesn't respond because she's busy fighting off a swamp walker while trying to stay awake. Al finally kills it by crushing it with the truck and radios June to tell her there is no medicine and she just wanted her to get the van back.

June returns with medicine she found on the bus, which instantly helps Al recover. June chastises her for almost getting both of them killed but Al brushes it off. June's still upset, and demands to know why the truck matters to her so much. Al confesses the tapes in her van are all she has left of the people she used to know and love.

Morgan climbs a water tower to communicate his location with a stronger signal, and Al and June miraculously hear him. Their walkie dies but June says they have the gas to make it to his location. Unable to abandon the SWAT truck, Al tells June to go without her. June pleads for her to stay but Al leaves anyway. As June drives off, Al fires her gun and then decides to come along after all.

At night, Morgan, Wendell, Sarah and Jim prepare to drive off until June and Al drive up behind them. They finally reunite and Morgan tells June he still hasn't found the others. Morgan offers them water from the "take what you need" box while June takes Morgan's walkie to radio the man from before.

She tells him to come with them and he introduces himself as Quinn. He eventually shows up at the agreed upon mile marker and asks where she is, and to their confusion, they're both "at" Mile Marker 27. Quinn discovers a "7" was stuck on to the sign and he's really at Mile Marker 21 when suddenly he's attacked by a walker controlled by Martha.

The walker bites out his neck as Martha turns off the radio. Martha lets go of her previous walker, Purvis, and attends to Quinn, who's nearly turned and tied up in the back of the SWAT truck. She writes "People You Know" on his face and tells him he won't be weak anymore. Quinn reanimates as Martha evily smiles down at her new pet.

Fear the Walking Dead: The Code (2018)
Season 4, Episode 11

20 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
4x11 Rating: 8.2/10

Storyline: Morgan looks for Alicia Clark in the storm to no avail. Suddenly, he comes across a semi-truck on the road.

Morgan takes refuge inside the truck and discovers boxes filled with supplies. "Take what you need. Leave what you don't. See you further on up the road," reads a note. He takes water and a protein bar.

Next morning, Morgan wakes up to the sound of a walker outside the truck. He cracks open the door and kills it as it tries to climb inside. He steps outside and finds himself at a truck stop in Mississippi.

Morgan enters the truck stop mini-mart and hears a woman's voice on a radio transmitter. Morgan responds and says that he accidentally hitched a ride in one of the woman's trucks and ended up at a Mississippi truck stop. She instructs him to take what he needs and leave what he doesn't.

Morgan looks for supplies and takes a walkie-talkie from a shelf. He maps out a route to Virginia.

Morgan sits on a toilet at the truck stop bathroom. He hears the click of a shotgun as a man orders him to get out of the stall.

Morgan opens the bathroom stall and sees a man in a wheelchair with a shotgun aimed at him. The man, whose name is Wendell, asks Morgan what's in his bag.

Back in the mini-mart, Morgan explains to Wendell that a woman on the radio instructed him to take whatever supplies he needed. Wendell's adopted sister, Sarah, joins them in the store.

Sarah shows Morgan several trucks filled with supplies and explains that she and Wendell delivered supplies before the fall and kept it up. Morgan explains that he's on his way to a community in Virginia that is trying to rebuild. Wendell tells Morgan that they are 400 miles from Morgan's original location. Morgan worries about the friends he left behind and vows to find them.

Morgan packs supplies into a car to drive back to Texas. Wendell informs him of a bridge that likely remained intact during the storm.

Morgan arrives at a fallen tree in the road, forcing him to abandon the car.

Morgan passes a 154-mile marker. At the base of the mile marker is a box filled with supplies and accompanied by the familiar "take what you need" note.

Morgan starts to cross the bridge that Wendell mentioned. He stops in the middle of the bridge then runs the other direction. He radios Sarah and tells her that he's coming back because the bridge is out.

Morgan contacts Sarah and Wendell upon returning to the truck stop. Sarah gives him a meet-up location.

On his way to the meeting spot, Morgan rescues a man, Jim, who is fleeing from walkers with a hood on his head. Jim explains that some people had kidnapped him for his beer recipes.

Back on the road, Jim tells Morgan that he brews beer and intends to keep brewing beer once the world is rebuilt. Morgan invites Jim to join his community in Virginia, which Jim happily accepts.

Morgan arrives at the meeting spot and radios Sarah. Jim recognizes Sarah as his kidnapper and tries to flee, but Wendell appears and holds them at gunpoint.

Morgan and Jim sit in the back of the truck with their hands tied. Sarah explains that they captured the driver while he was leaving boxes at mile markers, then abandoned him on the side of the road. They ask for the location of Morgan's community in Virginia, but Morgan remains silent. Wendell and Sarah decide to start driving in the hopes Morgan will change his mind en route.

On the road, Jim begs Morgan to share the location of his community so that he can start making beer again. Morgan refuses. The truck comes to a crashing halt.

Sarah informs Morgan and Jim that their load is too heavy to navigate the cracked asphalt.

Sarah unloads supplies from the back of the truck and cuts Jim's bonds after he negotiates a deal. Sarah orders them back in the truck when a herd appears. Jim accidentally knocks Morgan into the herd's path. Morgan jumps on top of a car. The herd immediately swarm him. Sarah offers to help if he discloses the location of his community. Once he gives her the directions, however, she abandons him. She also reveals that she knows the bridge was not out.

Morgan remains on top of the car into the night. He radios Sarah and implores her to return so that he can help his friends in Texas. He gets no response. He leaps over the heads of the walkers, grabs a knife from a supply box and cuts himself free. He kills the walkers with the knife and a mile-marker pole.

Morgan walks along the road and runs into Sarah and Wendell in the truck. They confront him about providing false directions. Morgan agrees to take them to his community if they pick up his friends in Texas.

Morgan, Sarah, Wendell, and Jim drive towards Texas and deposit supply boxes at various mile markers. Morgan radios the Mississippi truck stop to alert the listener that they are returning the stolen truck.

At the truck stop, a woman receives Morgan's message and chuckles. She turns to Purvis, a walker that is impaled through its neck on a pegboard, and writes a message on its face: "Take what you need, leave what you don't." She tells it with a wicked smile that they're going to Texas.
