All the Way with LBJ Great Story but missing much
2 June 2002
LBJ was my boyhood hero, A man who came from a teachers college to become one of our Greatest Presidents. Finally a film shows the humanity behind this great man and how he cared for people. It shows how the generals gave bad advice on Viet Nam and how LBJ had to balance his Great Society and the wat he inherited. A great actor played the role of LBJ.. But what happened to the Vice President Humphrey ? He does not appear in the meetings and that would be impossible in modern America....

Worst Take Off of Faust
17 April 2002
This is the worst version of the Faust story ever. The characters are totally unbelievable and the writing belongs to grammar school writing class. The girl Henry goes after is a plain Jane. Who cast her??? Henry need not sell his soul for her. She is not the blond cheerleader type that high school boys drool over. This film lacks humor, acting and concern. All we see are actors reading lines without any feeling,

Horrible film with no closure or connection of segments
10 April 2002
This is one of the worst films I have ever seen. What a waste of an outstanding actress in the first segment The first segment had so much potential but then they moved on to the next segment... Miss Tree put the bird back in and the home was empty. What happened to Miss Tree ? Where the girls in the 1961 segment related to Miss Tree ? No connection between the segments... This film is a waste of time and does not promote any cause.. A film that never should have been made

Outstanding Film with Wit and Humor
10 April 2002
Shirley has done it again. What a great film. The relationship between her and the Secret Service agent is excellent... The ways she tricks them call for great writing. I enjoyed each moment of this film I just wonder what First Lady Shirley was copying ???? See it to find out. It is a gem

This is a great thriller. Your eyes can not leave the screen because the acting is so good.. What tricks will the girl do to win this family??? It will warn us to be careful when you take strangers into our family circles. Add beautiful horses and great scenery and you have a hit movie for all times,, Bravo

Great film but Michael J. Fox miscast
8 April 2002
A great film that looks at the politics of America and where does the public life and private life of a President cross. What ruined the film for me was Michael J. Fox. I could not see him as a top aide to the President... A teen ager in that job....He is too young to play that role. The way he talked to Congressmen on the phone would have cost hin his job. A more mature actor should have played the role .Send Fox Back to the Future

Outstanding War Film that Is Not Anti-Polish
8 April 2002
What a refreshing film about World War II that shows the truth about Poles who fought against the Nazi rule. Brooks and his wife shine in this comedy in Warsaw as they protect Jews and gays in those grim days. What great acting. What a classic film. !!!! It should be in the top 250. Mel Brooks has the magic touch

The Film that made me go into Education
8 April 2002
This film changed my life!!!!I taught 35 years in the Chicago Public School System rarely missing a day in part thanks to Mr. Chips. When I saw this film I understood the meaning of good teaching and the proper student-teacher relationship, This film should be shown at all teacher colleges and at Future Teachers Meetings, Also what a great love story in which Mrs. Chips humanizes him. Also who could forget thew line the Danube is Blue only for Lovers .........It will always be blue for me..... Three Cheers for Mr. Chips A teacher for All Seasons

Start of An Outstanding Series
8 April 2002
One of the great series shown on TV in my youth was Dr. Kildare with the outstanding Lionel Barrymore as the wise Dr. Gillespie. Each film gave insight into human nature and the medical profession without sex or swearing. Just plain good stories. It is a shame all Dr. Kildare films are not available on VHS. I do not understand why not Dr. Kildare always had great acting and great advice. America needs films like these today

Almost Famous (2000)

Horrible film that shows the worst of rock
7 April 2002
I saw this film on HBO and was shocked by the poor acting and the horrible message it gave. It gives the worst picture of a rock band and honors drugs as being cool. The scene where the rocker jumps into the swimming pool where kids going to a party without adults cheer sure brings the wrong message to America, How can this film be listed as 92 on the best list???? This film is better than Gone with the Wind. I do not think so....Almost Famous lacks anything good in it. It is a teen age film of the worst kind. Almost Famous is Almost Nothing

Outstanding Cast 3 Great Stories for the Price of One
7 April 2002
What a Great Film with an outstanding cast, Bette Davis and Husband G. Merrill shine in this drama. Merrill visits three families with a message from the dead. Each story has its own lesson and yet all are about love. The story about Davis and her husband in the film tells what love really means not what today's X-rated world thinks it is. This film should be shown more often. Come on AMC

Wonderful story with many lessons
6 April 2002
Here is a film I will never forget with a rich plot and great acting by three of America's best actresses. Davis is great as the mother-in-law who destroys her daughters marriage Hayward again plays the modern woman raising a family without a husband. This film shows how divorce can hurt a family. It is a must see for everyone !!!! It should be in the top 250

Poor Casting Destroys A Great Musical
29 March 2002
In 1967 I saw an outstanding Musical at the Wintergarden in New York City where Angela Lansbury lite the stage as Mame. But did Hollywood give her the lead ???? No Lucille Ball great as Lucy was given the role. She killed the film. What a mistake There was no chemistry as there was on the stage Bea Arthur and Angela what a twosome when they sang.. It is too bad a producer does not put these two together even today

Film for all would be candidates to view
26 March 2002
Anyone thinking of running for public office should view this film. It is primer on how to win a race. Roman Pucinski when he ran for the U.S. Senate in Illinois in 1972 required his staff to view this film. Redford was the candidate we all hope would serve our state. This film should be shown before every election. It has a timeless message

Every Senator Should View
25 March 2002
What a Great Film. This is a lesson every Senator should learn If we had more Senators Smith our nation would have few problems This film should be shown on every election season to remind people what public service should be. This film and the Candidate should be shown together. America needs public servants like Mr. Smith
