Carter High (2015)
one and only
I recently watched Carter High, and enjoyed it very much the second time. I forgot what this movie shows and represents. It showed how things can go so so right, all the way to rock bottom. No team from Dallas had won the state championship in multiple years until this team. Everything just went wrong. Teens were teens and they were convicted on an armed robbery charge, and were stripped of the championship. This shows me that wanting to be seen as cool can have serious consequences. I would recommend this film to someone who needs an eye opener. Since you have it, you do not throw it away for nothing.
Argo (2012)
affleck
Argo was a thrilling and intense movie. The suspense of this movie is all over the place. One moment you could be calm, and then the next you are on the edge of the seat. I personally loved Ben Affleck's role in this movie. He played his part the way a part like that is supposed to be played. This movie is a film that I would watch more than once. From the Iran's rushing and flooding the office like an angry mob all the way to the suspenseful escape, this movie was an all around great film. I can truly see why and how this movie won 3 Oscars and a best picture award. I would recommend this to someone who enjoys thrillers.
The Majestic (2001)
Jim Carrey is him
I rate this movie an 8/10 because of the twist that was made mid film. I also liked how this film leaned to more of an identity theft than an romantic comedy. "Luke" reopened The Majestic, which instantly gained attraction from the entire city. I personally believe "Luke" reopened The Majestic because he wanted to be a different person than what he was before his accident. A very heartwarming/ sad moment is when the real Luke's dad thought "Luke" was his true son. He found love with Luke's high school sweetheart, until she found out the truth. "Luke" then turned himself into the court, and was on trial.
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
gooftroop
This was an interesting movie to say the least. My favorite part of this movie, was towards the end of the movie. I found the man on the bomb that was dropping kinda funny and weird. Bro knew he was about to die, yet he went out screaming and yelling happily ever after. I liked how the man at the end finally stood up, that was truly amazing. I would recommend this film to people from the age 14 and up. Although this was a weird movie, I truly enjoyed this and would watch another film by Stanley Kubrick. The ending of this movie proved to me that if you actually try, you will achieve your goal.
Red Tails (2012)
Airmen v. Germans
This movie to me was in the mid/meh category. I believe it was a little more unrealistic than it should have been. The start of the movie had lots of action, just like the rest of the movie. However, the explosions of the air crafts looked very fake. This movie had its ups and downs starting with the near death experience with Deac. David Oyelowo(Lightning) was by far the best character in my opinion. Even though he did not always listen to instructions, he still showed poise and got things done. This all came to an end when Lieutenant Little sacrificed his life for the leader, and was killed.
1917 (2019)
determination
1917 in my opinion was a okay movie. It had its ups and downs but the ending made up for it. Corporal Lance was on a mission. Not only to deliver a message, but to show his grit through the journey. After losing his friend to a German, he would not back down. Lance continued to go on his journey and not turn back. Personally I am not a huge action movie person, but this movie was a perfect mush of action and suspense. I think a message is in this movie, and it is that anything is possible. One big/small hiccup should not stop you from doing what needs to be done and that you can push through it.
Harriet (2019)
greatness
I give this movie a 10/10 because of the determination from Harriet Tubman. It all started with her wanting a child, but wanting that child born free. After finding out Master Brodess would not be letting her free, she decides to flee to Philadelphia. She then makes a name for herself and knows she has to save the rest of the slaves. She goes back to find her husband remarried and it sets off a new flame in her. She follows God in everything she does no matter the situation. Unable to read and write, she still pushed forward to get her people to freedom. Because of Harriet's bravery, she will not be forgotten.
Lincoln (2012)
The Best President?
In my opinion, Abe Lincoln is easily the best president of all time. His fight to get rid of slavery showed how he saw everyone as equal. No matter the backlash he got for it, he continued to fight for what was right. I have heard lots of people say Abe was the best president as well. They have agreed he did the right thing and cared for people other than himself. Due to John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln's reign was cut short. While Lincoln did the right thing, he did not always get treated fairly by others who disagreed with his decision to abolish slavery. The clothing and speech made me feel as if i was a part of this time.
Dances with Wolves (1990)
Kevin Costner masterpiece
Personally this movie was good and bad. It had very good and eye-catching moments while others were a snooze fest. My least favorite part was when he was taken by the Americans, and they shot Two Socks. The best part was when the Indians attacked the Americans to recuse John Dunbar. Even John Dunbar fought and it was a very intense battle. From him almost dying, to Smiles a lot putting a ax in the opponents heart. At the end John finds love with Stands With a Fist, and Two Socks return. Overall I enjoyed this because it was hooking towards the end. Kevin Costner also deserves a Oscar for that,
The Searchers (1956)
The top tier movie featuring John Wayne
Personally, I am not a fan of western movies. I consider them boring, lame and time consuming. This is how I felt about western movies until I watched The Searchers. Starring John Wayne, the movie had everything including action, suspense and more. One thing I did not like was how Scar killed Debbie's entire family, but spared her. Marty decides to go in and try to rescue Debbie but he is met face to face with the Indian chief Scar. This planned attack was led by Captain Clayton, while Ethan was determined to get revenge for the Comaches ending his family. Although I did not like how the Ethan character was portrayed. He was portrayed as a tough guy who would kill his own blood for being forced into a tribe. I believe with the generation that I am in, this movie is underappreciated and an enjoyable movie for those who enjoy western action.
