Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Entertaining
I don't agree with people who nitpick. The movie delivered everything you want in a movie. It's entertaining, exciting and contrary to many movies today, actually has an ending. We left the theater happy to have spent the time watching this. Highly recommend and I don't say that lightly.
The Equalizer (2021)
Don't believe those terrible reviews
This is a really good show. Love the stories. Each week is so different and exciting. After reading awful reviews, I think people are just too critical. It is television people. It's entertaining and the acting is quite good. Love most of the characters.
Hunters (2020)
Terrible ending
I was thoroughly enjoying these shows and then they had to go and ruin it with ab awful ending. The boy is NOT a good character and will definitely not be a great leader for this group. The best thing about this show was Al Pacino's acting. He was fabulous and then they go and ruin his character. I'm not watching if they bring this back for another season.
Knives Out (2019)
Well worth seeing
This was so entertaining which is exactly what I want from a movie. Reminded me of Agatha Christie's mysteries.
Great acting and what a lineup of wonderful actors. Thoroughly enjoyable two hours.
Solar Strike (2006)
Fairly good rendition of a science fiction movie
I read another review saying this was only for people who were idiots. However, the movie was quite interesting and not too bad for a TV movie. It reminded me of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, only a modern version.
I was glad to see no horrible camera work where everything is jerking around and very amateurish looking. I would definitely watch this again.
The acting was quite satisfactory and I know that TV movies do not have the same budget as movies released to the theaters, this was definitely captivating.
The premise IS possible (as possible as the Van Allen radiation belt catching fire in Voyage). The effects were just fine. I found this movie to be entertaining and that's really what I watch a movie for.
The Lincoln Lawyer (2011)
Good movie but poor camera technique
This movie was unexpectedly good. I thought the plot was terrific and the acting was superb. Glad to see Michael Pare is still around. I would have gladly given a vote of 10 EXCEPT for the horrible camera work.
I should have read the reviews before I went to see the movie and I might not have gone. This type of camera work is just awful and tends to make someone with a weak stomach, slightly nauseous. What happened to the good old fashioned steady camera with the faces not too close up. I mean the camera REALLY came in way too close on people and you could not see the rest of the scene.
Personally, I feel that the person filming (or the director) should get either more experience or more teaching to keep a steadier camera with a different perspective on a scene. I am asking for today's cameramen to PLEASE keep the camera STEADY. It's much more enjoyable for a viewer.
Battle: Los Angeles (2011)
Good movie/lousy camera work
Good movie as far as all the action. I rate a movie well if it is entertaining and this certainly was. On the edge of my seat the whole time. Never mind if there were inconsistencies in the plot or dialogue. I don't make note of those. It was good movie overall.
My only complaint is the lousy camera work. I HATE having a camera bobbing up and down. It's totally nauseating and irritating too. I wish more reviews told about this terribly amateurish camera style because I would NOT waste my money seeing it. I would have given this an 8 rating except for that horrible camera technique.
I love science fiction movies and felt this was right up there with the best as far as plot and action. I didn't think there was any problem with the acting either. Hence the 5 star rating.
12 Rounds (2009)
Really exciting
The movie has a good idea and some really seat-gripping excitement. It reminds me of Die Hard with a Vengeance but even more exciting. The plot is good with enough twists to keep everyone's interests.
I have only one negative thing to say...and this is that I hate the type of camera work in this movie. It seems to be the latest rage in movies...to have jerky-action shots. Personally I think it looks amateurish and makes the watcher slightly nauseous. What a shame to do that to such an exciting film.
Even with that type of photography, I would still recommend this film and have done so. I had never seen any advertising for this film and would not have gone to see it had I not looked up a synopsis of it.
