An OK Zombie Movie That Re-hashes a Classic
24 May 2021
Entertaining as far as zombie movies go, and worth watching.

Here's the thing though, this is just an Aliens re-make with zombies/ Zack must be a huge Aliens fan because for anyone that has seen Aliens even 1/2 as much as I have they will see major scenes ripped straight from that classic bug hunt flick.

Let's start with the overall plot of going into alien territory to capture a sample for the bio-weapons division. We have Vasquez's badass female Rambo scene, to Burke's I locked the door on you so I don't get eaten scene, and the empty flight pad where the pilot takes off scene only to come back for the rescue scene, and the going back for the kid into the alien stronghold scene.

There are others, but if you re-watch Aliens before seeing this you will be surprised how many cut n paste scenes there are.

Not that there's anything wrong with recreating good content, but this is blatant.

Hap and Leonard (2016–2018)

Genuine chemistry, great story-telling, rewarding experience.
21 February 2018
Hap and Leonard's on screen chemistry is seamless. You can feel that these two have been friends and brothers since childhood and there is no forced chemistry as is seen in so many "buddy" movies and tv shows. Their relationship radiates a genuine connection that is a backdrop for the story rather than the focus.

The racial tensions that exist in the show are not forced either but are a backdrop as well to story-telling. A genuine portrayal of both the good and the bad that does not brow beat or try and preach politics to the viewer. So far this has been one of the most rewarding shows to watch in a long time.

I really hope this one sticks around, it is a fantastic effort and will be watching it until the end.

OK if you're running low on zombie movies to watch
18 July 2017
I was expecting utter trash but was reasonably entertained throughout. By no means is this a good movie but if you are running low on zombie movies to watch and enjoy gambling your time on low budget fair it really isn't all that bad.

Effects are adequate, and the main character and SOME of the supporting cast do a passable job.

They did fail to adhere to some of the standard zombie ABC's though which was disappointing.

1. don't give away the origin

2. have 1 good zombie gutfest of someone being eaten alive

In general as long as you got those you've got a solid foundation.

White Rabbit (I) (2015)

Politically Moviated Drivel
2 January 2016
A low budget groaner only made into a movie to demonize the Tea Party. Politically motivated drivel at its worst. If they made it about the Democratic or Republican parties then at least it would be believable.

WHITE RABBIT is a gritty crime thriller about a veteran of the Iraq War, Kerryann Terkel. Back home, Kerryann battles Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as she tries to establish a stable civilian life. Instead, she gets tangled up in the schemes of a corrupt cop and his Tea Party sidekick, who exploit her military training to pull off a heist involving cell phone hacking at a political rally. The crime forces Kerryann to confront violent wartime memories - and her new domestic enemies. WHITE RABBIT is about what happens when war comes home.
